Sadly closed at 4pm so missed out on my bulk buy on the way back to Berkshire. 😢😢

I go in every now and then to get pasties for the father or for the workers, they rate them 10/10 everytime, and the male worker unsure on name knows how to lighten your day :) thankyou! Best place in Tavistock.

Of Gus sell the BEST MEAT PATTIES Ever, very tasty light fluffy pastry good filling always go for them as my go to lunch not to heavy on the stomachs but filling enough to get me through untill my evening meal.

Despite the move to smaller premises down the road, this is still the best pasty shop in town, with the friendliest most welcoming staff, you get treated like a regular regardless of if it's your first time or your fiftieth, really have nothing but praises to sing of the place

This was the latest cafe, we've now dined in for breakfast at. A lovely cafe, dog friendly. Very nice people running and working there. We had a large and small full English breakfast, with brown toast, a flat white and a cappuccino coffee. All the ingredients were top quality, the eggs were cooked to perfection. Nothing greasy or oily. Excellent breakfasts. And very good value too. We will definitely return here.

Yummy food, service with a smile and everything thought of from a biscotti with the tea to the option to have soy milk instead of dairy, much appreciated by my lactose intolerant self.

Visiting from Nottingham where you don't get a proper pasty anywhere so of course I'm not going to miss out while here. Oggy Oggy did not disappoint. The flavour was amazing I sat in and had my pasty with chips and it all came out piping hot. I'm very fussy about chips that are not chippy chips and they were cooked to perfection and would easily rival a chippy chip. Oh and they are dog friendly too which is a massive winner for me. Thank you team I will be returning.

Went into Oggy Oggy Tavistock today and will not be going back again.Ordered a breakfast which was ok not brilliant,the customer service was non existent with the young girl only saying breakfast when she brought it out.Where oh where has Pleases and thank you gone,not even enjoy your meal.It costs nothing for good manners and politeness.Have been to other eateries where the staff are friendly and helpful,that’s where I will be going from now

Good all day breakfast, really nice sausages & eggs.

Absolutely awful experience. Ordered 2x ham, egg and chips, and 1 fish and chips. After about 35 minutes a guy appears saying they only have enough ham for 1 ham, egg & chips. Not sure what he’d been doing for the last 35 minutes before he’d established that. It was at this point that we should have walked out. Finally the food arrives, see photos, I’m not quite sure how they had the nerve to put it on the table. The quality and the amount was absolutely shocking. Dried up fish that looked like it was out of a box from Iceland! Hardly any chips either and the ones I had some were still hard in the middle. No peas. For the replacement of the 1 ham, egg and chips we ordered a hunters chicken burger. This was equally as shocking, stale roll, some rubbery grated cheese, dried up bacon and cold chicken. No BBQ sauce, one of the main ingredients of hunters chicken is BBQ sauce! Whilst we were staring at our plates in disbelief, a lady on another table had to ask where her food was as she’d been waiting nearly hour. A short while later they actually left the cafe, just walked out as the food still hadn’t turned up. Whether the lady that was working there knew we weren’t happy I’m not sure, but then another bowl of chips arrived for us. I did note the guy that came to tell us they only had enough for 1 ham, egg & chips on the back of his t-shirt was stamped ‘The Union Inn’. I’d like to know if this food was being brought from one establishment to this place. Actually that would make sense given it took them 35 minutes to establish they didn’t have enough ham and the fact that the hunters chicken burger was cold! If this is happening it doesn’t say much for The Union Inn either, I’ll certainly be avoiding that place too. Obviously I can’t comment on the standard of the pasties, if they’re any good, perhaps stick to just pasties as you clearly have no idea about any other food! Anybody in their right mind would not have served this awful food! The place needs a good revamp and a bloody good deep clean. The floors were absolutely filthy. The toilets were equally as rubbish, dirty, wet, damp and mould/black walls. Complained when we went to pay, no offer of non-payment just a measly sorry. We’ve managed to avoid Covid until now, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve now contracted it, either that or food poisoning! Tables weren’t even being properly sanitised after people left, crumbs just brushed on to the floor. I urge your to avoid this place at all costs!

We were shocked and very very pleased that we could go inside to eat with our dog. Very very friendly staff, fantastic food, ham, eggs and chips amazing.

Not been to Tavistock before so didn’t know where to get lunch. Went in because they did jacket potatoes but they had unfortunately run out ( we were quite late ) so we went for the ham egg and chips. The food arrived quickly and was lovely and hot. Two eggs and beautiful ham which I believe was from the local butcher. We throughly enjoyed our meal.

