Two Bridges Hotel Restaurant in West Devon

Had a delicious cream tea there. An enjoyable visit. Helpful staff.

Pricey but cream tea was nice. Guy taking orders behind the bar was horrible and his attitude stunk, what a complete knob.

Had a cream tea at the Two Bridges today it was lovely the Scones were warm very large and a good portion of jam and cream would highly recommend 😋

Only had coffee but the service was good and the whole site is beautifully presented.

Lovely old traditional hotel on the Moor. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and rooms are a good size.

Excellent food and service. Callum in particular went above and beyond to cater for us and ensured we could drop our bags after a long through hike and booked us in for lunch. The atmosphere is wonderfully cosy with an open fire and wonderful hints to the pub's history. The food was delicious, burgers all round which came quick and hot. I have to say, the triple cooked chips are pretty unforgettable. A pub that's doing it right.

Really good place to stop & get some refreshments if your out on Dartmoor, really friendly staff. I had a pasty & a pint which went down well whilst relaxing for a bit by the open fire. Great location & views to, we will definitely visit again if we're out this way again 👍🏻

Definitely in my top 10 pubs. Such a lovely atmosphere, situated right on the west dart so ideal for a stop during a days fishing. Great local ales and super friendly staff. I can only imagine that both the rooms and food are fantastic but I am yet to sample either!

Fantastic Sunday lunch - excellent service, beautifully presented delicious food and very good value. Piano tinkering away in the background. A real treat, we couldn’t fault it!

Nice traditional country hotel. Liked the touch for doggies staying....complimentary, biscuits , bowl, ball and poo bags ! Rooms a bit pricey. Great surroundings!

Nice cozy place, lovely service, great food, amazing ambience, loved the working fire places. Collection of clocks is impressive and located between 2 functional bridges is quite a sight. There Soup of day is quite popular, served with nice bread it's quite feast to palate.

It's a quaint, traditional place with a dog-friendly policy. The food is lovely and the lavatories are clean. Lots of parking outside. Lovely walking from all around the area

Meeting up with friends from Surrey (and their well-behaved dog), this was the perfect place for coffees, followed by lunch, followed by more coffees and chat on the sofas. Good food and friendly, attentive staff.

Very posh pub! Stopped by on a 2 day trek and felt quite out of place. Drinks are a good price 🍺

Die Location ist sehr schön. Zwei historische Brücken. Das Parken ist kostenfrei wenn man im Café Restaurant etwas konsumiert. Wir haben jeweils Kaffee und Kuchen im Park genossen. Mit schönem Blick auf den kleinen Park.

£9 for a fish finger sandwich and that is all you get. No garnish, no salad etc, and only two tiny pieces of fish. £5 for a side of chips also over priced. In summary over priced food all round.

Stopped here for some lunch. Sat outside and enjoyed being on the moors. Food was extremely good, with Dad giving his locally caught fish and chips with home made mushy peas and rosemary chips a 12 out 10. Looking forward to going back.

Very pleasant Sunday lunch. A busy Father's Day, with a pianist to accompany.

We went during the week when it was quiet and ate in an alcove of the bar. Even though we were tucked away the service was excellent. The food was beautifully cooked but at the top end of what we would normally pay in local Devon pubs, however this is a hotel in the middle of Dartmoor and we have eaten here before, so the price was expected. This is not somewhere we go that often, due to it being about an hour from us, so we save it for an occasion like a birthday. We do call in quite often if up on Dartmoor for a cream tea, which we think is the best in Devon.

The setting is beautiful, stopped for a drink with the children, plenty of seating and parking. Perfect by the river.

Lovely scenery both in and out of the building, staff very polite and well dressed, open plan lounge seating area with wood fire place. Good selection of local ales, child and dog friendly.

After a long day the Two Bridges Hotel 🏨 was a nice restful place to be, very cosy, and warm. The staff are Very nice and helpful too...

Brilliant place for comfortable coffee

We felt very out of place. We didn't eat, only had hot drinks and cake. Big family meet up and we were made to feel very uncomfortable. Service was ok, but something felt wrong, tutted for making too much noise. I'm sure it was an off day but something felt wrong.

Stopped for coffee & cake, early afternoon quiet time of day. Lovely fire in reception. Pet friendly. Gets really busy at the weekend. Old style hotel feel.

Popped in for a pint on a wet, windy walk across the moor. The pub just emerged from the mist and it felt like we'd gone back in time. It's very cosy inside with big leather sofas and open fires. Dartmoor ales on tap. Bound to go back.

