Nice little place if you go to Dartmoor to see the prison.

Had a lovely day out on Saturday went to Tavistock had coffee then had a trip over Dartmoor was a lovely day called in for fish and chips in Princetown which we have been too many times before the Service let us down this time very poor we had our tea and ordered our fishing chips but 45 minutes later we were still sitting there with cold tea we could see people coming in and getting served before us. Some only sitting there for 10 minutes got fed up in the end and told the waitress we were going as we were fed up waiting she said it’s just been plated up and I said you said that last time before you’ve just served that table , so we are very disappointed after having a lovely day out on my wife’s birthday .

We visited on the way to Tavistock and again on the way back. Friendly staff, very nice cappuccino. Our friends had scones with clotted cream and jam whilst we just shared a toffee cake. All thoroughly enjoyed. It's an unusual cafe in that it is shared with a fish and chip takeaway. Would definitely come again.

This place is one of our must visit Coffee and Cake stops on our annual March trip to Dartmoor, the staff are friendly and the place is very clean. The food is excellent.

Chips are always good here, me and my lad go in for the chicken burger and chips regularly

Lovely staff and great cream teas, plus very dog friendly. However you can't avoid your clothes smelling of cooking (bacon and chips) when you leave. Not to be helped I guess when the windows are all closed and the kitchen extraction was not working well.

Charming cafe, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Table survice and pay at till. Clean and modern toilets. Nice food with a surprising large menu. Excellent value for money.

Absolutely rubbish food at extortionate price. Proprietor the most rude person. I can only compare him to Basil Fawlty.

Great place for a good breakfast. Came with friends and everyone was very happy. The staff were very friendly and accommodating,. The food was great and so was the price. The car park is a bit of a con, minimum of 3 hours for £3, but that's not there fault. Will definitely be going again.

Great place to drop in for breakfast lunch etc or in our case take away. The food was great , freshly cooked and very tasty , chicken burger lettuce mayo with chips and chips on own , really lovely , a little way for it but it was busy so understandable. prices good and quality and quantity great. many thanks

We have been coming here for several months now and decided that that we been here enough times now to write a review. Friendly team VERY consistent with the quality of food that we take away. We live in Tavistock about 7 miles away and its worth traveling to get decent food. Far better than fish and chips Tavistock. We definitely recommend this place for a takeaway. One day we will try sitting in.

Love this place, has remained the same for a very long time. Food is great, prices are fair, and they are dog friendly. Oh and it is also a great fish and chip shop too.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Food average to poor. I had probably the most unappealing burger I've ever eaten. Dry bun, dry veggie burger, slice of unmelted cheese. No mayo,salad,onion ... even melting the cheese would have been something. Breakfast was average, ditto sandwich. Scones were pleasant enough. Not expensive but could be vastly improved with a bit more thought.

The food is very good,and plenty of choice. We have been for breakfast. Lunch. Sunday Lunch is great. Dog friendly ( they have treats). Secret is out now peeps ha ha. Staff are very friendly you can have a good laugh. Service excellent Chris & Edith

Very outdated inside, most of the staff are pleasant but a few were shouting across the dining area, the food was average for the price, the chips tasted and looked like they were frozen and just reheated, very cold inside as well, cans of drink cost over £2, won't be returning as there are a lot cheaper places with better food near by.

This place is Amazing. Attentive friendly staff, I visit whenever I'm in the area . It's a hub for hikers from near and far. Plenty on the menu to satisfy all our needs. Dogs welcome too. Start and end your trek here. It's well worth it .

Locals love place so it can get busy but staff will try and fit you in. Great selection of cakes.

What a lovely experience. We went for lunch after a nice walk on the moors and the plates are generous, really yummy and at a good price. The staff is helpful and friendly and the crowd was a nice mixture of families, older folk, young groups of friends and people coming from a walk. Even the dogs are well behaved!

Gorgeous little cafe, fabulous service by very friendly staff, very reasonable prices and the food is really good. We had a cream tea, the scones were fresh, warm and big, a really good cream tea all round. Can highly recommend this little gem of a cafe!

My wife and I come here on a regular basis. Staff and food always top notch. We quite enjoy the chilli-con-carne. One of the best ever. The veggie chilli is just as good. Prices are reasonable. Usually too full to manage a pudding. Definitely one of our “go-to” places and would recommend it to offers!

Visited about 13.30 and place was busy most of tables occupied so we went for a takeaway. There was a bit longer than I expected wait but not too surprised given how busy. Food was well worth the wait! Had fish and chips and sausage and chips and it was all fresh , hot , tasty and just what we needed after being on Dartmoor. Polished off the lot . Recommend if you’re visiting Dartmoor anytime

Popped in here for breakfast today. What a fabulous gem! From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome, I cannot fault the service,so friendly and helpful. I had scrambled egg and mushrooms on toast which was delicious and well presented. Very good prices and a refill on your drink with a breakfast. It must be good as fully booked at lunch time! Parking is in local car park £3.60 for 3 hrs, and is just 50yrds walk. Very clean and presentable. Will definitely visit again.

We had read previous reviews and were pleased we popped in for a cuppa and the most delicious cream tea. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Will definitely return when next back in the area and have a main meal from the varied menu.

Just the best steak and mushroom pie I have ever had! Popped in for lunch , had the special and it was just amazing. Really good old fashioned food like we should eat more often. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Clean and tidy.

Very nice fish and chips and deserts... homemade and very good value for money. Friendly staff. Open all hours and long established. Made a point of eating a late lunch there on our way home from Tavistock to dartmouth. Always on our list for lunch!

Excellent menu choice and great value and the staff are just so lovely and efficient. Opted for a mini turkey roast as I’m not a big eater and it was delicious and generous. This place never disappoints. Can’t wait to go back again.

Delicious, freshly cooked food with excellent customer service.

The food was excellent, all home cooked and fresh. The prices were very affordable and the menu offered large or smaller portions. The service and atmosphere was great also. A very welcoming place which allows dogs and well behaved children ha! Well worth a visit.

Excellent inexpensive great quality meal for the family. Lovely staff. We all had the roast dinner 2 turkey and 2 beef and all enjoyed it.

This place is a real Gem. Always quite busy. Spotlessly clean. Dogs welcome. Prices are very good and the food is great value. A good selection from mixed grill, fish and chips, roast, liver and onions and much more. We always visit when in the Tavistock area.

Can get very busy due to coach loads of tourists. The service is excellent but you might have a wait for orders to arrive

We had just crossed the Dartmore National park and stopped in Princetown at the Visitor's Center. Stopped at the Old Police Station for refreshment for Devon Tea. Cream on top!

This cafe was a great little find on the way to Cornwall. We had a fantastic lunch. Staff were lovely, friendly and very caring making sure customers has exactly what they wanted how they wanted. Would definitely go back.

Visited today 04.06.23, and this was the first time since the covid. I had fish and chips and it was as good as the last time I had eaten there. Also every member of staff were very attentive and welcoming to everyone.