Unlike many pasty bakeries this has a sit down area. Reasonable prices but I felt the pasties were undercooked and pale. Coffee and service were good though.

we had not booked and were just visiting Tavistock on a Sunday. My son did not want to a packed lunch so I suggested we went for a walk to and we found oggy oggy and they had gluten free pasties available so we went in and eat inside food was well cooked and portion sizes were good and they seemed knowable on gluten free food. unfortunately were chip were cooked in the same fryer as sausages so they were not suitable for coeliac.

Regularly have lunch here when we visit Tavistock. Their pasties are great but they provide a good range of breakfasts and lunches.

Had a lovely lunch today, really good service from very stretched, busy staff who are nearly always smiling.

Decided to treat myself to a late lunch & always find the food is tasty here. Staff are very friendly & pleasant. Decided to have the chicken curry & chips which arrived pipinghot with a .portion of chips.It was very tasty.Socialdistancing was is place & the ambience is friendly & pleasant. Very enjoyable!!

Lovely cheese and onion pasty had by the husband, freshly made ham, mustard and coleslaw sandwich, both dishes came with side salad, the sandwich even had some crisps as well. Hot chocolate was tasty, not powdery or too watery. Latte was really well made too. I'd highly recommend here for a lunchtime stop off.

The wholemeal vegan pasty is delicious. You can feel the freshness of the ingredients and they don't use too much condiments.

Used to regularly use Oggy Oggy but today my husband visited them to buy pasties and sausage rolls for our granddaughters, only to find them overcooked on the pastry and internally. Total waste of £15. Sorry but we'll be heading to the pasty house from now on.

The big breakfast here has been my favourite for a long time now. Great service at a great price. Pasties are pretty good too.

One of the best if not the best pasty shops in tavi . The staff are all really happy and helpful.i dont go in as much as I would like but the chap behind the counter remembers me and my order every time. Really chatty really friendly like I have known them for years . Great tasting pastys and sausage rolls even vegetarian options and the steak and kidney pie are epic just like my grandma's.big bits of steak and kidney.The variety of pastys are brilliant and vast. Would like to see a cheese and marmite version . Very clean and very hygienic Will change my opening sentence it's the BEST pasty shop around go give oggys a go you won't be disappointed

My friend & I had ,lunch here & Kenny & RUBY have recently taken over the cafe. My friend had jacket potato with chicken curry which she found very tasty indeed & Ihad chicken burger with bacon & cheese served with side salad & chips which was delicious. The cafe w as well organised with social distancing & Ruby was very helpful & friendly.I'd also recommend the cheesy chips & salad.

We chanced by the tavistock shop late in the afternoon. Wow, thrilled they offer gluten free pasty made locally in Honiton too.. I purchased I lrg traditional pasty, 1 GF pasty and a GF curried pasty (GF wrapped in plastic, and required heating before eating, which they can do in the shop). I took them away to eat the next day for lunch... They were lovely... not yet eaten the curry one... look forward to my next visit. Very clean shop, very friendly and helpful staff.. defo deserve 5 stars...

What a fantastic place, everything about our visit was perfect. The food was beautiful, It was fresh, piping hot and tasted out of this world. The socially distancing rules enforced by them makes you feel safe whilst still keeping a really good and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were brilliant. They were cheerful, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, they were so welcoming. Especially the management, they took time to speak to us to see if they could do any more for us even though I could see they were busy. What lovely couple they were. I can’t wait for our next visit so I can try some of the other delights on the menu and also sample some more of the delicious cakes.

Lovely pasties with great service

We visited for lunch, restaurant was well set up for social distancing & staff were very helpful. Sophie had a jacket potato with tuna & sweetcorn, Debbie had a steak pasty & I had Quiche with salad & cheesy chips.We all throughly enjoyed our meals & service was very good.Staff were friendly& helpful & the ambience is relaxed & friendly. It was an enjoyable lunch!!

Above average pasties. Good choice of alternative fillings like lamb and mint but the traditional steak is good.

Our first Pasties since "Lockdown". Delicious!! May be it is the time lapse or our memory but these are the best pasties we have had from Oggy Oggy. Gluten Free Pasty (Steak) seemed larger but still as Tasty. We cheated (slightly) and took them on the Moor to eat, helped down with a glass of Ginger Beer. There's always a warm and friendly welcome at this cafe. Nothing seems to much trouble for the staff. Amazing value for money £6.50 for all day breakfast inc a beverage !!. Most in the town are charing around £10. In addition to the range of pasties, the have sandwiches and a special blackboard.

I was out to Tavistock for a few a few hours and needed a quick snack, so called in here. Had a lovely piping hot bowl of soup and a baguette to warm me up as it was a cold day. They were busy with a steady business. Plenty of choice on the menu whether you wanted hot or cold a snack or a meal. Service was prompt. Tables cleared quickly. Would call again.

