The Vintage Fryer prides itself on being a traditional 1960s style chippy. It cooks in beef fat which makes for flavoursome and crunchy chips. The fish is available in 3 sizes and the batter is light and crispy. I like the flavour of the fish cooked in the beef dripping, a friend isn't so keen. The black pudding fritters are well worth a try. It's only a small place and for the most part, food is cooked to order. If you're in the mood for great fish and chips, give it a go.

Don't expect to pay £10 for a curry and get 5 pieces of chicken And then quarter bag of chips that are dark. And the lamb chucks the size of your finger nails. Absolute rip off.

Where do I start with this place. Came here for a birthday meal and was extremely disappointed. First issue was it was freezing inside, the second issue was that the prices were astronomical. A tiny 6oz steak and chips was priced at £15.99 and the brownie was £6.25. The steak came well done even though I asked for medium, chips were horrible and partially stale. The brownie came stone cold, caked in tons of caramel which was sickly, alongside some extremely cheap ice cream. Was a horrible experience and will not be returning again!

Didnt book but returned later as arranged with the man at the desk. Straight away it felt like we werent really wanted. Upon return we were sat by the door and ordered. My balti had no real flavour apart from the very strong taste of tomato puree. Naan bread was ok but not great. Ordered 2 mains, 2 poppadoms 1 portion of chips 1 naan and a bottle of water. Bill came to £35 which seemed a touch high. I wont be returning

Very tasty meal, and they know how to make Tarka Dhal exactly how I like it.

The food was rank. Ordered chicken wrap with all salad. Only had lettuce and red cabbage. Chicken is lucky if has seen a living bird. Tasted processed. Chips seemed to be reheated and not fresh Really not happy with the standard of food. First time ordering from here won't be using again

Excellent food and a great atmosphere, service was very good with a great Choice on the menu thank you . The garden area was in full use as the sun was out.
