This is a brilliant pub. It’s a classic, old-style pub that has a community of regulars and exemplifies how pubs used to be! The bar tender was welcoming, friendly, sociable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the drinks. The resident cat (of 16 years!) was a welcome edition. Never before have I been to a pub with a cat, and it brought me joy! For food I had the jacket potato with cheese and beans. This I thought was a reasonable price on balance of the quality and the atmosphere, however I would prefer to see more vegetarian mains if possible. The jacket itself, however, did not disappoint - it was thinly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the portion size was generous, including the side salad. The toilets were clean and clientele friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit and hope to re-visit myself when back in Birmingham!

Very nice little pub in Birmingham. Thr best part is by far the atmosphere and the feeling of genuine pub. You can eat, drink, spend some time and just enjoy the local feeling and history of the town in this place.

We were in Birmingham for the day to do some shopping and having a wander around and came upon The Bull by accident. But what a happy accident - beautiful old style pub with a great range of cask ales along with lagers and ciders etc. Really friendly warm welcome - feels 'old fashioned' inside, but in a very good way. We didn't eat but the menu seemed a reasonable price and the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked really wholesome fare. Plan to go back when next in the area. The Gravediggers 'Mild' was a thing of beauty!

N9t an easy place to find, but as back-steeet locals go, it's well worth seeking out. The staff and punters were all very friendly, while the beer choice was good and well kept. We didn't take any rooms, b7t if we had, I'm sure they'd have been as good as the pub itself.

My single room was OK small but so cozy, clean and comfortable, The pub itself is splendid - the staff are welcoming, you feel immediately at home; and it seemed to have a good bunch of 'regulars'; and with a good range of real ales and other beers as well. The food is good hearty pub grub. And it is so central - you can walk from the main stations As a solo woman staying overnight I felt really 'at home' - I sat in the pub back room doing some work in the evening while the regulars chatted in the main room. OK if you want more space and supplement-fresh decor , go to a hotel - and pay double - and spend the evening in a soul-less bar. This is not a hotel - it's more a guesthouse attached to a pub.

I was in Birmingham with my 15yo daughter for a show and booked this as the cheapest hotel I could find as was literally sleeping, breakfast then out. So you get what you pay for. The room, no 4, was a throw back to the 40s, marked taupe coloured walls and doors, but our room was a good size, a double and single, the bed was super squishy, comfy for me, patterned coloured duvet colour, gorgeous window lol, and large modernised bathroom, crisp white towels. It was clean and comfy, TV, tea coffee, it did what it was meant to. but if you like modern, neutral, don't stay here. As a room, no complaints. PROBLEM WAS... my booking said £5 ea for breakfast, book it on arrival, I did, then got a paper note through the door at 11pm saying "sorry, there was a miscommunication and there will be no breakfast in the morning". Luckily I always have biscuits with me so we had tea and bikkies in bed before we got dressed. Then we went to Wetherspoons 10 mins away! Not ideal, I wouldn't choose to breakfast there but it was a fix. I feel bad as I am more than happy to give my money to keep these authentic old pubs going, but seriously, if you commit to a service...deliver! The young guy who served us was very apologetic, didn't know and was super friendly. Hotel is 20 mins walk from centre of town and there is good manky paid parking 20 steps away @ £7/day (sorry for the blurry pics, taken from video)

Fairly convenient for the city center and reasonable rates but the plus factor ends there. Room was very small as was the bathroom and whilst reasonably clean it was showing its age with the decor and furnishing. Mattress could have done with replacing as you could feel all the springs. Room was stiflingly hot, ok not the Hotels fault but you couldn't really open the window due to the road noise from the ring road directly outside. Plenty of adjacent parking available but not the best of areas at night.

Paseando por Gunmakers Quarter, mi hermano gemelo Stephen y yo descubrimos The Bull Pub y qué descubrimiento tan increíble.

We visited this pub towards the end of our Birmingham ale ramble with Cheltenham CAMRA - I think it was one of those instances of keeping the best until last, even though we had already visited some great hostelries. This was certainly one of the day's highlights - yes not quite as extensive a range of ales as in some other venues, but a perfect pint (I opted for 'Burning Soul Hop4ward' followed by 'Fixed Wheel Blackheath Stout') poured by the friendliest bar-person (being PC) of the day. And the food was excellent too.Highly recommended - ignore the historic adverse comments as the recent change of ownership was clearly for much the better (and presumably all earlier reviews should now be removed in line with normal TripAdvisor policy in such circumstances?!).

