A great warm welcome, excellent coffee and extensive breakfast menu.

Popped in for a quick brunch and really enjoyed it. Good food and very friendly, attentive service. They provided detailed dietary information, with an allergy menu available upon request.

Came in friendly staff, they offer gluten free options, I only ordered a milkshake black forest one, wow is all I'm going to say. If only they did larger ones, could of smashed 2 of them 😄 will be ordering food next time, it looked tasty,

Great service, very friendly staff, lovely food, nice vibe!

Place is lovely and we've been several times but, today I made the wrong choice. I usually go for the quiche which is amazing, but today decided on the chicken and bacon sandwich. It came full of lettuce and sliced tomato which made the whole sandwich filling slip and slide. It also had diced beetroot which fell out everywhere which made me worry about staining my clothes. The sandwich wasn't worth £8.95

Have had many lovely breakfasts here and today tried their lunch menu. As always the service and food were first class. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. My favourite place to eat in Stafford.

Such a bright spot in a somewhat downtrodden town centre! We were grateful for the positive welcome and excellent service throughout and both enjoyed the vegan brunch, with coffee and cake after. We also benefitted from some tourist pointers and a wee visit to the Ancient High House museum. Thanks for going against the tide and delivering personable service and nutritious food to weary travellers!

After seeing reviews and wanting to support our local business,I called in today with a friend,and what an absolute gem of a place. Really happy staff,good menu and everyone that was there at the time,seemed very happy. Maybe F&B can teach some staff in other venues about customer service,and how to treat customer's that walk in the door.

Ten out of ten. What a great breakfast 😋 Beautiful little cafe. The nicest I have visited in Stafford. The staff were lovely. The Britania full English was the best I have eaten. Made with quality produce. I will definitely be returning soon.

Our kids woke us up at 5am. We were broken. These folks were so cheerful they really lifted our spirits and then they made us the most amazing breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Thanks for saving our day!

Fresh delicious food . Had smoked salmon salad and scone with cream jam and butter. Both exceeded my high expectations Very warm welcome and great customer service. Would highly recommend.

Had to go into town, so decided to grab breakfast whilst there. The service was swift and friendly and the food was great.

Beautiful location with a really friendly welcome. Sat upstairs and had a very attentive lady get us some water and take our drinks order. I had a tuna sandwich and a side order of fries, and my husband had the egg benedict with bacon. He said his meal was perfect, runny egg yolks and flavoursome hollandaise sauce. My sandwich had a thick filling of tuna mayo and really tasty. Will definitely be returning, a great cosy place for our date day brunch. Bonus was they had Brewdog IPA and an array of alcoholic beverages or coffee and tea options do something for everyone

Monet, has just sat down next to me with Renbrant. If only. Great place with artistic feeling. Thinking back, I did try to order another coffee but was rushed out. Haven't returned. Easy to park up in town. The rates must be killing trade as out of town places look to be popping up up.

Arrived just after 12, lunchtime. Greeted at the door, we were asked if we wanted lunch.we wanted coffee n a snack. We were informed that tables inside were for lunch and did we want to sit outside. I felt we werent given any choice. My husband is in a wheelchair, so obviously upstairs wasnt an option. Good job it wasn't raining. I shan't go back. This was our first outing in the wheelchair, very dissappointing

asked a simple question over the phone and got told to call back in 2 hours and the person was just rude.

Fabulous brie cranberry and bacon sandwich with chips and a nice wee pot of tea. Host very friendly, service very fast! Hidden down a side street make the effort to find it, so glad we found it 😊

This is a wonderful independent cafe in a lovely sun trap next to the lovely St. Mary's church. Staff are really friendly and attentive and really great with kids. The milkshakes are amazing btw! The food is really fresh and tasty, well worth a visit! Even managed to get myself a jar of the amazing Mr Vikki's chilli jam they have with some dishes. Been many times before and we'll be visiting again in the future 👍

Faultless service with a good sense of humor. Food was impeccable. No complaints. Reasonable portion size, reasonable cost. A small local cafe, with high quality food. If you live in Stafford and have not been here I'd recommend it.

