We enjoyed a great breakfast here during our stay as well as lunch on our arrival. Absolutely stunning food which was very tasty and very nicely presented. The staff are brilliant there. We also had pizza on 2 occasions during our stay as they were amazing. We can get a 2nd chance at tasting them! So very yummy, probably the best pizzas we've had in the UK ! Better than Pizza Express or Zizzi. :)

This beautiful and friendly little pub is one of the few remaining genuine watering holes in the UK. It is staffed by the most delightful people and without exception, the locals are extremely warm and friendly. The setting is perfect and the traditional quirkiness of the pub is beyond charming.

The Crown Inn – Sunday Dinner Review Nestled in the heart of the village, The Crown Inn is everything you could want from a traditional countryside pub—warm, welcoming, and brimming with charm. This Sunday, we visited for their renowned Sunday roast, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. Ambiance/Atmosphere: The pub boasts a rustic yet homely feel, with wooden beams, and a mix of locals enjoying a relaxed afternoon. The atmosphere is friendly and unpretentious, perfect for a cozy Sunday meal. There’s a large beer garden outside, where families and their dogs gather in good weather, adding to the village feel. Service: The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Our server Michelle checked in just the right amount, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Service was prompt, despite the pub being busy with locals and visitors alike. Food: The Sunday roast is the real star of the show. We opted for the roast pork and trout, both of which arrived with generous portions of crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and lashings of rich gravy. The pork was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor, while the trout was delicious. The vegetables, especially the honey-glazed carrots, were cooked to perfection and tasted wonderfully fresh. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the rice pudding, fruit pana cotta and brownie, which was the perfect ending to a hearty meal, served warm with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Price: The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. A full roast dinner is around £14-£16, which we found excellent value, especially considering the portion size and quality. The dessert was £6, and worth every penny. Unique Features: One of the lovely features of The Crown Inn is the sense of community—locals know the staff by name, and there’s a genuine warmth to the place. They also offer a selection of locally brewed ales on tap, which perfectly complemented the meal. Conclusion: If you’re looking for a traditional Sunday roast in a relaxed, friendly village setting, The Crown Inn should be at the top of your list. With generous portions, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere, it’s a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended for couples, or anyone looking to enjoy some hearty comfort food.

Walked in on a rainy Sunday , hadn’t booked but they accommodated us (unlike another pub in Clun) very friendly and welcoming staff. Sunday lunch offered a 1/2/3 course option with a good menu choice. The food was very tasty and presented well , exceptional value for money in a really nice setting

My partner and I came here for an evening meal when staying at the Baron at Bucknell. My partner called up first to book a table having found good reviews online. The lady on the phone was extremely helpful and provided directions perfectly as she explained the sat nav may take you a longer route. We followe her directions and got there within about 10 minutes. We were greeted as soon as we entered by customers waiting by the door and then the staff. Everyone was polite which was really welcoming as we were out of town. The decor is like an old style traditional pub and it had a really good feel about it. We initially ordered the T bone steak but they didn't have any so opted for our usual sirloin which was also recommended by the staff and we were not disappointed! Big being very big steak lovers we've been to many steakhouse's around the country and have to say this was possibly the best steak we've ever had. The garlic butter complimented it very well and we were not left disappointed that the T bone wasn't available! I highly recommend coming here if you are anywhere nearby.

Featured in the Good Pub Guide and popped in for a pint whilst staying in the area. An unpretentious 15th century pub, doggy friendly and an excellent real ale from a choice of six. A local brew from the Three Tuns brewery in Bishops Castle. Friendly crew and punters.🇬🇧🇳🇿
