Highly recommended, stayed here just for the evening but after realising i had left something behind, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, posting my item back to me. Great service, good people, fabolous food and a fantastic place.... many thanks !

This is a really nice country pub with guest rooms and a restaurant. It's located in a very rural area and a very quiet area which really suits me. The hotel rooms are nice complete with bathroom, they are very well kept. Mobile signal in this area is a bit flakey but the hotel does have decent WiFi. Staff are very friendly and polite the room does get quite warm in the summer months and could do with air conditioning but otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

Went for a family birthday and enjoyed a perfect celebration. The food was outstanding and the service was calm and friendly. There was a real buzz in this busy pub and the atmosphere was a surprising combination of vibrant yet relaxed. Simple menu at great value.

Having heard about this place, we decided to pop in and try their wares. We both had white chocolate and raspberry brownies and coffees, something quick as it was nearing closing time. The boss had a decaf cappuccino without chocolate and I had a flat white. The cappuccino was rather milky, not seeming to have much coffee in it, but a word with the young lady behind the counter saw a double shot added to the cup. I'd offered to pay but she kindly refused payment. Excellent service. The menu was far more extensive than just sweet treats (savouries such as all day breakfast, bagels, pancakes etc), so another visit will be in order! Despite several road closure signs from Foxham village, the premises is on the Foxham side of the closure and roadworks, so carry on until you reach brownie heaven!

What a lovely place to stay with great hosts - peaceful and well appointed with an extremely large but delicious breakfast

Booked Bowood Shelbourne never having been before. Expectations were high for Easter Lunch. Food was very acceptable but nothing special- slow service - not a problem really. I ordered pork - where’s was the “puffy crackling” had to ask for it - not puffy- skin - requested another - ok. The apple sauce never arrived …. Service staff were lovely - very ameanable. Surprised to be billed for tea & coffee when it was a charged for an all inclusive menu - attention to detail is paramount - don’t promise what you don’t deliver… All in all will probably return but ….

Our first and much anticipated visit to Bowood for Easter Sunday Lunch. Surroundings are lovely - staff very pleasant and whilst lunch was ok we were left feeling a little frustrated. i If you offer Pork with “puffed crackling & apple sauce” then serve it! I received neither. After requesting crackling - it was just roasted skin - not eatable. Tea /Coffee and petit fours included in cost - but we were then charged for the tea & coffee. A Lack of attention to detail I’m afraid - we really felt uncomfortable having to keep bringing such simple things to the attention of staff. Not sure if we would repeat the 1 hour drive based on todays experience - a shame as we were hoping it would become our new ‘go to hotel and restaurant’
