Visited Oswestry to walk round market etc, found Kings Head as it said dog friendly, it is dog friendly and the food was really good. I had the chilli con carne with half chips half rice was great , well cooked and nice and fresh. Wife had the pie came with veg all good great value as well for fresh cooked food. Would definitely return if we back in the area

Eaten there four times four different meals good food good service and unlike the Highwayman you get your food in less than an hour last time from ordering to eating less than twenty minutes

Clean, bright pub serving traditional pub grub. Food was hot, home cooked and service was quick. Requested an adaption to a dish to replace chips with salad - plate presented with chips taken off only so meal not filling or value for money.

Absolutely gorgeous Beef Lasagne in the Kings Head in Oswestry. Lovely staff and good atmosphere, will definitely be back here again.

This was the first time I have ever been to the Kings Head for food. I decided on a bacon, brie, and cranberry panini, which came with a lovely salad and coleslaw, and then I added oinion rings as a side. Beautiful food, the service was perfect and timely, and the waitress was very helpful and gave some advice on what to drink alongside my meal. I would definitely recommend eating here and will be returning soon.

Lovely friendly service, excellent food

Food took a little while to arrive but that didn't bother us, we not in a rush.Had Brocoli and Stilton soup was amazing, Chicken Roast and Apple Crumble straight from the oven all three courses for an unbelievable £15.95 the young lady behind the bar was one of the hardest working bar staff I've ever seen I think her name was Jasmine (apologies if I got it wrong) deffo worth a visit 👍.

After a wander around Welshpool and finding nothing that took our fancy we decided to go to Oswestry, first choice was closed, walked in to prezzo, walked out. Walked in to the kings head, no tables but just as we were about to leave the lovely Jasmine asked if we could wait a couple of minutes as there was a table coming free, bright, professional and friendly jasmine quickly got us drinks, took our order and sat us at a table. The food was fantastic, I had homemade lasagne, the other half had chicken with creamy leek sauce, just soooo good. The service was brilliant, the food was so so tasty, great beer, great atmosphere, thank you Jasmine for turning a near disastrous day for food into a huge positive! Tasty tasty food, exceptional customer service, I’d go back in a heart beat. Again, can’t thank Jasmine enough, absolute superstar and customer service at its best.

Very friendly staff and good food

I have been to The Kings Head a few times now and I have never had a bad meal. The food is amazing, reasonably priced, the staff are all really lovely and will do everything to accommodate you. I would highly recommended.

Travelling up North glad we took a break here. Scampi for better half and burger with all the trimmings. Nice chap behind the bar and could see chef busy in kitchen. Very impressed and reasonable prices would certainly call again. Food was good and quite large portions. Thank you.

Food not great on this visit very disappointed had jacket potatoes for lunch skin on jacket burnt tasted like they had been repeated. Saying that this is first meal there that we didn't enjoy

Oh dear, not sure what has happened but the food has done a nose dive. A real shame as it was our go to pub for decent lunchtime food. Quite sad.

Excellent, can't fault it in any way. Actually stopped mid meal to post this. Very filling, good value and excellent service.

Good tunes on a Saturday night ..

Beautiful old building kept well and clean. Lovely garden area too. Just stopped fir a rest on our journey for a coffee and dessert. Very friendly staff, good homemade desserts. Dog friendly. I would recommend anyone to visit. We went on lunch time, the plave was pretty busy, locals must know the place have good pub food.

Great food great beer and amazing value

A dog friendly pub on the main road, welcome was initially warm and drinks were well priced. I ordered cheese and red onion on a ciabatta. We waited about 25 minutes in a pub that wasn't really busy, on arrival there was far more onion than cheese, red and white onions that tasted like they had been fried with burgers. We gave feedback at the time to a male member of staff. He didn't accept there was more onion than cheese and there were white onions in addition to the red, so rather than argue the toss we left at that point.

Sorry but food was poor. Has steak and ale pie and didn't like it. Veg was not seasoned at all just boiled. Onion rings were nice

Great gammon and pint yesterday

Had a visit to oswestry today and being hungry we came across this little gem. The gentleman behind the bar is very polite and welcoming, the service and food is excellent and the prices are great value for money. My husband and I had a starter and main each my husband had a pint and I had a lattee all for £28. Well will definitely be visiting here again in the future and do highly recommended any visiting the area to call in you won't be disappointed. Thank you for a lovely meal

Had a meal there today, what can I say the food and service is excellent. The gentleman behind the bar is polite and welcoming, the prices are great and we'll definitely visit again next time we're over that way. I highly recommend this little gem

Great staff great food lovely atmosphere

Called here for food midweek, ordered drinks to be told they weren't serving food, despite it saying online they do, and the barmaid sat behind the bar eating a ciabatta all the time we were there. We had our drinks (we didn't enjoy the pepsi), and went to another pub the barmaid recommended. We mentioned that it said they were serving food online, her response was we keep telling the manager but he doesn't bother to update it! The place was clean and well presented and the pints were ok!