Found this place by accident on the way to greggs from the train station. What a lucky find. Best BLT I've ever had. Great service with a very friendly host. Couldn't recommend highly enough. I'm rarely in Stafford, but if I find myself there again I'll definitely be stopping by.

Popped in today and had a light lunch, friendly cafe with a nice atmosphere, and good food. Exactly the kind of place we like. Great find, will definitely call in again next time we’re in Stafford.

My first time here and it didn’t disappoint, I had sausage and poached egg ciabatta which was absolutely delicious , I’m completely caffeine free and struggle to find alternative hot drinks when out but they had a lovely range of teas to choose from … the red berry tea was lovely. Will definitely return and highly recommend

I cannot rate this cafe enough. Staff are exceptionally welcoming and efficient, lovely to find people who take a pride working in hospitality. Excellent food and drink, well priced and beautifully presented. Very reasonably priced. Have visited several times as it's such a pleasure to visit. Clean toilets and well looked after premises.

Tim is an absolute legend. The food was incredible too and we had a fantastic time. Will be back next time we’re in Stafford. Service was quick. Food tasted great. The atmosphere and the service were incredible and we cant fault it at all.

Had a great experience in this cute little eatery. The service was great! The fish finger ciabatta and homemade quiche with salad were both delicious, and the side of chips really tasty. The iced latte was really good, and the white wine that was recommended was perfect. The fruity notes of this Sauvignon had perfect balance and lingered on the palette. I would totally recommend this place, and I will definitely return!

Found this place by luck more than planned. However, if you see in Stafford to visit this location, it is a gem of a place with superb staff, a great menu, and all at a fair price.

Lovely place. Lunch was excellent. Tim excellent front of house. Fish Finger Ciabatta and Bakewell Tart both really good. I was assured by my companion the Homity Pie was also lovely. Highly recommended.

Always someone friendly on the door to welcome you in and sit you down. Refreshing coffee and delicious food prepared promptly by a great team in the kitchen. Tasteful and refined aesthetic in the cafe with real nods to the history of Stafford and the owner’s family. French and Byrne’s is cool and original and fast becoming a regular haunt for me.

What a beautiful place to eat. The setting is lovely, very clean and welcoming. The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious. I had the brie and bacon ciabatta and it was heavenly. My husband had the homity pie and really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend this place and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely lunch on the terrace under the shady umbrellas. The man serving was one if the nicest I've come across. He even replaced my little boys milkshake when he spilt it. Made for a lovely afternoon

Everything was great, but I did find the whole experience very slightly overpriced, this could have been combatted by increasing the portion sizes which whilst adequate were not generous. Having said this I would return to eat there again. The ice cream was excellent!

Food & service good…. Table close to us had a child at it that dropped and smashed a glass… staff came quickly and told them not to worry, replaced the item free of charge…

Comfortable but noisier than I like. Got extra hot water to top up the teapot, that's unusual these days and very welcome.

Hungry for breakfast we arrived early at French and Byrne. As we looked at the menu we were greeted very warmly and were first in. The atmosphere was great and the staff warm and helpful and the food was good and well presented. This was our first visit but there seemed to be a few returning customers. I would thoroughly recommend French and Byne and we will be returning when we are next in Stafford.

Rude and disrespectful behaviour from the owner who maybe thinks he can say and do what he wants but telling a disabled women it’s not his problem vile behaviour….a business is made from reputation and repeated custom this one act of discrimination will be there downfall word of mouth is powerful!!

Stopped for a quick look at the menu when we were looking for a quick lunch with our 3 year old. The manager popped out and told us they have a kids menu and a table available if we were wanting lunch. We were seated straight away and served by a lovely lady who's name we didn't catch, but she couldn't do enough for us. Made conversation with our son, and when she noticed he was stealing cheese of his dad's plate, she brought him over a small bowl of his own for his dinner. We all loved our food and although we ordered small meals we all left comfortably full! Will definitely return, we all enjoyed our quick stop and next time we'll make time for a longer meal

Brilliant lunch from an excellent menu which caters for all tastes. Lovely atmosphere created by friendly and attentive staff. Always our first choice in Stafford for lunch or just a coffee and a scone (wholemeal and date are our favourite) If you haven’t tried this place yet, then you really should.

