Little Seeds in Stafford

Met friends in Stone for lunch and went to Little Seeds. I've been before but this was probably the best meal I've had there yet. I had the set menu - £40 for three courses, bread and chef's treats was great value - and chose a red wine, Amorone, as it was a cold day outdoors. Honestly, it was so good I asked if we could meet the chef, and out came Jake who is a lovely man, I learned from meeting him. I shall definitely be back.

This has got to be one of the best if not the best restaurant in Staffordshire, we don’t get to visit as much as we would like but when we do it’s such a treat. We usually go for the tasting menu, but have been for Sunday lunch several times too (I’m fussy about Sunday lunch but this is the best!!) The owners and staff are always welcoming and professional, the food is nothing short of phenomenal- every time. Their carefully thought through menu changes to suit the seasons too. During lockdown we were still able to enjoy their wonderful food via a collection service which gave us a boost during those bleak times! Can’t wait to visit again soon x

Is this the best restaurant in Staffordshire? We think it is. Living in Birmingham we discovered Little Seeds when visiting my Dad and we love it! Beautifully presented food, great flavours, the team are lovely and always welcoming. We just keep going back and would encourage others to do the same if you enjoy great food.

Absolutely amazing experience here. From the minute we walked in we felt comfortable, looked after and amazed. Firstly, the service is very good. The food is amazing and extremely complex and tasty. The chef clearly spends days dreaming up these taste journey's and obviously is passionate about his work. His partner (front of house) is amazing too as she is friendly and approachable and genuinely is interested in speaking to customers. The balance here is just right and I can't compliment them enough for an amazing experience. It's even worth booking a stay in Stone just to eat here! THANK YOU GUYS!

A fantastic restaurant with a Taster menu and A la carte menu. We ate from the vegetarian taster menu which was amazing. A very special treat for a birthday. Great service from Sophie and the other front of house team.

When you take away my glass with wine in it and then give me an old fashioned look as I ask for it back, you can expect a bad review.

Really delightful find, we were passing through Stone and so pleased to have stopped. Atmosphere friendly and warm, food wonderfully balanced and interesting but the lead front of house lady was so very charming, giving greater insight into the food and wine in a very enlightening fashion. Shame live in London as I don't think the 4 hours driving means we are unlikely to be back too soon, mind you, very tempting!!

Our first time visiting, but definitely won't be out last. We had a lovely welcome and invited into the garden for a complimentary glass of fizz for the restaurant's birthday. The starters, mains and desserts were all delicious with beautiful presentation. We dine out a lot and this is one of the best meals we have ever had so would highly recommend.

We had the Saturday lunch set menu with paired wines. Great food and wine, lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Excellent experience would definitely come back.

Been to Little Seeds several times and once again today I had a great time there. Sunday lunch of three dishes, all of them perfect. Attractive on the plate and super flavours to eat. All accompanied by a top quality, reasonably priced wine and lovely friendly service. Recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We received a friendly greeting and shown to our table, the staff were all friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We chose the tasting menu which consisted of 7 courses with treats before and after. The food was excellent, fabulous taste combinations and our taste buds were truly excited. We also had cocktails to start and chose a bottle of Portuguese white wine. I have to say that there was a wine pairing on offer which looked very good. We will definitely return to sample more of the excellent food and service provided.

As ever when you want to go out for a beautiful food experience this is the place to go in Stone. The staff are so friendly and professional it’s a little bit of that I don’t know what, that makes it so relaxed. Some may say it’s a little pricey, but remember folks this is quality fresh food, prepared by a professional chef.

Between us our party of four ordered nearly every dish on the Sunday lunch menu and the standard was extremely high on all of our meals. We couldn’t fault the food or the service. The staff were very well trained, polite and welcoming. We had a brilliant lunch. We will definitely be back.

Wanted to visit for ages so booked for birthday lunch. Not much atmosphere as only 3 tables filled. No kerbside appeal - hanging baskets? Frosted glass awful, could be anywhere. Shutters maybe? Fresh flowers on tables? Tea lights? Ambience important to me. Staff pleasant, bit nervous. Chose off the A la carte menu but should have stuck to set lunch. Presentation of food was lovely, quality of ingredients good but underwhelmed with ‘flavour’ - not much. Chocolate cheesecake was superb though, best dish. £130 for lunch. Expected more.

