The Bakehouse in Stafford

I wanted to do something special for my parent's and so I organised an afternoon tea for them. Well I couldn't have asked for anything better and they were looked after tremendously, with fabulous food, atmosphere and 1st class customer service. Beautiful sandwiches, savouries, cakes, scones and plenty of tea and they thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Highly recommended for anybody wanting to be pampered.

Small but wonderful, The cakes are great as are the savoury selection. Not a big menu but what they do they do very well. Staff are very friendly and obliging, just been in today [Saturday] and the two young servers were superb. Well worth a visit - it's now our go-to cafe in Stafford.

Ann made my husband's birthday party cake and it was brilliant. It looked amazing and tasted delicious. The design was quite complicated but she stepped up to the task and created something special. Everyone said the cake was delicious. If you're looking for a cake for a special occasion then talk to Ann at the Bakehouse.

Great staff, fantastic cakes, good atmosphere. Great coffee. Not the cheapest but wonderful cakes. Handy, right in the middle of town.

I loved this place! It is out of the way of the main Street which is a shame because it definitely deserves more customers!! So much vegan options and healthy options but also glutenous options as well! I would definitely visit again

The afternoon tea that we had on Easter Sunday could not have been surpassed for presentation ,attention to detail ,quality,variety of components, freshness,quantities and value for money.Clearly a great deal of thought and attention to detail had gone in to planning creating and packaging this unique take-away. We would not hesitate to repeat the experience

Never again enough said if could see how things are done in kitchen you would absolutely never eat there again!!

Visited yesterday whilst having a day out in Stafford. Not visited before but will certainly go again. The staff were so friendly and pleasant in their manners. The food was delicious and lovely choice of cakes. We totally enjoyed our time there would definitely recommend a visit.

First time weve been here, will 100% be coming again, probably best tea,coffee we have tasted, food was perfect, staff very helpful and polite, service excellent and lot of home made cakes, nicely decorated will be first port of call in future when in stafford :)

Our group of 5 enjoyed afternoon tea in a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. The food and drinks were well prepared, and overall an excellent experience. Recommended.

We happen ed upon this little tea shop while in Stafford and as I am celiac places to eat were none existant. I spied gluten free on the menu so we went in. What a lovely place. Vintage feel environment, friendly, professional staff and scrummy food. I had chicken and pesto sandwiches with side salad and crisps and the bread was soft and fluffy. Usually gluten free is hard and has to be warmed , this was perfect. I also indulged in a piece of lemon tart which was lush. The choice was great , the food divine, the staff could not help enough and there was no noise or horrible cooking smells like some places. Definitely visit next time and recommend to all as wonderful.

My husband and I and our two daughters go in here frequently despite now living in Newport. It’s always a pleasant environment. All the staff are very friendly and the food is always good. The cakes are delicious. Would highly recommend

Went for afternoon tea at this lovely cafe. It's nicely decorated with a vintage tearoom style. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. The food was all very fresh, well prepared and tasty. The scones were served warm and melted in the mouth and the cakes were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place.

As we had arrived early,our hotel room was not ready,so we had a look around Stafford,a place we had never been to before.We were both a bit thirsty and saw The Bakehouse so went in.We were greeted by a nice young lady who showed us to a table a gave us the menu which was in the style of a Ration Book from the past.I had a very good cup of coffee and my wife a milk shake and we also had some very good home made cakes.Enjoyed.

I came again to my favourite tearoom, when I am in Stafford. This time I had the cheese toast and a pot of tea. It was lovely. You always see there fresh cakes at the counter, which is always tempting the only problem is which to pick. The staff are very friendly and if you are on your own. You don't feel uncomfortable here. They even do Cake decorating classes if you are up to it on Wed 7-9 and Thurs 10 -12.30. If you like tearooms this place is a for you.

Had previously found it a little tricky to find a good place for lunch in Stafford. No longer. Really enjoyed the food and coffee here. The cake courses look good too.

Lovely, welcoming little place. Staff friendly, food made to order. Today was very quiet, which apparently was quite usual. Nice to sit and watch the world go by!