Visited The Two Bridges for Sunday lunch with my husband and 2 daughters on a wonderful summers day. The staff were lovely, the surroundings, in the heart of Dartmoor, stunning. The food consisted of Pea Veloute, prawn and crayfish cocktail and a ham and chicken terrine. For the main course we ordered roast beef and roast pork. These were accompanied by fresh vegetables and cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips. Unfortunately the roast potatoes, on all of our meals, were rock hard and quite inedible, however as everything else was so great it made no difference to our enjoyment. In the dining room was an accomplished pianist. A classic touch. We look forward to returning.

One of my favourite places, last night was the first time that we stayed in the hotel, but we have eaten on several occasions.

Wir haben nicht übernachtet, sondern nur einen Kaffee getrunken. Das Hotel, die Lobby und die Bar machen aber einen sehr netten und gemütlichen Eindruck. Der Kaffee war gut, das Personal freundlich und die Umgebung sehr nett.

Beautiful old hotel in the park, with hips of history. We loved driving over the old bridge, and feeding the geese. Specially the one with odd feathers. Great location by a river. We that Mondays & Tuesdays they only serve drinks to the hotel guests. Bit odd but... Dinner time it was very busy, so do recommend to book in advance. The dishes were delicious.

Incredibly accommodating to our group of very wet hikers! The hot tea and scones were just what we needed.

Lovely interior. Helpful staff . Cream Tea was delicious and good value. 2 out of 3 toilets were out of order. Out of hotels control but it sits on a busy road.

Pretty poor fare considering the price and target trade. We went Sunday pm for familly lunch b4 dog walk. We got the wrong menu initially which is no great shakes, but when we got the correct one, the limited poor snack options were mostly not available. Then when we accepted our fate and just got on with it, we found that the replacement we'd been offered was also not available and we are talking about chips being the first choice with onion rings being second, neither of which we could have and so we had roast potatoes with brown water (apparently called gravy though I've never seen the like) So, we went in anticipation of a nice Sunday roast and left having had a dreadful pasty and some roast potatoes and paid handsomely for the privilege... Very poor!

Quite pricey, but you're paying for atmosphere & service. Chowder (or Cullen Skink as had no corn) to die for, fish & chips ok, but really spoilt for us by the Herby chips (left on plate)

Very good scones, jam & clotted cream.

Excellent cream tea with home made scones. Ate them while watching Tour of Britain bike race pass by. Also good service.

Such a beautiful place. Situated in the glorious Dartmoor national park and very picturesque and quaint. Not a great choice of food left according to the staff they seemed rushed off their feet and bit tired however the hotel was lovely and what I ordered (quiche) was delicious. They have geese running around and generous outdoor seating I would visit again for sure and probably stop over a night. Would recommend

Frustrating! Ate outside. Inconsistent service. At least two of their staff said they’d just started and didn’t know what they were doing (staff training?). Other tables managed to order outside but we kept being directed indoors to queue at the bar. Half our drinks were delivered to another table (not even what they ordered). Food wasn’t bad though pretty much all of the lunch menu was in or on bread, one way or another. Sadly, sold out of cream teas just before we could order them.

We booked a table for Sunday Lunch, and were definitely not disappointed. The service was excellent, staff very attentive and polite, the food was very well cooked, tasty, and totally to our satisfaction. Good Covid-19 rules and safety in place. We would certainly go back again, and thoroughly recommend to others. Lovely riverside setting out on Dartmoor.

For me there was a lack of choice on the menu, slow service.

Great place for food and drinks on the river Dart

We had a lovely cup of tea. Great for the kids as there were sheep, lambs and ducks there. Shame the weather was so rubbish! Will go again when weather is much better!

Wir wollten hier einen cream tea nehmen. Covid-bedingt sollte man am Eingang warten, bis man zu einem Tisch geführt wird. Dort wurden wir aber einfach stehengelassen und konsequent vom Personal ignoriert, welches mehrfach hochnäsig vorbei trabte. Haben dann eine andere Lokalität aufgesucht. Nie wieder!

I've been coming here for years after walks but since becoming vegan several months ago I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. The lunch menu has no vegan options and the only dairy alternative is soya milk.

Called in for lunch travelling through Dartmoor, had a beef and ale suet pudding and mash with veg. Was quite expensive and was amazed at what was served, looking forward to a filling meal but what I got was the size of a starter, ok was very tasty......but not very filling. Not sure I would return ?

This hotel is fairly close to Dartmoor prison. This strikes me as convenient, as it seems like some of the staff could have been convicts, given their rude manner. On the other hand, the food was very good, so at least the kitchen seems to be doing the job properly. By the way, this is not a family friendly place. Definitely for tourist couples and those well-to-do folks with second homes in the area.

Lovely location, very tasty food, locally brewed, tasty beer, reasonable prices. Long queue for bar and food excusable because of busy Bank Holiday. Recommended!

This hotel is the sort of place that just before you arrive you wonder if the food is as good as your memories would have you believe and when you leave you reaffirm that you hope it never changes. The scones are simply a little slice of heaven.
