Absolutely awful experience. 1. Took 50mins to collect orders. 2. Drinks never arrived. 3. Food was so sweet, it was inedible. Who makes chicken Tikka masala with sugar instead of salt?! 4. Loud inside - people getting pissed on their own drinks 5. No receipt 6. Charged us the wrong amount 7. Service is unacceptable. - asked them 5 times for the drinks DO NOT recommend

Our Experience at Zayne's Indian Cuisine: - Service delays: Soft drinks we ordered never arrived, and the wait times were long, with food taking over an hour to be served. - Food quality: We specifically requested a hot and spicy chicken tikka masala, but even with added spice, the dish was overwhelmingly sweet—almost like eating sucralose powder. This sweetness seems to be a recurring issue with their curries, based on other feedback. - Bring-your-own-alcohol policy: The restaurant allows customers to bring their own alcohol, which is convenient for some, but it added to the bustling and somewhat disorganized atmosphere. - Overwhelmed staff: A small team was trying to manage a busy restaurant, and though polite, they could not afford additional engagement and attention to detail with so many indoors & takeaway customers. - Atmosphere: The combination of takeaway and dine-in orders contributed to a hectic environment, which affected the overall dining experience. Overall, while there is potential, the combination of long waits, inconsistent food quality, and the chaotic atmosphere left us feeling like the experience was average at best. The restaurant decorations and location is great and it would be fantastic to put it in greater value for its customers. Perhaps keeping the ability to order takeaway and the ability to experience indoor dining could be kept separate during certain times in the weekends to ease pressure on staff members, improve service and food quality whilst also leading to an increase in customer retention & satisfaction.

I don't know what's happened recently but I could easily have given 0 or negative stars. Have you changed chefs? We last ordered December 2024 after it taking a long time to find a decent curry take away in the local area. Our rice was like it was from yesteryear, the naan was very chewy and not nice at all. My lamb curry (gosht naga) was a generic curry base and saturated in at least two table spoons of oil which I had to drain off. The onion bhaji were shameful, the meat samosa were the same. My children struggled to eat half of the chicken korma between them because it was so bad. Maybe it was a one off? Or there has been a drastic change in the quality of food? I'm very disappointed and will sadly be avoiding Zaynes from now on. I suggest you find somewhere else if you're lucky for a decent curry.

I’ve eaten twice from this restaurant, first time a takeaway that arrived promptly and as fresh and as hot as it would be if served in a restaurant, secondly , ate at the restaurant, serving staff and food were again amazing !

this was our second visit to zaynes, our first visit was in december last year. the first time around my partner, myself and a friend had an amazing meal and once we had got christmas, new year, etc out of the way we thought we would see if the second visit was as good as the first, we were not disappointed. we were greeted by happy smiling staff and treated to a meal that was second to none. we could not ask for better service and better food and we will certainly be back for more. please keep up the standards and you will be the talk of the town!!!

Ordered at 7pm. No delivery by 8.00. Phones constantly engaged. Got through at 8.30 and was told it was with the driver. Never arrived despite chasing again and advising at 9.15 we no longer wanted it. Money taken from bank account. No contact or resolution. Avoid.

Ordered take away meal and website gave a delivery time of 62 minutes which continued to update and eventually went from your order will be with you in 2 minutes to your order will be with you soon. After continually attempting to call after receiving engaged tone, we drove to restaurant to find they had no idea what had happened, so we requested a refund that will take 3 to 4 days to be credited back to our account. This is not the first time we have experienced late deliveries or having to contact restaurant to enquire about our order.

Not the best experience. Have thought long and hard about the review and are usually very glass half full as previous reviews we have given have shown but felt disappointed in the experience on this occasion sadly. From the minute we walked through the door the staff were not very welcoming. No smiles, barely any dialogue or eye contact and throughout the evening waiters were rushed and seemed unengaged. We were served our starter fairly promptly but then we waited almost an hour for our main, which was excessive. It is due to all of these factors we rated service a 3 star which was generous. We rated atmosphere 3 star which was due to a number of issues. The inside door to the restaurant was fixed open so every time someone came in through the outside door, there was cold gust of freezing air from outside which made the meal extremely uncomfortable. We did ask to move as we were very cold but it was not possible. The tables were extremely close together so people on next table knocked things off ours when they passed by. In addition to the cold temperature the lights were so bright it really was not a cosy or pleasant atmosphere to eat in. We have rated food 3 star, which again was generous. The food tasted good, but was nothing special compared to other Indian restaurants or family meal curries we have had. Everything was extremely oily with oil dripping off the naan bread. On top of this, within a number of hours of leaving we both felt nauseated and suffered stomach cramps and diarrhoea. We have tried hard to see any positives in the experience but after having such a plethora of issues, we struggled to find 3 stars worth on the review. Sadly we won't return which is unfortunate as we are local and were excited to come here with friends and our children.

I grew up in Bulkington but have lived away for many years. When visiting shortly after Zaynes opened, I was shocked and very pleasantly surprised to find the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten in my home village! I’ve revisited several times over recent years and never been disappointed, but my meal last night comes soon after visits to the very best curry houses in Seaham County Durham, and Richmond Yorkshire. Wow. Zaynes is definitely head and shoulders the best. And it’s not just the food; the high level personal service from Sobz, Tia (who helped me choose an awesome starter) and Emma made the visit very special. I rarely write reviews, but I’m delighted after many visits to write and share this one, and strongly recommend Zaynes!

