The best restaurants in Lydford West Devon South West

Nothing to fault. Staff were lovely and so was the coffee. Prices are very reasonable. Clothes to browse too. Very clean. Will definitely return if in the area.

Another fabulous meal at the Dartmoor Inn. Consistently delicious food, beautifully presented. We always look forward to our visit here, and we've never been disappointed! See you again very soon!

Visited recently for Breakfast, prompt service albeit it a little abrupt - could be a little more friendly and welcomong. Partner had Large Breakfast, I opted for Small Breakfast, both came with a juice and hot drink. Bacon was very tasty. Obviously a popular choice for those on DofE training weekends. Dog friendly - there were lots of dogs in the cafe on our visit - we were probably the only table without a four legged companion.

I’ve come to this shop hundreds of times and it’s always excellent. The staff are always lovely. The food is always great The coffee is always on point They stock a lot of local food and drink you can buy as well If you’re going on to the moors for the day this is the place to get breakfast If you’ve been on the moors all morning this is the place to get lunch

we stayed one night and will certainly return. candlelit tea by the fire with the christmas tree twinkling was fantastic. honeycomb served at breakfast from their own bees was delicious. room was well lit and the products in the bathroom were really good.

Stopped over at Powdermills Pottery on our way home from Cornwall. What a wonderful place this is: we had hot Chocolate , coffe and a delicious root soup (no scones on the winter menu) and an insightful chat next to a crackling wood stove fire and came away with a beautiful piece of Joss' pottery and the firm plan to come back for one of her pottery courses (this was not a result of hard selling but pure enthusiasm on our side :-)

The staff are extremely attentive and friendly. Lovely warm vibes and delicious food. It was my partners birthday so I treated him to a 4 course meal, bed and breakfast. They even made him a special birthday dessert with out my request. So very thoughtful. We also had the pleasure of a pianist whilst dinning.

Great food at a good price. Lovely country pub, full of character.

Plate too small for the burger, which was tasty. Very disappointed with soup of the day.

Good pub food, friendly service

Popped in there during a tour of Dartmoor on a cold February day. We were advised to take a seat where a very friendly waitress gave advice on menu choices and served our food. The menu was extensive with something for everyone. With only a short waiting time, two generous, well cooked, tasty meals arrived.. I would heartily recommend this venue.

Atmospheric pub right in the heart of the village but the old castle and Norman fort, five minutes from Lydney Gorge and the stunning Brentor. Roaring log fires and great pub garden with covered seating and blankets too.

Loved our stay at the Inn. The staff were lovely & welcoming with lots of local information about where to go & what to see. The food was great. The room we stayed in was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast next morning was also excellent. Location of the Inn is perfect for walkers, bikers & travellers in general. Highly recommend a stop here.

Good Food, good location, good customer service and very pleasant surroundings. Would definitely stop by again for a meal if we're in the area

We came for Saturday lunch after a beautiful walk to Wistman's Woods. Staff were very friendly and efficient and even though it was busy and we hadn't reserved we received a table in the restaurant. The menu was varied and the food was wonderful. This accompanied by their locally brewed Ale made our lunch memorable. We came back in the afternoon after another long walk and enjoyed their lovely scones and tea and took a souvenir pack of their Ales On Sunday we returned and even though their Sunday roasts were fully booked we managed to get a seat and enjoyed the light lunch menu, consisting of homemade sausage roll, quiche and a very delicious soup. Compliments to the chef!