We were really excited about eating here but we were both disappointed. The food is expensive… £34 for a duck main course and it was an incredibly small portion. The food was okay…. In both of our options it was under seasoned. £150 for 2 people for food that was just okay. Won’t be going back

My wife and I had the most wonderful experience at Little Seeds! Sophie was very welcoming and while we had a cocktail in the garden, we loved seeing Jake pick fresh herbs from the garden. We tried the taster menu, each course was amazing. Our server (sorry but you didn’t tell us your name) and Sophie explained each dish and paired wine beautifully. We met friends here as midway (sort of) between Liverpool and Bedford and the restaurant was in the Michelin Guide. Four of us had the set lunch at £35 head with extra olives on the table, a glass of wine each and coffee after. Bill was just over £200 which I thought was very good value for the standard of food. Which was five courses plus some small extras such as amuse bouche with the starter and petit fours at the end, home made and delicious. The courses included a bread course! But it was so lovely I'll forgive them entirely. Then two meat courses - belly pork and then chicken and to finish a divine chocolate dessert. The staff were very young and a bit nervous, but attentive without being intrusive. Overall a thoroughly great meal. My only feedback was that there could have been a little more vegetables with the main courses to balance the meal. Otherwise top notch.

First time visiting Little Seeds and we were not disappointed! Absolutely fabulous food and wine all beautiful cooked and presented. Service was good and staff knowledgeable and a warm and welcoming restaurant. I would recommend a drink in the garden where you can see the chefs herb garden again a lovely relaxing environment.

Took my parents mum here for Mother’s Day. We had the set menu and they both had the wine pairings. Each dish was presented and explained well. The wine pairings were delicious and the origins of each detailed to us. We had a lovely leisurely lunch. Cannot fault the food or the service. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful Experience for Mothers Day Lunch! First time to Little SeedS after a recommendation, found a really interesting menu with some tough decisions to be made ! Mum and I went with the braised lamb starter and Ray Wing for main, my son had the eggs and buttermilk chicken and dad had the roast beef. Clean plates all round .. really good service, tasty food and we’ll be returning for sure !!! Thank you !

We tried here for the first time and had a lovely evening. The food was very good though don’t expect big portions! We both left feeling a little hungry still. The menu is quite limited so check before you go that you like what you see. We only ordered one starter as the others didn’t appeal. My husband had the rigatoni which was an incredibly small portion for the price paid though it was well cooked and tasty. The trifle was delicious and looked lovely but again way too small. Lovely ambience and the staff were very attentive and pleasant.

Really good food at reasonable prices in an unexpected location. We went on a Saturday lunchtime and had a set lunch for £35. Though by the time we added wine, a cocktail and an extra dessert we had bumped it up to over £100 but still excellent value. The food is prepared with care and great skill, making the most is relatively inexpensive ingredients. Personally I didn’t love the poached egg dish but that is personal preference. And I think the passion in the kitchen is for savoury rather than sweet courses. Probably not for you if you judge by quantity rather than quality but if you care about very good cooking you will enjoy your meal.

Thoroughly enjoyable and outstanding Saturday lunch menu. I saw these guys online vis instagram and wanted to book a birthday meal for family to enjoy and it did not disappoint. The service was wonderful and we had the 6 course tasting lunch menu and every course was delicious. We really enjoyed the experience. Trying new food combinations and cannot wait to come back again. Just sad we havnt found Little Seeds sooner

We went here for Sunday dinner. It felt very safe and the service was very good. We ordered the malted bread with whipped butter to nibble on. It was to die for. Stones best restaurant. Our second enjoyable meal at Little seeds in 2 weeks. We had a drink in the new rear terrace which was bathed in sunshine and very relaxing. The food as always was perfect and delicious. Anyone tempted to venture out please take the time to consider this fabulous restaurant.

Both this time and the last time we have been the lamb dishes have been exquisite, melt in the mouth, to die for. We can honestly say they have been the best lamb dishes we have ever eaten. The desserts are all just a little bit different to what you get elsewhere, great flavours, almost too difficult to pick just one each.Well thought out menu, not a large selection but all beautifully cooked and packed with flavours. One of our group was coeliac and they took us through what was gluten free, or could be made gluten free.

Great find. Little Seeds gets it right. The ambiance, the service (more on that later) and the food is spot on for a neighbourhood eaterie: the chef is not trying to reinvent the wheel, not a foam or an air or any of that pretentiousness to be seen, just good, seasonal ingredients served with enough flair and imagination to delight. Nothing is offered 'three ways' nor are ingredients shoehorned together despite being incompatible. I am not damning with false praise when I say this is good, honest food. It's quite pretty too. In addition to the food, the layout is comfortable and lends itself to good times (this is not a culinary place of worship, you can relax). Staff are friendly, personable and efficient. Oh and it's a decent wine list with markups not excessive. Even the coffee was excellent.Little Seeds is our new local destination restaurant.