We regularly holiday on Dartmoor as a family and often pop into Tavistock for supplies and, of course, pasties - which we like to eat on top of our favourite tors! This is definitely the best pasty shop in the town. They are delicious, really fresh and always cooked to perfection. I feel fully qualified to make this claim after having eaten one each day last week, plus two on our last day! We'll definitely be back. Plus really friendly, welcoming staff - also very important.

Steve and his staff have got it nailed - great food, great staff. i would highly recommend this pasty shop for a taste of local fare at a very reasonable price. Keep it up guys!

Short walk away from the Pannier Market that does simple food very well. Staff are friendly without being over tentative. The prices are very reasonable and the food is hot.It may look dated but this hides a great place to come for simple meals that the whole family will enjoy.

Popped into Oggy oggy's to escape the downpour today so had a cup of tea and a slice of lemon drizzle cake, both were delicious. The cafe was clean and friendly and very good value for money.

Great range of pies and pasties and gluten free options as well as standard. Cooked fresh and served with salad - it was great and I loved every bite!! Outdoor seating area as well. Well worth a trip!

Excellent service. Visited late in the day but staff very helpful and made effort for the 2 children. Food was all very good, nicely prepared and presented. Prices were very reasonable. Would thoroughly recommend a vist. This was our second.

An excellent place by buy a great giant meat pasty. It was delicious and full of lean beef which melted in the mouth.

Wandering through the market town and alleyways of Tavistock we began to get a little peckish when a picture of a Cornish pasty caught our eye in the window of Oggy Oggy Pasty Co. Being from Australia, our pasties only contain vegetables and a thin layer of pastry so when we sunk our teeth into the Cornish pasty you can imagine our joy. It was delicious with plenty of filling and thick flaky pastry. For someone who doesn’t like pasties one member of the group definitely had her share and I had to almost wrestle it out of her hand! Not sure if the pasty quality was just here or the franchise but if you are in Tavistock and want a pasty, head to Oggy Oggy, you shall not be disappointed.

Waitress very friendly, lovely warm freshly baked scones. Great treat, offered extra jam and cream if needed.

The rating is for the food and the pasties we tried were all very homely, fresh and tasty. Another indicator would be the locals dropping in for pasties takeaway - while i was stood talking to the gentleman behind the counter there were a few regulars who came in for their regular 'pastie fix'. The staff were lovely and very friendly, we had arrived at closing time and they had been open since 8am. They could have said only takeaway but they offered us a sit down meal and got some freshly fried chips as well. For that its a 5 star.

Thoroughly enjoyed our steak pasties. Hot and with plenty of meat, rather than padded out with extra veg! Service polite and prompt. Very good indeed.

Tavistock offers a lot of options for trying the famous Pastie. Many are good but sadly The Oggy Oggy pasty Co features at the bottom of my list. My review is based on more than one experience so is not a "one off" comment.

Lovely pasties and good service

Went in to order a quick bite to eat, i was told they don't accept card under £5 and was told to go get money from an ATM. Returned 5 minutes later to pay for my food and sit in and eat it, then got told to leave as I didn't order a "sit down meal"., But they offered to plate it up and told me to pay the "extra fee" for sitting in, wont be coming back here again. Food was nice.

Always feel welcome here, very kind and efficient staff, slushies are so cheap and cheerful, toffee pecan yum yum's are to die for!!! very cheap menu always bustling when I go! Much more consistent than the pasty house in my opinion. Never had a bad experience here.

We did not have pasties but the food we had in their restaurant was really tasty and the one we liked the most was their cheese and bacon quiche with salad which was really good. Nice friendly staff. We went in there every time (3 or 4 times) that we went to Tavistock and would definitely go in to this Oggy Oggy again.

Mi familia y yo nos detuvimos en un copioso almuerzo, y eso es exactamente lo que conseguimos. Los camareros eran muy simpáticos y atentos. Pedimos y nos sirvieron la comida muy rápidamente. Era de £3. 50 para comida infantil y la porción era muy grande. Mi hija tenía un desayuno inglés y le encantó! El desayuno se sirve durante todo el día. Mi marido pidió un pasty y salchichas y puré. Ambos eran servido caliente. Pedí una ensalada que era fresco y delicioso. El único inconveniente era que no eran nuestras bebidas frías pero bastante tibia. De mi hija también fue una cata batido poco artficial. Estaría encantado de volver!

We were looking for a quick bite and was told to visit Oggy Oggy Pasty Company. We bought a sausage roll to takeaway. It was the best sausage roll I have eaten for a long as I could remember.

The owners are really nice and friendly and often know what you want as soon as you sit down. The food selection is extensive, cooked to order and is very tasty. Access to the shop/restaurant is via a few steps but there is disabled access around the back of the building

The Oggy Oggy shop in Tavistock is a delightful place. We have had lunch there several times. Service perfect, they have a fabulous team. Food always great, hot and well cooked. I cannot fault this place and we will always go back.