This pub is a real Birmingham gem! It offers a good mix of perfectly kept real ale as well as some great world lagers. You'll meet the brilliant and attentive staff and feel at home in a great chilled atmosphere. There are 'pub cats' that are mostly found napping but sometimes roam about looking for some fuss, which for me adds to the experience, but that's perhaps not for everyone. I highly recommend visiting this place as I've thoroughly enjoyed drinking there both times I've been. It's worth noting, they do also offer a full menu of food, which looks great but I haven't tried it so I can't comment.

I was here for a short lunch after working at Aston University. The place is quite small and not very "visible" if you are not looking for it, but the food is nice, and the atmosphere is warm and familiar. Not the right place for a romantic dinner, but good for a lunch break

While on holiday in 2015 we visited The Bull on Price Street, Birmingham three times. The food is basic but very good. Good beer and fair selection of wine by the glass. However, the big plus is the character, history, and ambiences. This is definitely not a 'gastro-pub' with artsy decor. So, if you are looking for a good old English pub with quaint decor, atmosphere, pub grub, and a lovely landlady, try this one. You won't be disappointed..

Only 2 of the 5 real ale pumps on. Pub nice & quiet. Menu has gone up in price from my visit last year. Food most now charged between £10 - £12 of those I saw advertised on the day I went in. the black & white cat is still there, she’s been there years. The back dining area, have had their long benches & back wall seats upholstered. There is a small number of en-suite rooms available for guests to stay overnight. Pub is open 12pm – 11pm Mon to Sat only.

As good as ever. Marstons or whoever brews it now, Pedigree a decent drop here and the liver casserole always good on a cold wet day like the one of my visit. Recommended.

This is a quaint little pub hidden away in Birmingham. There is no pool table and there is on street parking outside. The outside has recently been painted and it is in keeping with a pub from a by gone age. On entering the seating is a little cramp and there are two rooms. One of the rooms has long benches which encourages conversation. The pub is clean with a more than friendly cat. The staff on my visit were very friendly and made me feel welcome. I ordered a steak and kidney pie which came with ample meat. For a City Centre pub there was no music and the beer came at a very respectable price. This pub should be visited on a Birmingham visit. I have now been to this place on 3 occasions and I will continue to return. Take time to look at the crockery on the walls.

I met up with a former colleague for a chat over a sandwich lunch. The landlady was welcoming and helpful, the menu and other diners hot meals looked excellent. The food and the beer were very good (as was the craic!). It is a bit off the beaten track, but popular with those who know it is there. I am told that it has a small amount of accommodation.

Not the best meal I've had, burnt lasagne as not what I was expecting, and it was tasteless. First and last time I'll be dining here, and it was recommended!!

I can't tell you what the place is actually like because after calling up and booking a twin room for last Saturday night 10 days ahead of arrival: when I called to say we were arriving at around 5.30 on Saturday I was told that there was no booking. When I asked to speak to the Irish lady who is the manager she said she didn't remember my call and had no information, that I should have called again to confirm (this was news to me) and then that she had had guests staying on in 'that room' due to bad weather. When I asked if that meant she did actually have my booking then she got quite upset, shouted at me and hung up on me. Bearing in mind I had asked if I could pay a deposit and how I could ensure she wouldn't give the room to someone else as I was arriving in the early evening in my original call and told not to worry about it, to say I was frustrated is an understatement. My partner and I were left high and dry in Birmingham on a Saturday night when I already knew all of the cheaper options were booked out. Don't risk it would be my advice.Very annoying, and incredibly expensive to fix.

It's the pub you will ever want to find along your road in a rainy day in Birmingham. The atmosphere is genuinely old-styled; ideal for a break.

I can't say I've tried the food, although the woman who cook's it is really nice - I'm not sure that's an indicator of culinary expertise. However, this pub's really special - great beer, friendly, the history, location, atmosphere. One of it's charms is that it's rarely over crowded, at least when I visit, but then that adds to it's mystic. If you're interested in checking out historical and interesting pubs, that are unique and idiosyncratic, I'd recommend The Bull. Warren.
