This is a regular café, really nice fluffy eggs and the service was ok Unfortunately they don't have non dairy milk or any other options Nothing special but not bad

Nice, bright n clean Café in Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is pleasant. Love the choice of Music played in the background. Food is good but slightly over priced. Each time I visited the food was served on a small side plate so one doesn't get much for one's buck. I guess if it was served on a bigger plate it'd look small.

The food was undercooked me and my husband have both got food poisoning from the food. The women who work in there were stuck up and rude. Terrible service. Will not be going back

Good service, pleasant staff. We enjoyed our coffee and tea and didn't feel pressured to leave when we had finished our drinks.

We called at the Coffee Cup for breakfast on the way to the city centre and it was well worth stopping. It’s a very clean, airy place which is ideal during these difficult COVID times. The menu is comprehensive and we ordered a small breakfast, and beans on toast with a poached egg on top with a pot of tea for two (we asked if we could change the small breakfast slightly with absolutely no problem) The standard of food and service is very high at Coffee Cup (for example, the poached egg was cooked to perfection which is not an easy achievement) and we will definitely return.

First time visitor, great food, reasonable prices. Bright and clean place, definitely won't be the last time.

Very friendly staff and delicious food at reasonable prices. An excellent cake selection and family friendly, space for single buggies and strollers. Unfortunately The Coffee Cup is not very wheelchair friendly as there is a big step at the entrance and it is possible to access the toilets. If you are a walker or able to handle one step there is enough space between tables to manoeuvre a small wheelchair.

Half term week. Dad taxi duties for daughter. Had an hour to waste do decided to pop in for eat. 1.30pm full breakfast plus black coffee. £7.75. Breakfast fine. Good portions. Nicely cooked toast. Asked for it well done. Was good. Coffee nice too. Pleasant service. Clean establishment. Popped in about 18 months ago and would pop in again. Good stuff.

The modern British greasy spoon serving traditional full Englishes at great prices.a lovely mellow atmosphere to relax; grab a newspaper, grab a loved one and grab a table.

I'm now a regular customer- along with my sister Nita. We have breakfast here before she drags me around nearby Aldi and Iceland to do her weekly shop. Sister usually sticks to two fried eggs on brown toast. I flip between the big breakfast and three fried eggs on brown toast. The owner (Dave) is a great cook. He'll do your eggs just how you like 'em and your bacon, too. We wash ours down with a large pot of tea and sister usually walks out with at least three portions of Dave's home made bread pudding. I have more self control than her but must admit, it looks VERY tempting. This place is well worth a visit. Very reasonably priced and a cut above all those plastic coffee chain shops. Give it a try - say Steve & Nita sent you - we might get a free cup of tea then!

Just bought a hot sandwich From here for the first and last time. Much more expensive than I normally pay so was expecting something good. Was terrible, sandwich was soggy, fell to bits when trying to eat and bacon and sausage was luke warm. Will never visit this cafe again

So fresh and bright in here. Lovely brand new pine tables and painted white chairs. The whole cooking area can be seen and it’s spotless. This cafe is so far ahead than other cafes nearby and it’s well worth a visit. I had a toasted bacon sandwich on lovely crispy toast with real butter and a superb cappuccino. If you are on the hunt for a cafe it’s worth travelling a little further to reach this one.

Another perfect sandwich from this place. Wonderful soft bread, real butter and tasty bacon washed down with a hot coffee. Thanks again.

Really nice food and lovely staff A+

First of all I have been there once for lunch and once for breakfast and I must say the staff are so friendly and polite, toilet is so clean and no greasy smell which I enjoy the service very much. Food presentation is good too, but unfortunately for the taste, I think they still need to improve. The lunch was a beef lasagne and it's luke warm and edge was bit hard (not sure if it's because I walked in 40 mins before they closed) and the cappuccino was so blend. The breakfast I had the large one. The sausage, black pudding were kept in oven too long that the skin and the meat turned hard. The harsh browns were chewy rather than crispy. These are my most favourite breakfast and it's totally ruined my appetise. But the worst was the cappuccino. This time I ordered a decaf cappuccino and it tasted water. For £2.20 a cup and the shop is called "coffee cup", it's reasonable for me to compare that to Costa/Starbucks but there's nowhere close - it's not expresso, it's just a very very weak coffee, it's really awful, totally disappointed.

Lovely homely food but the tables and chairs are a little too packed in so the place feels a little cluttered as a result.