Little disappointed. Went after seeing post on social media that numerous diners hadn’t turned up for their bookings. Decided to go for Sunday lunch. Place pretty quiet and not much atmosphere. Set lunch menu different in some degrees than that currently shown online and more to the point there were several supplements for dishes which were the same as the online menu without supplements!!! The food wasnt that bad but tbh nothing special. I had lamb as main which had a supplement but didnt come with much on the plate (needed more veg) and the rum and raisin pudding was very bland and a teetotaler could have eaten without any guilt. Unfortunately what i thought would be a nice dining experience was left a little wanting

First visit - won’t be the last. Attentive friendly service. Fabulous, inventive, well balanced dishes. Perfect portion size. Mindful price point. Not pretentious or trying too hard - just honest good quality ingredients cooked with great integrity. Someone has absolutely got this right. A great eating experience.

Very pleased to be able to visit Little Seeds once again, after such a long break. Jake & Sophie have done everything they can to ensure safe social distancing and all Covid 19 Regs are adhered to . They have also spent the lockdown time in redecorating and redesigning the restaurant - to great effect. It now looks better than it has ever done, stylish, welcoming , and in these strange times very safe. The food was as good as it has ever been, as was the usual impeccable service (well done, Dan). A local restaurant offering modern twists to traditional dishes, using local - and often home grown- ingredients, and a young couple who provide professional service with a personal and friendly slant .

Me and a friend visited Little Seeds on 10th July 2020. Our food was delicious, as it always is, and the cocktails are amazing. The chocolate and raspberry tart was definitely a stand out!The team have made sure that they have COVID safe measures in place; and there is plenty of space between the tables. We felt completely safe and would definitely return here. Highly recommend!!

Following recommendations visited Little Seeds for a family Sunday lunch. Was welcomed to the table by friendly efficient staff supplied with drinks whilst choosing from an interesting reasonably priced menu A selection of starters were chosen but all but one selected the beef for mains. Buttermilk chicken being the choice of the other. The full range of deserts were tested. Without exception all dishes were found to be excellent in every detail and the service could not be faulted.

A very interesting menu, with beautiful food in a relaxed atmosphere. Proper, hand prepared food, not like so many restaurants nowadays that just buy in pre-made items to reheat. Attentive service. Great desserts, with some unusual flavours.

Been coming since these guys first opened but haven’t been for a while until recently. The breakfast is probably the best you can get in Stoke on Trent, puts Bear Coffee to shame. Both the food and coffee are amazing.

Called without a reservation for Saturday Lunch. Surprisingly quiet given the quality of food on offer. Pricier than the competition in Stone but a quality product.

My husband and I visited for our anniversary. This is my third visit to little seeds and it's just lovely here and never dissapoints. Atmosphere is delightful, wonderful courteous staff and beautiful food. Already planning our next visit!

Visited Little Seeds for the first time. Although the restaurant was very busy and we arrived early ! We were taken upstairs to a lovely bar area where we could have drinks until our table was ready. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly and courteous. The food was wonderful - we could not fault anything. We had an amazing time this weekend. The staff were extremely welcoming, accommodating and warm with each member of our party, they made really good conversation and were really attentive. Didn't catch the name of the waiter with brown hair, he was really good and made sure we were happy throughout the meal. The food was great with the steaks being cooked to perfection and a good range of options for all ages, we also opted for the fish (which was lovely) and KFC style chicken, with the chicken and chips both cooked beautifully. After reading some negative reviews of other customers, I must disagree. I felt for the fresh and tasty produce along with the service and experience the price was very fair and I would happily pay the price again for this standard of food. We will be back and recommending this place to others. Thanks for a wonderful evening!

Have just had lunch at Little Seeds with two friends and we all thought it was wonderful. It was the first visit for two of us and we all said we will definitely be going back. We all had a different main and pudding and they were all excellent. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the staff were lovely.

