The best restaurants in Shropshire West Midlands

This is a truly lovely place with a nice atmosphere. I asked them to host a wake, and the owners were incredible- unbelievably helpful, from adapting the menu to providing a television, right down to returning lost property. Food was brilliant too, and the prices good. Can’t recommend enough.

Recently moved to local area. This restaurant came recomended. My 1st encounter, I ‘had’ a ribeye steak. The thinnest/ fattiest steak I’ve ever been served in a restaurant! Benefit of the doubt (I always give a place a 2nd chance) I had some family come to stay so thought would try again ( not having the steak ☹️). I had the belly pork, it was yummy, however, my daughter in law ordered the ribeye (big miss stake. Thin, fatty and leaking blood/ juices. Over half the steak was left. When asked was all ok I said no, pointed out the steak. The waitress said I will inform the chef! I was presented with the full bill. Needless to say I won’t be going back and speaking to the ‘locals’ some have been here 30 years, they say things have changed lately….. yep, the cost of living.

Often order via Shrewsbury Eats for lunch. Always delivered in a timely manner and the food is lovely. Perfection!

Had a fantastic stay here at the very end of March. Lovely boutique type of hotel. Owners and staff so friendly and helpful. Changed one of our rooms to a more suitable one after we arrived with no problem at all. Our evening meal was really special and delicious as was breakfast in the morning. Great unique building in a great location. Will definitely be going back. Lovely cocktails too

A local pub with good beer and ok food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pickels, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the perfect tone for a great meal. The menu offers an incredible variety of Indian dishes, each packed with rich, authentic flavors. I tried the butter chicken, which was perfectly creamy with just the right balance of spice, and the lamb Rogan Josh, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The freshly baked garlic naan was the perfect companion to soak up the delicious sauces. Beyond the food, the service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and efficient. The staff took the time to explain the dishes and even recommended pairings that enhanced the experience. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Pickels is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of their menu!

Visited the property as a of 9 on a very late booking taken as the proprietor new some of the party.They gave us the table as long as we would vacate by 20 00hrs.4 of the party chose a banquet whilst the others a starter and a main.The food as such was plentiful and tasty and washed down with a couple of drinks. We were all of the opinion that the Satay Chicken starter was the star of the show,but to be fair the rest(10 different dishes)were very close. This restaurant is highly recommended by all of us and if you are looking for a Chinese restaurant in the Market Drayton area this will fit the bill

Had a Sunday lunch here whilst on holiday, 5 of us including 3 very hungry children and a dog. Phoned ahead and reserved a table. Food was excellent, service very good and helpful. Chef catered for veggie kids with a veggie sausage roast, and thoughtfully sent out extra veggie gravy for us. The roast potatoes were amazing. Puddings all round were great. Great stuff, would definitely visit again.

Food is excellent there but recommended to book as it is regularly full.

Great place to study and staff are super nice, but needs to be warmer - cold makes me leave even though I don't want to and I'm keeping all my layers on

Lovely Sunday lunch , excellent value for money . Two starters, two mains , five drinks and only came to £49.50 . Very tasty and good portions . Staff were welcoming and we were seated quickly . Definitely will return .

Called in on Friday on my way home from work ordered a mixed kebab and southern fried chicken. My kebab was lovely piping hot and very tasty. The wife had the chicken and said it was lovely. Will definitely call again. Many thanks

The burger with pulled pork - 10/10. The burger is really tasty, good quality and thickness of the patty. The pulled pork is reaaaaly tasty! Second time I’ve had it. Chips are even super tasty (skin on). Really good selection of food, drink and dessert options. Their brownies look amazing. Not expensive. Atmosphere is really good too, wish it was bigger ! Will definitely return and recommend to everyone.