Haven't been 2 this place 4 a while always had a lovely breakfast and lunch time sandwiches very clean place friendly staff a bit disappointed this morning tho our breakfast was cold the hash browns were the only thing that was hot 🤔

Excellent family friendly cafe, they have two one in Boldmere and one on the Birmingham Road both are fantastic. The owner is there in the mornings helping which gives it a family touch. The Birmingham Road branch is small but is very cosy the decors is great,seating is good and the atmosphere is good. Parking is ok as it’s free to park on the road and when you enter the cafe is always clean and tidy. Recently they changed the decor but it didn’t effect the opening times. My husband and I often have breakfast at either of the places and you can see the chefs working hard and taking pride in the breakfast they serve. They offer take away just in case you fancy taking it away. I was very delighted with the size of the breakfast the quality is fantastic and price is great. Food is not pre cooked and you can hear the chef cutting the mushrooms and buttering the toast from where you are sat. Every day the cafe arranges for the main newspapers to arrive so we get to read the papers before we set off on our day. Cutlery and Restaraunt is always clean and plates are warm which gives it that extra added touch. I think location wise it’s perfect if you are going to town for work as you can pop in quickly have your breakfast and commence your day. Highly recommend

We were on our way south heading for the NEC and due to an early start were looking for somewhere to have breakfast. Found this place on TA and it was lovely. I had poached eggs on wholemeal toast and he had the large full breakfast, which included 2 pieces of black pudding (I had one and it was lovely). Nice hot drinks and very polite service too. They appeared to be taking telephone orders too and the sandwiches were very popular. Will stop here next time I’m sure as it’s less than 10 miles from the NEC - very convenient.

I was ordering a healthy breakfast which was 2 poached eggs, fried mushroom, 2 bacon, tomatoes from a tin, baked beans, 2 peices of brown breads. The breakfast was ok but why it call healthy breakfast if the mushroom is fried and bacon with fatty on. The tea was poor quality as I can't tasted the tea at all evenue i waited for longer for teach to brew. Must be cheap tea bag. Good service from the chef, he was very kind. Over all, ok breakfast but could have be improved.

Went in with my son yesterday for lunch. I do really like this cafe. The service is always excellent. Warm welcome and very friendly staff. Cafe and toilet always very clean. Not a cafe you walk out smelling of grease either. Food always well presented, served hot and excellent selection. I had egg and mushroom sandwich, delicious and son had child's nugget meal. Homemade chips that I had to pinch one off his plate. Whether on your own or with company this is a lovely place to visit for a bite to eat or drink and cake. They have one in Boldmere too which I've tried for take out.

We popped in for coffee and cake. The staff were really lovely and helpful. The coffee was really hot and the cake simply delicious. The price was ok but it would have been nice for it to have been cheaper given that we are pensioners.

Wow it was just a toasted bacon sandwich but what a sandwich it was! Toasted bread that tasted like it had just been opened, real butter and proper bacon. Served with a mug of decent tea. Polite staff.

Went with my 7 year old son this morning. I'm muslim and it's difficult finding decent place for breakfast close to home. This cafe is great. Always a warm welcome. Very clean and no greasy spoon. Toilet very clean. Great menu for every apoetite and lovely bread not the cheap thin stuff. Tastiest veggie sausages and great value. Well organised in the kitchen area that you can view and the place doesn't smell of grease so you do not come out smelling of food. 5 hygiene rating which is obvious to see too.

Coffee cup has been on the high street for a while with a sister in Boldmere. I went there for the first time to sample their breakfast. Fairly simple decor with very much a cafe atmosphere. Tables for 2-4 plus individuals on high chairs at breakfast bar. On offering is an al-day breakfast, sandwiches, panini's, cakes and puddings. The breakfast comes in small, large and extra large with or without additional extras. I chose the £4.99 large breakfast and for 1.85 a cup of coffee. Breakfast was well cooked, hot and eggs and bacon tasty fresh. As expected rather than anything special. Eggs, bacon, beans, mushrooms. hash browns, sausage and toast. Generally OK for working breakfast or lunch, or a cuppa and cake to escape from the rain or shopping.

I had a very nice vegetarian breakfast.

Egg & chips for a quick lunch is excellent. Home made chips or at least they tasted like they were. The rest of the menu looked very appetising I must admit, very good service indeed.

I've been here a couple of times. It's clean and pleasant and the staff are nice but I can't say I overly enjoyed the food.

I have read some of the comments regarding this Café and I agree with them in most respects; clean, friendly, relaxed. Ah ,relaxed; in fact so much so that one can sit for forty minutes waiting for an ordered and paid for meal to be served . At the end of the " forty minutes", having finished the coffee that was supposed to accompany the food, I approached the young lady who had taken my order only to receive the response " what did you order ?". It appeared that my order had gone no further than the young lady who had accepted it. I then asked to be reimbursed for the money spent on the non existent meal and this was duly returned to me. I had my lunch elsewhere in Boldmere. Was the place busy ? No! not at any time; when I entered there were perhaps five or six seated customers and a similar number entered whist I was waiting. I shall not visit this Café again. Perhaps if those behind the counter paid more attention to their customers, process their orders with diligence and spend less on idle chatter behind the scene, errors such as this would never arise.