We have visited this restaurant 3 or 4 times and have always been impressed with the food and service and even told friends to go, that was until today when to be honest it wasn't worth the £63 I spent there, service good and nice atmosphere but terrible small portion size, starters was lamb belly fritter with black yogurt at £7.50 per portion, fairly tasty but very small portion size, main course buttermilk fried chicken with chips, coleslaw and child butter corn, portion size small, chicken was as if it had been re-boxed from KFC and I think frozen chips, was was good at £20 a bottle, get your act together Little Seeds from how you were to what you are serving now which is nothing like when you first opened, so disappointing

Live local to the area and have visited on many occasions for breakfasts but must say this will be our last as it doesn’t compare to the recent opening of bear (restaurant in stone) we have visited since it’s opening and I must say we really enjoyed the food that was originally on the breakfast menu. However since chopping and changing, menu is smaller, food portions are smaller and prices are bigger. I understand price of local produce etc but food must be executed to the price standard. I am no chef, just love cooking! I’ve opted for the veggie brekkie before and recently halloumi is not grilled/chargrilled (just barley cooked..) maybe a little char and chilli jam would be nice? Spinach (very little of it) doesn’t appear to be cooked in anything. Tomatoes looked like they’ve just come straight from the punnet. Husbands bacon not crisp. It’s just disappointing really as we love to support local restaurant and produce but just feels like a little more detail/effort could be made into breakfasts at least!

We went with friends to the Sicilian evening which they thought we would enjoy as we'd been to Sicily the year before. We had five or six small courses, each of which were delicious.

I was here with the same group of friends several months ago and again we were not disappointed. The set lunch of 2 courses at £22 (3 for £26) included a glass of reasonable sauvignon blanc. I started with smoked crab on toasted brioche and followed with belly pork with hispi cabbage and kohirabi. Both were excellent in taste and value and my friends had similar experiences. I feel that with food of this quality Little Seeds should have a higher rating.

We visited Little Seeds on the first day of their re-launch. The interior is fantastic, it really gives it a fresh new look. The new menu is very seasonal and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening there! We will be back soon, if you haven't booked already you definitely should!

We had a fantastic lunch to celebrate our anniversary back in July. We both had the same dish, a mackerel salad which is very unusual for us as we like to share our dishes! Cooked to perfection, it tasted amazing and you can see from the picture that it is exceptionally well presented. Being a warm sunny day, the doors were open at the back of the restaurant and we could see the pretty kitchen garden and even witnessed the chef picking fresh herbs and flowers that were used to garnish our dish.

We booked a table for 2, staff were very attentive and a nice little treat of an appetiser to start.

We went with a couple of friends for a good meal and were not dissapointed. Attention to detail from the staff was spot on as my wife is gluten intolerant they all knew and offered the available gf options. Staff were all enthusiastic happy and polite and the food was excellent both in presentation and taste. Definately one to go back to.

Booked in for a table of 2 on Saturday evening at 7:45pm. We arrived a little early, but this wasn't a problem, and we were seated straight away. We were greeted with a smile, and given the menus by a very polite member of staff. There was a lovely, chilled, serene atmopshere in the restaurant - exactly what we wanted on a child free evening!

Well what a fabulous night we are so loving these themed nights, the food was amazing and the staff were excellent couldn’t fault a thing very professional. The next one is a Greek night and we can’t wait. You can just have the meal or you can have the wine pairing which we always have it’s so lovely to have the beautiful wines with your meal, give it a try you won’t be disappointed. At nearly £28 you would expect some veg to accompany your fillet steak. What appeared was an onion and 2 small pools of puree. The steak and onion was cooked nicely but i would not call this a meal. Wife had the butter chicken that we would recommend and the puddings were nice. Service attentive.

Four of us had the set menu lunch, excellent value at £24 for 3 courses including a 175 ml glass of wine. The soup of the day was carrot and together with another starter of brown shrimps or falafels were very tasty. The hake (for three of us) was beautiful as was the pine parfait dessert. The service was friendly, helpful and efficient. Well worth a trip.

Visited Little Seeds for lunch with friends yesterday and was not disappointed.

We have visited Little Seeds on a few occasions, the service is always excellent and the food is fabulous, at a very reasonable price. Great cocktails too.

Little Seeds has really improved since I last visited, a couple of years ago. The menu is carefully thought out with some really interesting sounding dishes. It was difficult to decide with plenty of great sounding options to choose from! The food we ordered was very good and service was excellent throughout. Will definitely return.

Husband and I went for breakfast. Had full English breakfast. Best breakfast we ever had. Waited for about 10 mins but it was fine as they were cooking from fresh. Sausage-delicious, bacon-just crispy but perfect, poached egg-perfect, the rest can’t fault it. Service with a smile, lovely people. Deffo go there again.
