Went for tea here whilst visiting my son. Ordered Karak chai- which is supposed to be a tea brewed for a long time with spices. The tea here was literally boiled water with a few spices thrown in and milk costing £5- sooo wrong on many levels- taste/consistency. Please take it off your menu! You do not know what you are doing. Go and have Karak chai somewhere that does it properly and you will see what I mean.

Cute student coffee shop. Special drinks menu can get repetitive but still a nice touch. Sometimes certain drinks can be pricey for what you get. Good cakes 😋

Nice atmosphere and cakes, but staff is rude. It often takes 15 minutes to get a simple drink, even when the place is empty, because the staff is to busy chatting around. UPDATE Sept 2023 The place got much better recently. It has been redesigned very nicely, everything is clean, the staff is friendly. The waiting times have reduced, coffee quality is good and importantly does not get worse (as is the case with every other place on campus). The opening times are good as well. The only thing that would make it better in my opinion is a better selection of non-sweet hot snacks, but the cakes are still very good. Probably the best place on campus now.

The ambience is good but the barista’s are not experienced enough to make a good coffee. It’s good to go and sit for a while but it misses a authentic coffee experience

📍Curiositea 1. Chocolate and Vanilla Marble Cake (£3.50) 2. Large Hot Chocolate (£3) Verdict: Unfortunately, this is yet another tragic tea room experience of mine - a place which serves cakes that give you phobia 😩😭 I’ve been eyeing this place for a while since it seems like a cosy tea room in the centre of University of Warwick. Their cake galore never fails to allure me and I just couldn’t resist it anymore, so I decided to try them out. 🍰Moreover, this place is always packed so it has to be good right? But NO!! I guess most students just come here as they are faced with constrained choices of eateries around campus. Having an afternoon tea is suppose to be a pleasurable and relaxing experience. ☕️ However, this cake turned the whole experience upside down. It was dry, tasteless and extremely crumbly. The marble cake seemed to have gone bad because it was so hard that I had to stab my fork into it, and it started to crumble into chunks of mini rocks. It was just the most awful cake I’ve had in my life!! Nobody should have to ever go through this experience, especially when you’re paying for it 😩 I was utterly disappointed with the cake and was hoping that the hot chocolate would do me some good. Well, I was wrong again. 💔 It was so dilute and bitter. I could barely taste any cocoa and I’m guessing that an upsize here just means extra hot water?! Honestly regretted for getting a large because I struggled to finish it…that’s how bad it was (I never struggle to finish hot chocolate - I could chug on it all day 😏) A very disappointing experience and I’m very sure that I won’t be returning so soon… 🙅🏻♀️

The staff is extremely rude, it seems like they are judging every time we ask for sth, as if we were a burden. Honestly makes u not wanna go back, the Nutella muffin had barely any Nutella and they took our plates without even asking if we were done. I strongly advice you have a talk with the staff make sure they are being pleasant.

Ok. Could be great though, that is my wish. The cakes are all pretty good, and they have a great selection of loads of different drinks, however they are sometimes rushed and poorly executed. As you can see in the picture this is probably the most rushed capp I've ever seen. Bad foam. However sometimes it's good. Would be great if they could improve the consistency. The hot chocolates are also poor, very weak chocolate flavour, they just shove loads of toppings on. Would be so much nicer if they had a strong chocolate baseline, otherwise what's the point.

It's nice but pricey. The music is way too loud and makes having a conversation more difficult. The smoked salmon bagel is nice, but there's not enough cream cheese in the little pot they serve with it. . I prefer Costa opposite - it's actually slightly better value for money.

Oh dear. The place is obviously run by students for students and we visited on graduation day when it was heaving inside and red hot outside. Even so, they got our order wrong three times, first of all tea with milk and hot water but no tea, then they forgot two other drinks and argued we hadn’t ordered them, despite our receipt, finally they said there was no butter for the tea cakes, only jam and then produced a tea cake with butter but no jam!!!

It is so lovely to walk through the antiques centre to then find this amazing (and cosy) little tea room. The staff always greet you with a smile and Jo is very friendly. The food is amazing. The breakfasts, jacket potatoes, paninis and most of all CAKE! My husband, who loves an English Breakfast, says this is his favourite place to get an all day breakfast. Often when visiting myself and my Mum request things which aren't on the menu, such as a change to the type of cheese, and it is never a problem. Highly recommend this Tearoom.

Decent student run tea room, very clean, very quirky. The coffee is of a decent standard and they serve a variety of cakes and pastries. Whilst I haven't been to any of the open mic nights I've heard from friends that they are good fun. Will always come here for a coffee or a quick bite over Costa which is very close by.

Lots of vegan (and therefore vegetarian) options on cakes and drinks. The vegan coffee and walnut cake was seriously delicious and moist. The shop is decorated in light colours with bunting and quirky items to make it feel airy but welcoming. Money goes to the Students Union unlike the Costa next door which doesn't profit the students. Would recommend!

Secreted away at the rear of the large antique centre....tiny cafe with lots of great home bakes and friendly staff. Agree with other reviewers...the choc brownie was fabulous, the right mix of gooey and cake. Good quality tea/coffee. Would certainly use again if we were in Church Stretton. the only slight downside is the toilet is on the upper floor so not ideal for disabled.

Great selection of hot and cold drinks with regular and seasonal specials, as well as cakes, toasties and bagels at reasonable prices. Situated in Central campus at the University of Warwick its a great place to stay in or take away. I mostly like their English tea room style, although it could use updating in places. The cakes are a little bit hit and miss as well, but overall I'd recommend this as a cosy place to grab a drink on campus.

Wow! Capitalism DOES work! The entrepreneurs at Curiousitea Coffee House generate some considerable profit (at least I suspect so, judging from the high quality beverages and food) and use it to support Student services. This is how it should be. The free market removes any unwanted nuisance and makes sure those who work hard and are willing to go the extra mile in extra-curricular activities, like preparing delicious coffee for well deserving and hard-working University staff, can get ahead in this competitive environment and make the world famous Warwick Koan fly high and proud. Thank you, Curiositea! I drop by whenever I can sneak out of my office in the Business School. One of my students had the idea to let some undergrads studying in the Humanities work in your wonderful café and get payed through the tips they receive. This would make them familiar with real work, give them valuable experiences to include in their CV and might even have the nice side effect of giving your profit margins a bump. xoxo Herald

The only downside of our visit was that although we booked last Thursday and had evidence on our phone , when we arrived they didn’t have us booked in . Not a problem on a Wednesday evening but could be an issue on a busy Saturday. Every thing else was great. Lovely setting, relaxing atmosphere great decor. Staff were friendly and the service was good. We had mushrooms , pate, cod , chicken , cheesecake and affogato, all tasty well cooked and nicely presented. Really enjoyed it and will definitely visit again.