Tuve varios bocadillos aquí. . Desayunos son muy buenas. A la vista de todo fresco de clientes, personal muy amable, el lugar es impecable. Puede 'design' su propio desayuno, tienen una buena variedad de sándwiches, bueno para los niños. También estaba impecablemente limpio. Más que un café de base. Relación calidad-precio excelente si se considera que muchas personas se preparan para pasar la misma cantidad de comida de McDonalds personaje horrible por la carretera.

This cafe is the jewel in Boldmeres crown!! The staff are always polite and well mannered, the place is spotless, decorated beautifully and the food is of a high standard ! This place is not a greasy but a traditional modern cafe no fatty chips proper like mumma used to make chips which are one of the reasons I keep going back !! Worth a vist !! :)

Lovely little cafe. Had vanilla latte and sausage sandwich. Tasty and good value. Sausage could have been hotter but that's my preference only. Worth a visit to unwind or have a meeting.

It's difficult not to praise this 'morning to early afternoon' little cafe so much that the review becomes unbelievable! The first class breakfasts are served all day and there is often a 'special' for lunch. The standard of cooking is very high indeed (this is the only place I know that does a perfectly poached egg!) The staff are friendly and seem genuinely pleased to see you, and nothing is too much trouble. The place is always clean and tidy, and unlike some cafes, you will rarely find yourself sitting at an uncleared table even when the place is busy. It appears to have many returning customers which is always a good sign. The cafe is an excellent asset to Wylde Green's range of restaurants.

Come here pretty much every Friday. Really pleasant and cheery staff and food is good. We have a takeaway and order is always correct. Would recommend if near by and a bit peckish. Parking can be bit of a nightmare but part from that very good

We can not recommend this place enough, absolutely fab food and atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble. All the staff our welcoming.All home cooked food and fresh, omelettes are the best we've ever had, chips are hand cut and not the usual frozen ones everyone else use.From breakfasts to satisfy even the hungriest of guests to lovely combinations for the littlest fussy guests, attached our a couple of pictures of what's been in store for out little boy

We had a lovely breakfast at Coffee Cup in Boldmere wen we visited. We were looked after and made to feel comfortable and valued as customers. The food was superb, delicious and plenty of it. We felt we had excellent value for money, freshly cooked food and relaxed atmosphere, thanks to the staff, highly recommended.

Firstly, this is a review of their Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield branch, but it doesn't seem to be listed independently on here! We really wanted to like this cafe but it's just very poor. We've had breakfast here a couple of times (thought we'd give it the benefit of the doubt, as it was new), but unfortunately it's been horrible both times. It's not an inexpensive place for breakfast compared to other local establishments, but the produce they use ie. the bacon, sausages, bread etc. are all very cheap and nasty. I would be amazed if there is any 'meat' in the sausages at all. We won't be eating here again. Very disappointed!

Stopped by for breakfast on Saturday morning. The staff were very friendly and as we were planning on taking a shopping trip into Birmingham we asked the waitress her advice on the buses. She informed us the best way would be to park the car at Chester road station which is free parking and take the train in. Which is what we did and hassle free. The breakfast was excellent I had the standard breakfast and my partner made his own. Set us up for the day and they both included a pot of tea each.

We stopped for a cheese and mushroom omelette and a full English. The omelette was underdone, though the chips were nice. The full english was poor. Egg bad, badly presented (plate too small) and tinned tomatoes slushing everywhere.The service was poor, slow and disgruntled.The only thing in this place's favour is the prices aren't too high.

Went last Friday spur of the moment for breakfast. Have used this café several times in the past. The café always very clean and welcoming and staff are lovely.Good menu, plenty of choice and great value. We both had the small full English and comes with hot drink and toast, very tasty.Really recommend this place not just for breakfasts either.There is parking outside the front of shopping first come basis.Toilet also very clean.

This is a little, friendly, owner run, unpretentious cafe serving home cooked food. Their breakfasts are very good value and the big one has everything one could imagine, with black pudding and mushrooms, too. Always a homemade plat du jour - very good value and it's also a good meeting place as everyone is welcomed. When I take my granddaughter there they do her a 'special sausage' sandwich which is cut into finger sized pieces. Then, she likes to put 20p in the money pig and, invariably, she is then offered some Cadburys buttons!! Little children sized bags of buttons. A lovely touch! My husband and I have had egg and chips and their chips are the real thing. Lovely.

Like it here, more homely than the plastic coffee shops we have everywhere. Sell proper food, well cooked and well presented. Nice people.
