Absolutely love Booka in Oswestry! From the moment you step inside, the staff makes you feel incredibly welcome—friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about books. The store is beautifully organized and impressively stocked with a massive range of books, from bestsellers to hidden gems. It’s easy to spend hours browsing! And don’t miss the coffee shop; it really excelled itself. The coffee is excellent, and the cakes are delicious, making it the perfect spot to unwind with a new read. Can’t recommend Booka enough!

The BEST book shop ! Excellent selection, and if they don't have what you want then ordering is no problem at all. Great little coffee shop and some beautiful cards and gifts. An absolute must on any visit to Oswestry.

I haven't had the pleasure to visit this shop in person, but had a great experience ordering a signed copy of my husband's favorite book with international delivery. I received prompt responses when I emailed to ask that the receipt be withheld as the order was a gift, and to get tracking on the package. One day I hope to stop by in person as I can't resist a good book shop.

Absolutely wonderful independent bookshop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and a beautiful building. Sian was especially great! The upstairs is kids and gifts, the downstairs has plenty to enchant for adults. Outstanding and worth a trip for book lovers.

Great bookshop. Lovely coffee. Buying a book is making an investment in hours of time to be lost in or learn about a new world, a new way of thinking, another person. It isn’t transactional. It’s lovely to be in a store that respects that.

Lovely place to a piece of cake and cup of tea

I wanted a signed copy of David Walliams' latest book. I found Booka Bookshop in a search online, and they were hosting a signing. Their site was very easy to use, and I found the item I needed. I ordered, and it arrived after signing day. It was well packaged. I did contact the shop with a query and found the staff very helpful and friendly. They quickly resolved my query. The granddaughter was delighted to have this new addition to her collection :-) I would definitely use Booka Bookshop again.

I love Booka and have been coming here for many years. What more could you wish for? Great cake, great coffee, great books, great service and a lovely location.

We love this book shop and would highly recommend it. Great coffee and offer gluten free cake, freshly made not pre packed. Definitely not one to miss, the books are amazing, purchased a child's version of David Attenborough s life story. Always interesting books and regular meet the Author.

Love this little sanctuary of beautiful books, and the cafe with yummy sweets. I enjoyed both chilling with a cup of tea and cake as well as browsing the books and lovely stationary. Got a card for someone who was very delighted at the delightful design. Enjoyed the selection of books, found it hard to resist buying more. Will be back!

Wonderful selection of books, friendly, helpful and efficient staff and great coffee - everything we needed for our visit. Their 'meet the author' events are very interesting, the space is large enough to fit people in yet small enough to feel quite intimate.

Fantastic selection of new books, cards & unusual gifts plus tasty cakes! Brilliant regular evenings with talks from authors too. A real credit to Oswestry & well worth a visit.

Nice little coffee shop inside

I regularly visit and the staff know their stock well and can recommend books and the stock changes frequently. Their events and are excellent and the schools programmes very god too. My only surprise was that they don't do returns. I wanted to return a gift I had duplicated with a family member and returned two days later with the receipt and they would only give me a hand scribbled credit note which doesn't feel very official.

Very helpful staff, friendly and personal service. Helped me get a signed book on my young person's xmas list. Atmosphere and cafe welcome browsers in.

This is a lovely shop! The staff are friendly, cheerful and easy to talk to, the coffee and cakes are delicious and the books are all very varied. If there isn't a book in stock, they always offer to order it in for you and you can pay then or when it in. I have been to Booka more times than any other bookshop because it is so good there. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing place to eat, drink and read quietly. 10/10

No sign of the Queen's Jubilee yet??

This is a great place to have coffee & cake, whilst browsing the well stocked shelves. It has reviews of some books that have been read by staff and their book clubs. A good Children’s area , along with stationary in their upper floor. Whilst I had a caravan a few miles down the road this was a place we came once a week, although I don’t get to visit as much, I still use their on-line shop to order books. It’s probably one of the best independent bookshops I’ve been in. When in Oswestry please pay them a visit they’re always welcoming and friendly.

This book shop is an absolute disgrace - They took my money over 1 year ago and I have been trying to get this refunded for months now and they ignore all of my emails and messages - Avoid !!

I am so pleased I discovered. this bookshop online. I ordered a signed book two days ago (Sunday) and I received it this morning. The parcel was securely wrapped and arrived within 24 hours. The book itself is in immaculate condition. Thank you for such excellent service.

This cafe Booka Oswestry must hold the record for most expensive cup( or should I say egg cup!)sized cup of coffee yet.Total rip off and luke warm americano. Never again.

A really cosy place to sit with coffee and cake. They do a good decaffeinated coffee. You can also browse the selection of books during your visit. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I have visited here many times, and will continue to do so.

A shinning beacon in the center of Oswestry. It's shelves are bursting with books, their colourful spines stretching around the shop hoping to catch your eye and take you to any far away place you desire.

Easily my favourite bookshop ever! Due to covid the coffee shop part of Booka isn't around anymore but they've used the space to lay out even more books! So many of the books have been signed by the authors which is incredible! All the staff are really helpful and can tell you so much about different books. It has such a wide variety of books and a really cosy atmosphere. I've been a few times but I just moved to the area so will be visiting much more often! I love this bookshop!

Great local business, can't wait for the cofee shop to reopen

Great little place, if they haven't got it, they'll offer to source it. In normal times they provide some excellent events, interviews with authors, which are really well organised and attended, (one of the social highlights in the local area).

One of my favourite shops ever, lovely atmosphere and super friendly staff. My daughter loves reading and always asks for a booka voucher for birthday and christmas! Offering their services still during lockdown! A wonderful asset to Oswestry x

Extremely poor service from this local store today. A couple of weeks ago my wife visited to order a signed copy of David Attenborough latest book. This was an important Christmas present. Lady behind the desk said not to pay for it and she would call when it arrived. She took our phone number. After two weeks we'd heard nothing so wife visited shop today to enquire. Was told it had been sold to someone else because it hadn't been paid for and they thought we didn't want it.? No attempt had been made to contact us on our phone. what sort of shabby service is that? To say we are angry and disappointed is an understatement. Needless to say we will never, ever give them any more of our custom. Hopefully no one else will either.

One of the most welcoming peaceful professional and well stocked bookshops you can find. Friendly and helpful owners and staff, with coffee and cakes to die for. Oswestry is so blessed to have this place and clearly support this lovely independent.

5* wish I could give more! The shop and cafe are immaculate, very peaceful atmosphere and awesome selection of the latest, and classic books. Attended many 'evening with' events Inc Michael Palin, Johnny Herbert, Damon Hill, and Ruth Jones. Never disappointed. The loyalty card is a great idea and your staff all come across as passionate about their work. Every individual in your shop is a shining example of how customer service is done. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Booka is a truly wonderful bookshop. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They have a well curated selection of books as well as cards and a small gift selection which is invariably tempting. Although not as tempting as their coffee and cakes. I make a real effort to buy my books here when I can as this shop and cafe is a real contributor to the local community.
