A bit disappointed really, been a few times before and always good. Tonight brought some friends to enjoy, but food was very disappointing. Welsh rarebit was soggy wet bread with hardly any cheese and not much flavour. When i did say something, nothing was done about it, butter chicken was like a powder gravy, no spice, fish burger with mushy peas doesn't work together, peas make bun soggy, keep separate. The standards were not as expected. We always end up with table by toilets, not ideal

The food took approximately 45 minutes to arrive to table. We had various dishes main course dishes off the menu. We all found the vegetables were hard, carrots not top or tailed and the meals bland…. Basically not as anticipated. The service delay and the concerns on the dishes was reported to the staff directly at time of occurrence.

What an excellent meal. They were obviously busy when we arrived, explained the wait time on food but were happy to accommodate us. I had the baked salmon, my husband had the slow cooked brisket, both meals were excellent. They also had a good selection of local beers on offer & a good choice of wines. The staff were lovely, chatty & friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening

Popped in for a drink and a light lunch. The pub has epic views of the surrounding Shropshire hills and probably has one of the picturesque beer gardens a pub could have! Nothing fancy ordered - 3 Jacket spuds, one with Prawns and 2 standard beans with cheese. Spuds can be hit or miss and these were a resounding HIT. Soft, fluffy spuds with a crisp jacket - perfect! Came with coleslaw and salad. Who doesn’t love a decent spud done well! I have continued my Butty Bach beer choice and it didn’t disappoint. Great village Pub with friendly staff and good food.

10oz Steak came with one onion ring, one mushroom, half tomato and handful of chips £20.50 plate was half empty. Mushroom rissoto consisted of bowl of rissoto rice with three mushrooms on top and bread £15.50 very poor quality and grossly overpriced, mushrooms barely cooked. Very disappointing for an eighty eighth birthday celebration. Have eaten several times in the past and have always been very satisfied, will not bother again.

Popped into this little gem after walking up and around Carding Mill Valley all day. Very weird how most pubs in this area don’t serve food until late in the evening, but the Green Dragon was serving all day which was perfect. Lovely pub, fantastic service with really nice food. Good selection of drinks at a reasonable price. After food we had a pint out in the beer garden taking in the fabulous views. Would I come here again, absolutely. Well recommended 👍🏻

Upon arrival the person (who I discovered later was the manager, Nathan) confirmed we could have a table, seemed a little off. We hadn't pre booked. The pub wasnt full or busy in anyway. We ordered food which came in a timely manner and all seemed ok. Let me just preface that I had just done a 7 mile walk and was pretty hungry and this place came highly recommended. I ordered a roast mushroom risotto which was a vegan dish. Nathan and I exchanged ideas about the Thai vegan burger not being made on-site as was more hassle so they buy them in. I also ordered some cauliflower as a starter. The starter was ok. My main arrived and as a keen amateur cook I noticed that it was quite overdone however I continued to eat, as was hungry and was hoping to mention to whoever came to talk to check if food was ok. This didn't happen otherwise it would have been raised. When the meal was over Nathan collected the plates and I explained about the consistency of a risotto and it wasn't great. He then remarked that "you ate it though"to which I responded that I was hungry. This wasn't the expected response from staff in a public house with a good reputation. I then pointed out when I went to bar again the issue with the food, then the barman introduced me to Vicky was was the manager. Vicky then was advised about the issue and then she went to the back and got Nathan. Nathan listened to my concern and it seemed that he understood but didn't recognize the real issue here which was a customer raising something that wasn't right. Nathan and I then had a back and forth about my suggestion to a discount on the food of £5-6 as we had a starter and 2 mains. Nathan was adamant that he should have been informed before and then he could have done something about it. He refused the discount. He wouldn't even consider it. I suggested a negotiation and this didn't seem like he wanted to consider. His suggestion during our conversation that Vicky had had the risotto earlier and it was nice isn't a reasonable defense in my view. I also know how to make a decent risotto. I felt that Nathan was rude or doesn't understand basic customer service. I wouldn't recommend this place purely on his attitude. This is location that maybe lots of use due to Nathan advised it's great for beer which i don't drink. Fortunately the location is easy for walkers and transient walkers so therefore they are generally hungry and may just eat anything but if this is the quality. Not a place for customer feedback. I have a decent network so I will share this experience to all my walker friends along with my professional network. Good luck in your future Nathan. From one publican to another....I'm sure to advise my staff about how not to operate

Poor attitude from Nathan (the manager) he looked annoyed that we hadn’t decided what to order, having been given a few minutes to read the menu. Returned to take our order and was dismissive and stroppy in attitude when we enquired if the vegan burger was made on site or brought in. The cauliflower starter consisted of 3 small sprigs of cauliflower with a jar of sauce on it placed hot on lettuce. The risotto resembled rice pudding. We were deep in conversation and didn’t go to the bar to complain and no staff came to ask how we were finding the food. Nathan, the manager collected plates, my partner let him know the food was disappointing and asked him to feedback to the chef. Nathan was again dismissive and rude. We suggested he may like to consider a discount, again he was defensive and rude but not in relation to our experience, more from a stuff you point of view. A shame as the menu appeared to offer interesting meals but the delivery and quality of products was supermarket poor. I would not recommend.

Had to travel just over two hours to go a bike dealer that I bought my E-bike from. On the way back home we wanted a lunch before we hit the road and I came across this beautiful put set just off the main road! Was really pleased with the customer service, menu, location of the pub , value for money and my lord you get a generous portion! The soup was had for starters and it was absolutely amazing. Tomato and chilli spicy but really nice helping of bread to go with it! Burger was on the menu so we had the spicy burger ( can’t remember what it was called ) hmmm mmm delicious!! Great value too, two course meal with two coffees was around £55. The fire was lite and made it even more cosy! Great staff always smiled 10/10. They prefer cash as you are supporting the local business but card is absolute fine! Please please visit this pub cause you won’t be disappointed! We last passed this way 8 years ago and have never forgotten our first time! This is one of those pubs whose meals you always remember with beaming smiles! So finding ourselves nearby we deliberately pointed the car in the direction of this lovely homely pub. The food still came in mountainous plates of deliciousness! I had the chef’s special beef brisket. It arrived piping hot, with lashings of absolutely divine tasting gravy, and so unctuous it just melted in the mouth. Heaven on a plate ! My chap tucked into his chicken pie and chips with equal gusto, happy to also have lashings of gravy ! Yes the Dragon hasn’t lost any of its magic. We will make sure we return sooner next time !

We had an inkling this was an unfriendly pub when we saw all the negative signs in the entrance porch about muddy boots and the like. Inside the few tables in front of the bar were full. Not sure why at 3.30pm in the afternoon on a Saturday every other table in the place had a reserved sign on it and was set for dinner. Wanting to rest after our walk we walked a few doors up to the Ragleth Inn where the tables remained free to use until dinner guests arrived at 5pm.

Great views looking over the fields towards the hills. Food was hot and good size portions, we had starters and a main, we was advised that there would be. 15 min wait between courses but it needed up being 30 mins, presume it was due to it being busy.
