The best restaurants in Okehampton West West Devon South West

This restaurant was popular, but,being quite small, has CLOSED at this spot, but HAS MOVED to FORE STREET about 300 yards to the East, near the East Okement River, and its name has changed to " The Allotment ", as it uses food all supplied locally. I highly recommend it for a smiley welcome & good wholesome food. Now sells jams & preserves.

Finally a coffee got for coffee divas like us! Oat flat white made properly. Nice people - and pleasant people watching from outside table in The Arcade!

Fui detenido y literalmente en viviendo el momento para un bocado ligero y nos encontramos con una cordial bienvenida. El lugar estaba a tope y después pedir del menú (creo casero comida de la cafetería) que comimos y disfrutamos y, a los parroquianos y nattering averiguar lo que estaba ocurriendo localmente. Gran loos también! Todo muy limpio y ordenado.

The "tea for two" is a generous lunch. Highly recommended. Really nice. Great service. Homemade everything. Delicious and a good price as well.

Stopped here after walking on the moor. Pleasant staff, good service and very nice meals. I had a burger and the portion size was large with lots of added extras. A great place to stop for a drink or a meal. Would recommend.

3rd time here Colin and Natasha give you a warm welcome The rooms are excellent and very clean. Food at night is really good well worth eating there. Breakfast is also first class .The location is also good just a few minutes of the A30. Thank you both for a good break. Will see you again

We went here for lunch today. It was the best fish & chips I've had in years! Really lovely and friendly, nice dining area and good value...superb. Would definitely recommend.

I went in here to meet a friend and I wanted a milkshake, I was tutted at and then charged £4.50 for a glass of milk with flavouring added to it. I was not happy.

Had a couple of takeaways in the last month. Ma'ida has definitely got a new chef, the improvement is dramatic. Presentation and taste have soared. I had almost given up on getting a decent Indian in the district, not anymore. Take my advice and give it a try.

After booking for 7 it seems they forgot about us. Rushed a table together in a space that couldn't squeeze a hobbit into, after moving us we sat to eat an waited for my autistic sons separate order of fish fingers and chips, after his food arrived an we was all finally eating the staff kept coming over to us hoping to hurry us up as they had clearly overbooked the restaurant, after the 6th time of a member of staff coming to try an clear the table when we had not finished I'd had enough an left. All they did was put pressure on us to hurry up an eat our food. I'm disgusted the way they also spoke to a couple of paying customers also in the restaurant. I will never recommend or use this restaurant again. Food was substandard and the buffet deserts was non existent. Complete waste of 140 quid!!!!!

Been intending to try this little cafe for ages. Not disappointed! Friendly service, great coffee and lovely breakfast baps. Will definitely be back.

It would be 5 stars across the board, but they have no disabled access as its upstairs.

So we had googled dog friendly places to stop for food on our way home from Cornwall. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 dogs. Definitely not dog friendly. When we arrived out of courtesy I asked a waiter of it was ok to come in with dogs he very rudely said as long as they don't make a sound I said well sometimes dogs do bark we looked at each other and said shall we go somewhere else . He then said its OK you can sit over in the corner . We reluctantly went in as my elderly father in law is diabetic and needed to eat . We ordered at the till and the same waiter was rude again . A young man brought our drinks over and just dumped the tray full of drinks onto the table with no words spoken to us . The food came very quickly which was good as the staff kept staring at us so we wanted to get out as soon as possible . The lady who brought our food was quite pleasant . We felt very uncomfortable being stared at by the staff while we were eating . The food wasn't great and we would never go there again or suggest that anyone else does if it were an option I would give no stars at all