I would recommend Zaynes and they are actually open on Christmas Day! Which surprised me.So anyone wanting something different just book in with them.

Fantastic evening, the decor including the lovely chairs set the atmosphere in Zaynes. The staff are attentive really helpful. The menu is extensive, the food is delicious, each course we couldn't fault. Food, service and atmosphere exceeded my expectations. Will definitely go back.

charged 3.50 for tap water, then the owner was incredibly rude to us. the owners are lying in their response, we asked for tap water. We were told tap water was 3.50. When i asked about this to the manager, she was incredibly rude. I was not rude back, we just left. No one apologised for any behaviour as we did nothing wrong.

Ordered food for takeout following the recommendation from my parents. A warning - we ordered chicken tikka masala and chili tikka masala - they were both super sweet, almost like a dessert. The same can be said of the Kormas my parents ordered. I called to ask if this was normal and was told that masala was a sweet dish - although this was the first time I’d experienced it so overpowering that I couldn’t eat it. Restaurant looks nice and staff were very helpful and friendly, although didn’t really acknowledge my complaint.

Zaynes was one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve visited! The food was freshly cooked to perfection. The meat melted in the mouth and the sauces were superb. All the staff were very kind and our waitress Ellie was incredibly helpful. Everybody needs to go to Zaynes!!

Really enjoyed our experience at Zaynes the food is excellent and the service provides by Kian, Emma and Tia was first class. Kian even went next door and bought a box of after eights to keep us old boys happy 😊👍

We ordered a collection on Saturday night which our friends collected, when they got back we were missing a keema naan and all 4 popadoms. We tried to ring the restaurant 4 times but couldn't get through so lost about £7 and had to go without. Surely orders should be checked before being given out, not just send some of the order. Really disappointed as eating in the restaurant is fine. Lesson learnt but money lost.

I went here Saturday night with my wife. Food was exceptional as always. Very decently priced. Place was absolutely packed though which was very lovely to see in terms of the business doing well, but service was quite slow as a result. Can't knock them too much as many people were to be seen too. Great place overall! Very affordable.

To say that i have had 2 takeaways from here in the last 5 days should tell you that i think the food is great. Last Saturday the restaurant and takeaway was a a bit rammed between 5 and 6 so food took longer to arrive. Few teething problems i think but if the food is good then you can expect this. On both occasions the food was freshly prepared, tasty and enjoyable. I had the prawn karahi (think that's right) and it tastes so good. On my second visit i had the ever populat chicken tikka masala and the addition of the what i assume was coconut milk on top was a wonderful taste. run of the mill dishes are about 9 - 10 GBP. Note they are closed on Tuesday and only take cash (you can get cash from the machine in the coop next door). They are currently only using a cell phone for communication which i noted at busy times was allowed to just ring. I really hope that the food standard stays the same - we all know that success often leads to quality issues. Based on the footfall i saw this is a welcome addition to the local area. Just been here again on 6/4/24 and food quality is consistent

Disappointing takeaway overpriced and portion sizes inadequate. Especially the nan bread which looked more like a pitta bread. If you complain, you're met with hostility. This was our first takeaway and definitely will be our last. Customer care should be paramount and is not a priority at Zaynes.

Absolutely shocking behaviour from the Manageress who has no manners or customer care whatsoever. Just to let everyone know once they have your money your history. Our order was missing 2 starter's and one of the main course had more onions than chicken. The other dishes were swimming around in sauce full of fat. Their nan breads are so small you really need one each on top of the rice. Also no salad to accompany the starter that we did receive. After lodging a complaint we were refused a refund even though they admitted fault. We were were informed they would get the order right next time! I would warn anyone placing an order to use CREDIT CARD. Zaynes is not cheap and then when they fail to deliver what's been ordered they will not give you a refund. My son's work very hard and this was a special treat at over £47.00 and unfortunately Zaynes failed to deliver and apologise. Also No CREDIT from Zaynes is a complete shambles. To put it mildly without swearing. I wouldn't recommend this place after the vial attitude of the so called manageress. No decorum. Also they have been reported to Environmental Health over blockage of their drains. Hopefully the council will investigate this serious matter especially under the Health and Food regulations Act. I just wanted the locals to know if your having a takeaway CHECK BEFORE LEAVING. If its wrong don't leave. Your loss is in their their pocket no matter how small it all adds up. Especially at this moment in time when a takeaway is now a special treat. Don't let Zaynes take advantage of us as locals.

Had a takeaway, prompt delivery, food is amazing, very flavoursome, lots of variety, it was lovely and hot.

First time to this little gem, was a bit concerned as you always are at a first try but can honestly say the food was cracking. We visited on a Tuesday evening and the place was fairly busy. It's not licensed so you have to bring your own booze but if you forget there's a Co-op next door.

Never will I order from Zaynes Indian again, ordered food at 6.30, called at 7.25 to be told "it's just leaving the restaurant " rang again at 7.50 was told "it's on the way" rang again at 8.05 to be told " I'm sorry I'm going to give you a full refund as we never received your order 😡