Four of us went in for lunch at around 1pm. The tea room had a lovely, homely feel and was reasonably busy. The décor was attractive and the background music was subtle. All the staff were helpful and friendly. I had a chicken tikka sandwich which was spicy but not too strong, in fresh white bread, and it came with a bit of salad and some crisps. My tea came in a pretty china pot with a bone china cup and saucer, and a timer so that I knew when it was properly brewed - a very nice touch! Other members of my group had tartlets which came with salad and coleslaw, and dressing in a separate jug (much appreciated so they could choose how much or how little to have!). And lastly the fourth person had a focaccia bap with ham and mustard. They said that the bread was excellent and the quality of the ham was great. Their only vaguely negative comment was that they couldn't taste the mustard dressing. Espresso coffee, cappuccino and hot chocolate were all good quality. We all had cake to finish off: a yummy, moist chocolate cake with a good quantity of butter cream, a freshly baked pastry which was very well received, and I had a gingerbread man (only 30p because they were missing bits!!) which was deliciously spicy and I could have eaten lots of them!! Our bill came to around £30 for the four of us. Overall we were very impressed, very happy with our visit, and would definitely visit again.

very pleasant tea room, great selection of cakes an tea. lovely coffee and the little teddy shortcrust bear with the coffee, nice little touch. even had good oldies playing in back ground. reasonably priced.

We pass this cafe often but this was our first visit all because we wanted to find out if the giant teddy bear had been returned, so a charming clean small cafe, nicely decorated, menu looked good but we were drawn to the large array of homemade cakes... very delicious, good service, nice coffee, we will make this a regular, if you get bored of the corporate coffee houses, make a visit here, it’s a little gem

This was lovely for an afternoon tea, we ended up with Soup and a sandwich however they were both delicious, we watched the Teas unfold and wished we had gone for one Ha Ha

We went to the Bakehouse for a family celebration and had afternoon tea provided. The staff were lovely and so helpful. Food was fantastic with lovely personal touches like little photo biscuits of the couple celebrating.

I recently attended an Easter cake decorating workshop at this charming café in the centre of Stafford. Our host, Anne, provided a very warm welcome with a selection of hot drinks. She was keen to share our knowledge and answer questions.

We asked the Bakehouse if they could serve us Afternoon tea to celebrate our Diamond Wedding, this was a last minute decision. To accommodate us they closed the restaurant to other customers and served us a very enjoyable meal. The people with the assistance from our family decorated the place. For a small function I will certainly recommend this place.

I had tea and a scone with cream and strawberry jam in this pleasant cafe,served by a quietly accommodating lady.

Me and my wife always pop into the Bakehouse when we are in town and have a coffee or lunch. Its a great little place for eating or just a coffee and the staff are alway happy friendly and helpful.

Popped in for lunch and cake - really good victoria sponge, light and airy as very tasty. very friendly staff too.

We have been here a few times, it’s nicely decorated and a relaxing atmosphere with the old time music playing in the background, staff are always pleasant and it’s spotlessly clean.

I nipped in here on the way back from hospital for a rest. I'm so glad I did. I didn't get the name of the gentleman who served me but he was so nice. I had tea and a slice of their home made cake. It was so good. I'm going to be a regular now as I felt like I was at home. I'm going to bring my family and friends too. Thankyou

Visited for the first time today it won't be the last. Lovely cheese and ham tart with fresh salad and coleslaw served with crisps and tasty honey mustard salad dressing. Scrumptious! Coffee and walnut cake followed and it was a real treat. Everything was fresh and tasty. Very pretty shabby chic decor an loved the "ration book " menus. The lady serving was very friendly and welcoming. Thank you we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. This place is a little gem.

Popped in on a whim for a late lunch and discovered a lovely little tea room. It's a cosy place with a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is very good. Both of us had a sandwich on the focaccia bread which was wonderfully soft and a cup of tea. Very happy with the service, price, environment and will definitely be going again.

Went her today with a friend for tea and tea cakes. Really good choice of teas and beautifully well presented with lovely china cups and saucers. Lady in charge was really on the ball making a good job of training a young lady up.

Situated in the town centre it offers a homely and cosy place to have a break from shopping or to meet some friends.

I have visited this venue a few times, and have always been very impressed with the quality of the food, and the overall ambience of the venue. It is perfectly sited for visitors to the very centre of Stafford; the Market Square is just a few steps away. Some very tasty and unusual soft drinks are available..

From the moment we walked in everyone was really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They sorted us a booster seat for our toddler and directed us to the side to accommodate the pram. Then bought books for the toddler before our menus. The tea was lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed my scone

Wartime themed tea rooms, good atmosphere, pleasant staff. Homemade soup and roll, served piping hot. Very tasty. Sandwich fillings look good. They make a good pot of tea. Will certainly call here again when next in Stafford .

We popped in on a Saturday afternoon for a tea and cake pitstop. The cakes were delicious with a good range to choose from. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My friend enjoyed her cake so much she decided to take a slice home for her partner. I'll definitely be popping in the next time I'm in Stafford

Although this tearoom has been around for a year, I've only recently discovered it and has very rapidly turned into one of my favourite places to go!
