Steak night as it should be ❤️ fantastic food with a delicious bottle of white and red wine. The mixed grill was superb. Thanks Rachel for a great evening, already booked our next visit.

Attended 17.08.24. I have never had such a rude and Frosty waitress. Felt like I was at a branch of Karen's. The younger staff were nice and polite. There was an older waitress who made us feel like we were in the wrong being there. We were rushed to order drinks, meals and desserts. We were told the table was needed back. It wasn't at all. The lady serving was frosty to say the least. If I had been with a different group, I would have complained but she had already put a dampener on our get together. Sad to say that although the food was very good, I won't ever return there.

Lovely country pub, good food and service

Walked into Pub, was greeted and seated by freindly staff. Table was clean, venue was clean. Was asked our drink order and given menus. We ordered the beer battered fillet of fish with hand cut chips, also the smoked salmon and King prawn sandwich. The food was very good, the chips was soft and fluffy inside with a light crunch on the outside seasoned with sea salt, the fish was coated in crunchy batter but the fish was soft very good, was served with a very tasty tartare sauce and mushy peas. The salmon sandwich was served with the same hand cut chips, and a side salad, the sandwich itself was very refreshing, good amount of salmon and good size king prawns with a sauce and lettuce with a nice crusty roll. Overall good customer service, clean pub and great food at a reasonable price, they also have deals that run Monday to Thursday 2 for £25, Tuesday is 2 for £45 But that is steak with a bottle of wine. Will definitely return.

Fabulous chicken blackbean for me and other half belly busting gammon egg chips and all the trimmings absolutely delicious plates of food.

Happy staff, Friendly People & really nice atmosphere. we spent £47 and we had “big” portion meals, we could have shared, that included latte, 3 drinks and a side extra. Quality experience glad we come here👍☀️

The restaurant was busy but the service was good. Jane was very attentive. The food was great and well priced. They have plenty of deals on during the week . We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We visited for breakfast late morning, the food was lovely and presented well the only downside was there was a large piece of shell on the egg with the large breakfast. The service was not great we waited a while to order food, our drinks took a little while to come and our dirty plates were never cleared from our table while other tables were being cleared and relayed!

Excellent country pub and nice little find after a detour whilst returningfrom a footballtournament :) We stopped to get some food and drink after our kids complained that they were starving. We were all impressed by the quality of the kids meals and good sized portions which managed to sate the little ones bottomless hunger! As for the grown ups, we had lasagne and ham, egg and chips with both being good quality and home cooked. We were initially a little concerned about the prices of the sandwiches being nearly the same as the mains but the quantity would was certainly not stingy. We're now going to make an effort to come back here for somewhere a bit different.

Had a very nice Sunday Lunch. Meals were reasonably priced. Will go again.

Another excellent lunch time meal with friends. Chicken wrapped in bacon, black bean sizzler, gluten free chicken and ham pie all served and presented excellently Plenty of choice for desserts. All served by a polite waitress

Went here for a meal with friends last night, had the worst meal I have ever had. I have now got food poisoning and have not slept with pain and sickness. Attitude of staff isn’t good and main server slated her bar staff. Given dirty pint glasses with lipstick on and a dirty spoon. Wish I couldn’t have paid now. Will never return. Discusting

Popped in for Sunday lunch without a reservation and they were able to comfortably accommodate us. We both enjoyed our roast lunch, mine was a nut roast and my husband the beef. Our only complaint was the vegetables (carrots, cabbage, broccoli) were undercooked and hard. The service was efficient and the pub interior is comfortable.

Only called and had coffee, which was lovely, daughter had lasagne and said it was lovely. Really nice place and menu looks good too, will definitely be calling in again another day with family for food

What a lovely place, delightful bar area and the beamed restaurant had a cosy atmosphere. I had the pork belly on a bed of creamed mash, which was delicious. Vegetables were beautifully cooked. We all enjoyed our meal and would definitely return.

Had early evening meal tonight to celebrate Hubby's birthday. Food was delish, fish & chips with peas & a ploughmans platter. So filling & tasty. Will be going back, bonus that bar is also dog friendly.

I came across this pub while I was out on muy bike. I just wanted a light bite and the person who served me made me a suggestion of a chiabata sanwosh with roast potatoes and I thought “ it sounds good”. It was fantastic, well prepared and I was well looked after and also reasonable priced. Thank you I’ll be back with the family for a full meal.

