Proper pub feel. Just like the old times. Always a great variety of local ales on display. Glass bottles of Coca-Cola are the best. The atmosphere was very lively on Saturday night.
Walked in just after 4pm with my partner for some lunch. The pub had a daunt feeling to it when we walked in as there were only 2 people there before us and the bar tenders were just staring at us. My partner went to the toilet and I walked through to the restirant side. Cricket was playing and I leaned on the table watching as I waited for my girl. Bartender walked over to me and said can you not sit on the table? I said ok. After around 10 Minutes we decided to order drinks as I approached the bar and ordered the drinks he said can you remove your baseball cap. Even though my hat was turned backwards and was with my partner, it seemed weird. Even more weird because someone was already in there with a baseball cap, which I took a picture of when I was leaving don’t think I’ll be coming back.
I visited today with my Grandchildren. We were made very welcome with delicious hot chocolate. The staff greeted us immediately and took our order within a couple of minutes. Very friendly. Thank you
Well what can one say about this pub, I have visited this pub on a few occasions and the food has been very good but on this occasion it was dire to say the least, the gravy was the worst I have ever tasted, I ordered turkey and got lamb which I sent back after about a ten minute wait I finally got my meal but no apology no customer service, staff were scruffy. I think it has changed ownership as before it was very good food and service needless to say I will not be returning…
