Delicious food and really tasty cocktails. But above all the customer service was the best I have ever experienced!! So I will definitely be returning 🥰
Lovely local country pub
Make it part of my Friday end of week to have a pint after a long week me and my dog
Lovely place and great friendly staff come summer or winter
The room was delightful and the bed very comfortable but the food was more than disappointing. Very very limited menu. We were there 3 nights and I had to have asparagus on two nights as nothing else appealed. Chef came up with an extra starter the second night, steak tartare… no ty. (Third night we ate elsewhere) same with main course. Two fish options, pork chop, duck, which we both had to have, or veg option. No steak or chicken . Deserts weren’t appealing and cheese course of Brie was £12!
Matt was exceptional and made our stay! So professional and likeable. So eager to please.
The owner was around much of the time but found it impossible to be friendly or welcoming although staff were great.
Overall a nice experience but there were a few things that could have made this exceptional. Firstly, I do think the artichoke starter presentation could be re-thought....perhaps I'm just childish, but it's appearance was quite off putting! (Photo attached). I chose cheese for dessert but they were all bland. They were all served straight from the refrigerator and I really felt they should have been room temperature to bring out the flavours. We chose the wine pairing and all were delicious, that was good. Finally, I really object to a service charge being added. Tipping should be discretionary. The service was very good and we would have left a tip but when it's added to the bill I find this very cheeky - we don't tip shelf stackers or check out staff, I don't think this should become the norm that we have to pay extra for people to just do their jobs. It always leaves me feeling like the establishment is somewhat money grabbing.
We were booked into a different restaurant, but our need for Thai styler food was greater, we searched for Thai style and happened to come across Bombos. We did our checking of previous reviews and were impressed. We booked and went there Friday night (7th Feb 2025).
The greeting from Spike was genuine, warm, friendly, and with a grace to make you feel appreciated. Spike was helpful with the menu and genuinely engaged in a general chatter with enthusiasm, a nice touch as some places don't engage.
The menu was a delight to read, mouthwatering stories of each dish. The delight was that the menu was not vast, which in my opinion is a great thing, as you get quality from the dishes they do and do well, rather than a myriad of dishes that could do better. So, a top score from us.
We ordered, my wife and I, starters of Chicken Tatsutaage and I had Octopus Balls. All I can say here is...... OMG. My wife doesn't go overboard for a fish dish, but she absolutely loved the Octopus Balls. We both loved the two starters. They arrived, well presented, with clearly both love and attention, with an almost painted finish, they looked that nice. What a fabulous start to our experience of Bombos.
The mains we ordered were Chicken Katsu Curry together with Bibimbap (Chicken) . We were NOT disappointed. The presentation was sublime, careful, delicate, with panache from someone who loves their job and takes pride. The flavours were an abudance of sensor hitting delights, there was nothing to fault.
We will be back to enjoy the rest of the menu, we cannot wait to get there again.
Thank you, Bombos.

Amazing Jamaican food! The jerk chicken and mutton curry were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Our server, Maya, was fantastic—super friendly as was the rest of the team, helpful, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend both the food and the service!
A lovely little café, had the Bacon, Brie and Cranberry Panini, which was amazing, if only I'd ordered a second!
Coffee was also lovely, though a little frothy for a latte.
The entire time I was there (about an hour) they played exclusively ABBA music on the radio, I sincerely approve of this decision-

Only just found Spice's when our regular Indian restaurant closed down. Great food, and a well presented restaurant. We might have found a new regular.

I went here with my brother for food and he wasnt allowed to go toielt until he ordered even though I was outside with my son he told them they didnt care and the food was nice but they literally slammed it all together 😑 and there was curry in all the bag like someone had threw up because they were rushing.