Great Food, Very helpful staff ,lovely Clean Public House in the center of Oswestry.

We waited 1 hour and 55 minutes for our food. Unfortunately by the time the food came my 1 year old was to tired to eat his meal as he was due a nap. As a result my partner had to settle my son while I ate my meal and when he ate his meal It was cold. Disappointing as I specifically asked for his meal first. To begin with staff wouldn’t knock anything off the meal and in the end we had 2 drinks free. No apology given: I won’t be returning.

Chewy roast, microwaved veg,soggy Yorkshire pudding, poor service, hope you can enjoy however I didn't.

Went in for lunch today after doing some shopping. We are a group of 8 .. 4 staff and 4 people we support with disabilities. We loved the food very tasty. Staff friendly and even the customers were friendly and helpful. We always like to leave a review on the table when we leave.. We love to leave positive reviews..

Ok so all the reviews here are about food & day visits, can't comment on that yet but what i do know is if you want a good session go at night! Went for first time last night & it was banging! Not too busy, great drinks, great staff and most importantly fantastic music. Will be returning asap. Cheers.

Stopped for lunch as been here many times -we both had the prawn cocktail and a portion of chips to share and tea for two – service with a smile as always and everywhere very clean and inviting. Right in the main part of town juts opposite Boots.

Amazing, friendly staff. Great food and fantastic value. Packed when we arrived and everyone was ordering food so the kitchens were busy. Our boy was a bit downcast because he was hungry so they went to the kitchen and got him some chips to tide him over while he was waiting. Made a really good impression.

Went for food here on Monday, it was superb. Food was well priced (if anything to cheap) delicious and served quickly. I had the gammon was well cooked not to salty, the chips were beautiful. Mushrooms cooked to perfection. Beer was very nice with a good selection.

Been here for lunch a few times now. Always satisfied with food. Clean and friendly environment. Will go back again.

We called into Oswestry on our way to Aberystwyth to find somewhere for lunch that was dog friendly. We found this pub and we were very impressed with the excellent service, great food and reasonable prices. Highly recommended

We had lunch here mid week and was very good - Husband had the steak and mushroom pie - comes with chips and gravy and he said was delicious. I had the prawn cocktail - it is a starter but a really good portion and perfect for a smaller lunch on a hot day. Also we ordered an extra portion of fries as they so good. Everything tasted great - only issue on this visit was it was very busy and the wait from ordering to getting food - approx. 50 mins. No problem if you are not in a rush. Very clean - bar area and toilets. Right in the heart of the shopping centre so very handy for lunch.

Went to Saturday market , called into Kings Head as menu and price advertised in window was very reasonable. Ordered our burgers one veggie and mine beef,bacon and cheese. When it arrived with salad, chips,onion rings quite a substantial meal.My wife and I ate the lot and washed down with a couple pints of lager and half’s of cider went away very satisfied. The staff were friendly and the best bit was the price the complete lot around £25. Excellent value will travel over to Oswestry again as car parking was only £1 for just over 3 hours !

Amazing service from start to finish, very clean and fresh feeling to the whole pub. Food was amazing value for money and was absolutely brilliant. Already told several people about the service and food.

We sat outside in the courtyard. The menu looked very standard, but when the food arrived we were very pleasantly surprised. The chilli was home made and tasty. The salads were better than most pubs with a tasty dressing. The french fries were skin on...

Excellent service from friendly conscientious staff. Good selection of drinks and food. Food is very good, freshly prepared, good portions and fairly priced. Staff are more than willing to meet special dietary needs wherever possible.

Stopped for an impromptu lunch and a pint here yesterday and was very impressed. The service was brilliant,food was lovely and the pub itself was really nicely done out. We sat in the beer garden out back which is a great little spot to sit in the sun and it has a really cool vibe with the graffiti walls and outdoor t.v playing music. Plenty of benches aswell. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Oswestry.
