As we were staying in Bucknell, we popped into the Sitwell Arms, my partner recommends a pint of Butty Bach! Steve, the landlord, will give you a very friendly welcome, as will the locals. We missed the Thursday pie and pint night but went Friday for the fish, chips and pint night, well worth it! They also did an eat all you can Indian buffet (we had already eaten) looked and smelt wonderful. If you are in the area we would definitely recommend a visit (or two)

Again wet after walking the Heart of Wales route we fancied a drink and bite to eat. Staff and customers were freindly. Thank you to the Landlord for spending time telling us about the area and its history. Its all interesting and each bit helps create the jigsaw of the route.

I live in the village of Bucknell in South Shropshire, which is very close to the Welsh border. Almost next door I am so lucky to have the Sitwell Arms where I eat regularly. The Sunday Carvery is becoming something of a local legend - absolutely delicious and so reasonably priced. Good and welcoming company too. Locals and lots of visitors enjoy the Carvery and you risk missing out if you do not pre-book in good time. The regular menu is varied and always lovely. There are lunchtime specials all week at pretty amazing prices and no loss of quality or quantity. Pie and a Pint on Thursday evenings is great: value, quality, great taste and good company. You could join us........

Booked Sunday lunch for two after hearing some good reviews and were not disappointed. We had one of the nicest meals out in a long time. Proper roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds and gravy. All nicely cooked and served with a smile. Will definitely be returning.

Our group of 18 cycle tourists were made very welcome. We had pre-booked lunch (sandwiches and chips) which were ready soon after arrival. Food very good and the Three Tuns cask ale was excellent. Very good service-we will definitely return on a future trip.

Honestly the best pub meal I've had in years! The steak and Guinness pie was delicious and chips better than many chippies. How they do that with bargain prices baffles me. Highly recommend

Went for the first secret diner club evening that is run by Jess who owns the fab 'not today seitan' in liar liar..what can i say?.the food was on another level. Litrally the best vegan food in Oswestry and way surpasses anything else available in a vegan cafe in Oswestry. The food was beautifully presented, the flavours were amazing and the cocktails were beautiful too. Really hope the owner decides to run these evenings on a regular basis although once word gets around i imagine getting a table will be really difficult. Its great to see a vibrant young business do so well and honestly the co trading with Liar liar is such a brilliant idea. Two amazing businesses running side by side. I cannot recommend this highly enough, the best vegan resturant/cafe in town by far
