The Postcard Cafe in Shropshire

I'm no stranger to the area but my wife has never been before. We called into the cafe and had a lovely meal. This area is one of the most scenic areas I've been and I've travelled the uk. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited Clun yesterday and had lunch here. Great little cafe, so friendly welcoming and good selection of foods and drinks to choose from. Really special calming vibe in the cafe. Everyone visiting had a few words with others in there and feels heart of the community. Also sell local art, old vinyls, clothing, cards etc. definitely worth a visit, and curb appeal too. Will take the detour via Clun again on our way to Wales. Blossom is currently out too- very pretty place is Clun with a couple of little shops and castle remains too.

What a welcome, friendly humans serving 5 star homemade food, cheerful interesting eclectic ambience, clean, down to earth cafe that every budget or culinary experience would feel right at home. This owner has got it right. Clun village and surrounds can be explored, but visit the castle ruins and dine here. Dogs catered for, a few outdoor tables, they'll wrap something to take home no problem. We'll done.

Wonderful food in a very quaint and homely atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon tea.

This cafe is a little gem, amazing staff, excellent food and great service. A must-visit if you are passing through Clun. You won’t be disappointed.

What a lovely little cafe to find, lots of things to look at inside. Dog friendly which was nice with water on offer. My partner had smoked salmon on sough dough with lots of other ingredients in it. I had a cheese an mushroom toastie that was gorgeous. We had a pot of fruit tea an then had the most amazing home made cakes to finish. Would highly recommend a visit.

A quirky building in a picturesque setting in Clun. Lovely host, very nice cafetière of coffee and a sample of cake. The cafe is situated adjacent to the old, single carriageway stone bridge, not far from the ruins of the castle. We caught them just before they closed up for the day but they made us feel very welcome after a busy bank holiday weekend. We were given a sample of the host’s most unusual signature cake, ginger and turmeric; a lovely colour, the earthiness of the turmeric coming through with chunks of stem ginger - you could almost feel it doing you good!

Really pleased we found this spot! Great cafe, amazing scones - recommend the ginger one!! Definitely going to come back!

After a long cycle ride we came to this lovely cafe I had sardines on homemade brown bread with tomatoes and spinach with plenty of olive oil which was excellent along with the coffee Look forward to returning soon

One of my favourite cafes. A quaint cafe in the beautiful village of Clun offering lovely meals and cakes with very helpful and welcoming staff.

A great Café stop for any cyclists (or non-cyclists) in the area. We had a brace of Sara’s Samosas and a piece of Jo’s Ginger and Turmeric Cake between us and an Americano a piece. The quality was top-drawer. We sat outside and enjoyed watching the enormous tractor/trailer rigs bringing in the hay bales and navigating the tiny hump-backed bridge immediately outside the Café.

the food here was amazing ..we had soup and bread ... real dark brown bread and delicious home made soup and the staff couldnt have been nicer .., i bought a cute dress too as they have vintage clothing and paintings for sale ,, great vibe

Wonderful little cafe by the bridge in Clun just a few yards from the Castle car park. My partner had a gorgeous soup with the most amazing dark bread - so tasty - and I had a chorizo sausage roll with a lovely chutney. For dessert we had local ice cream and I had a scrumptious cappuccino cake with a lush coffee sauce. The coffee was excellent too. Service was very friendly and swift. Thoroughly recommend this little haven.

Wonderful unique cafe serving home made cakes and fresh food made to order . Lovely friendly staff with the bonus of vintage clothes , books and art for sale making this a great place to stop for a cuppa or lunch .

Popped in today for a snack and honestly I was shocked. We ordered a ham and cheese sandwich, a ham and cheese toaster and 2 coffees and it came to £16.75. Although we were shocked my partner said it must be because it’s superb quality food. Unfortunately it wasn’t. My toastie was lovely and hot BUT you could not taste the cheese. It was very mild. My partners sandwich was awful. The slab of cheese on the sandwich was practically a brick and also only had one slice of ham and the bread was very normal and dry. The coffee was delicious. For that price I honestly expected maybe locally produce cheese and ham with much better taste. While waiting for our food I notice the staff bickering and being told to communicate better before taking the food out to people. Atmosphere was very uncomfortable and we will not be going back again.

This is a gem, charming, quirky, engaging, delicious cakes, cracking coffee. The staff were lovely, interesting people. The location is beautiful, ancient stone bridge, river, castle (all be it in need of modernisation). We’ll be back.

Popped in for a cuppa and an amazing carrot cake served with fresh mascarpone cream. Delicious. Lovely place, half curiosity shop, half cafe. Also bought a lovely sandstone carved hare reasonably priced. Give it a go next time you're in the area.

Stopped here for a pre walk coffee and cake. Very interesting place with a massive collection of post cards and other curiosities for sale as well as quality cake and coffee. Recommend this place for both cake and light meals