Very nice cosy pub, staff were on the ball. Visited as a group of 14 and all requirements were met. I had a lasagne with a side of chips...... amazingly tasty, lots of meat and reasonably priced. The only issue we had was the car park was a little tight, not a lot of spaces. Will definitely be going again👍🥰

Nice pub absolutely poor service, sat for 1hr waiting for food, whilst tables thst came in after us got served. No apology just we will go see where your food is food portion was small and not value for money. Won't be doing Sunday lunch again

Food was very good, service was very slow. Staff were lovely just slow on service and not bringing drinks when ordered. Reasonable prices until properly checking the bill, and realising we'd been over charged (Own fault, should have checked properly before leaving).

Have travelled to pub a few times went Tuesday night three people complained....I had simple meat pie could not put falk in steak pie meat was like oxo cubes hard to chew did not complain paid bill and left waiter was perfect food terible

Great pub with proper pub food in addition to a wider choice. Breakfast, lunch and evening meal visits all with good service from helpful friendly staff and tasty food. Worth a walk from Eccleshall along safe country roads (not the main Eccleshall - Newport Road).

Can't fault it. First timers here. Very unassuming from the roadside but it's like a tardis inside and there's outdoor seating at the back too Service was polite as pleasant, food was "bob on" and we all enjoyed every mouthful. So pleased to find somewhere where you don't feel like you've chucked your money away because you can make better at home. We'll definitely be back.

We had a lovely Meal for my husband's 70th birthday everything was perfect.

Went here for my partners birthday, table for 2 nicely placed. Service was very good, attentive but unobtrusive. Food was very good and fairly priced for the quality and portions. Restaurant was fairly busy with a relaxed atmosphere. Decor is simple but classy and tidy. Well worth a visit .

This is well worthy of a trip out, food is terrific and not your chain type 'pub grub' but created with flair. Good choice on the menu and superb friendly staff. They have special's nights so check their website page for more details.

Situated on the A519 it does have a small carpark at the front and another small carpark at the rear, it does get very busy here as it was when I went for Sunday lunch and there was one space left otherwise you would have to park on the main road. Food was good and the staff were pleasant and worked well to see everybody was looked after.

Had a beautiful steak and Ale Pie with lovely plump chips and fresh vegetables..it was delicious!! The flavour was divine.. Hope its this good again because I will be back !!

Its a little old fashioned pub with a fantastic restaurant at the back. Its in the middle of nowhere but worth seeking them out! You wont be disappointed!

Fabulous food, well cooked and very friendly service. Our grandchildren love the place and we all had really lovely meals. Prices are average for a good pub, and there was an excellent menu to choose from. Will definitely be going back. Went again last night - same high standards even though it was extremely busy. Can't fault this great pub.

Lovely place for a beer and good bar food.

What a great place. After hearing good things finally got time to give it a go tonight. The food was absolutely fantastic & the portions were very generously sized. We had a grill deal night tonight and the steak was cooked just as I asked and all for a very reasonable price. Shame we didn’t have room to try a pudding The waitress was very polite and friendly too, a credit to the restaurant. Will definitely be revisiting here some time soon. Thank you A***

Having played darts and dominos there many 🌙's ago I knew there had been a few changes! An understatement, I had been informed by friends how good it was and I was not disappointed. I booked, probably essential if visiting at the weekend, the whole experience from start to finish was spot on. Service was great and not overpowering, great value for money. We shall return.

Myself and a group of friends visited for a Christmas get together. The food tasted exceptional, and extremely well presented, arriving piping hot, with good sized portions. We managed to get in at short notice and were not dissapointed. The staff made us very welcome on arrival and gave us the menu to look over. The staff came to the table to take our orders they were very attentative throughout the meal. We all had a three course meal every mouthful was enjoyed. We had cheescake for our sweet and the portion size was enourmous but we managed to squeeze most of it down. Will definatly be going back. The whole experience was a delight.

Came here for the first time in twenty years. The new layout is absolutely superb. What a fantastic pub in the best of the local traditions!

Always been happy eating here. But tonight the 16oz gammon was at least 6oz of sinu and fat, and tastless. I didn't complained because of the company we we're with, although my husband did say something to a member of staff, who thought he was joking! Very disappointing meal and we had brought 6 members of our family for their first visit.
