We came to the dum post for lunch and I have to say the service and the food was top notch. Jessie and Tina were fabulous, they made us feel very welcome and there were smiles and laughs all round. I would recommend to anyone wanting a nice drink or a delicious meal. !!!

Dropped in for breakfast and coffee! Boy are we glad we did. Had a lovely breakfast and then a wonder around the gift shop afterwards. Throughout we were met with a smile and a warm welcome on arrival. Especially the girls in the restaurant. Special mention to the lovely lady in the gift shop also who was warm and welcoming where we asked questions about the farm shop. The owner/s should be very proud of what they have achieved here. The gift shop is beautiful. Amazing eye for detail has been applied in the shop. Going to be making more visits to this little beaut more often when we visit again. Well done to you all 👏🏼

What a lovely place to stay with great hosts - peaceful and well appointed with an extremely large but delicious breakfast

We are staying here for a friends 50th birthday. The hotel is lovely and the room great. We could have gone the the nearby pub but due to time constraints we decided to eat in the restaurant. Betti, thank you for your excellent service and banter, you were a delight. However, the food. At the prices they charge, this was underwhelming and miniscule. The chicken burger (£17) had barely any chicken in. The 'Jengy chip' take the pi$$. They were bare cooked once, let alone "triple cooked". They were half the size of normal chips of this type, which is puzzling as they can't cost much? The fishcake (£17) was just a deep-fried (suspect frozen) fishcake with an egg on. We ordered the triple cooked chips as a side for £6.50 (!). Any chip shop would be in horror at abomination we got for this financial outlay (and as we know they're not cheap these days!) I feel ripped off. Avoid if you can. (the afternoon tea looked really nice) Over and out

We were staying at Bowood for a birthday treat and had dinner and breakfast in the Shellburne Restaurant and found Rotherhithe dinner to be more than I anticipated. Simply put it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The food was outstanding, I had the Cornish crab and my wife the lamb croquet which were fantastic, a cleaned plate was testament to that. It was followed up by the beef which was cooked to perfection and a delightfully tasting Diane sauce. My wife had the pork belly, yes, cleaned plates again. To finish I had the tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream. It truly was a lovely dessert, not sweet at all. My wife had the bread and butter pudding with honeycomb ice cream, again, not sweet. Service started a little slow but they were full. Wine was good, the house red really was a great choice. Great cocktails to start. Overall a fantastic visit, would highly recommend.