A real family run business. We love coming to The Grove and are always met with such a warm welcome. My favourite is the homemade soup, they always have a couple of delicious soups of the day to choose from, and the croutons are amazing! The Chili is a winner too, as are the massive slabs of chocolate brownies. They always have a few gluten free cakey things to choose from too, which are just as delicious as the non gluten free, so nobody has to miss out. We will be back again, and again...

First time here and was very impressed they were very accommodating with my friend who uses a walker. Two ladies in front of us who very kindly gave up their table to go upstairs so we could sit downstairs. The Lunch menu was excellent and the chiabatas we had were delicious. Service was excellent and we will definitely return. This place is a “Hidden Gem” seek it out, on a narrow cut through by Boots the Chemist signed “to the church”.

I have been visiting the Grove for over 50 years and the staff are always pleasant and efficient. Today my friend and I had a full English breakfast and it was delicious, everything cooked just as we liked it !!! Would highly recommend.

We were looking at the menu outside when a very enthusiastic man came out and cheerily said ' Come on in you are in luck we have a free table'. He showed us to a table and seemed to be a very pleasant person. In my opinion a customer should be able to make a decision about whether they want to go in to the cafe or not without interference from staff. We spent £30 for food that was not very nice at all. It was certainly not worth the money. The only nice thing was a really good cup of coffee. The weak and sweet milkshake had no flavour and was undrinkable. A child in our group ate a couple of mozzarella sticks bought in McDonald's as they are extremely fussy eaters and are vegetarian. The same man who brought us in came over to our table, where he then sat down in the spare seat and Very Loudly said ' Sorry but you can't eat Picnics in here it's for our food only.' We said 'Sorry no problems we will not let her eat them , she is a child and is a fussy vegetarian eater'. To which he replied ' We do Chicken Nuggets and everything and other veggie options '. I in turn said ' I beg your pardon we are not having any Picnic as you are inferring we have spent £30 on our lunches'. He replied ' It doesn't matter what you spend in here you still can't bring in a Picnic .' I got the child to put the mozzarella sticks away. He then replied loudly ' Oh eat it this time but please don't bring Picnics in here again its not fair to other people. ' I appreciate this cafe may not allow you to eat other food and respect that policy but this was Very Poor Customer Service as he could have said it to us quietly but instead he was speaking in a very loud voice and left us totally embarrassed as other people at neighbouring tables were staring at us and giving us funny looks. This man never shouted out oh you have spent £30 on other food he just shouted out about ' Not having a Picnic in there.' It was unacceptable to humiliate paying customers in front of other diners especially when he was getting quite a lot of money from us for the other below average food. A couple of mozzarella sticks can not be classed as being a 'Picnic' and it was a child eating them and not an adult. I found it concerning that he quoted they served 'Chicken Nuggets ' after we had explained the child was a Vegetarian. A waitress then dropped someone else's tray at the end of our table and the same man was standing close to our table but he did not say sorry about the loud tray landing on the floor at the end of our table. The men and women's toilets are in the same room and both men and women share the same sinks. Staff don't explain that the men and women's toilet cubicles are in the same room when you ask them where the toilets are as you just get told that they are upstairs. Not a pleasant environment for children using the toilet facilities. I definitely will not use this cafe again only to have some rude customer service member humiliate me in front of other customers despite having spent a substantial amount of money for below average overpriced food. I am not saying that the food was below average because a staff member was rude to us but the rating is entirely due to the quality of food that we were served. I cannot believe that it was the same man who embarrassed us in front of several other diners, and who had practically begged us to come in from the street as we read the menu and had appeared to be pleasant when showing us to our table. It was as if he had 2 different personalities.

I couldn't even call the food bearable. harsh but true. the members of staff had hardly any social skills as speaking quite loudly about a situation which caused attention to our table. utterly embarrassing. the chocolate milkshake had the mildest flavour and you couldn't even tell what the flavour was, it tasted of just pure sugar. not to mention it was also warm. definitely won't be back here.
