Been here today, very underrated in comparison to what they offer here. I just want to add a suggestion: a mini water fountain, for decorative purposes in the cafe. Just a thought, i think itd be so cute.

Only stopped for a coffee. Fantastic selection of coffee, lovely cakes and treats to eat in and take-away. We sat in and had a superb filled panini with our coffee and took a selection of chocolates away. Call next day and had a cream tea ( absolutely lush ). Staff super friendly and very helpful. Lovely experience all round, will be back when in area next.

First visit to this business and found the service first class. Not a big place but comfortable and friendly with a varied menu. Also available are a range of luxury sweet and chocolate products which make ideal presents particularly this time of year. A very pleasant experience.

Really loved coming for coffee with my 90 year old friend who frequents most days. Our last visit was extemley upsettting due to a poorly organised system of ordering /seating and a rude customer. The manger failed to deal with the situation in a diplomatic and corteous manner causing great distress to both of us in front of all the other customers. May I suggest a better system is implemented to stop this type of situation arising in the future.

We visit here most Sundays for a weekend treat. I love their unique coffee menu and the range of pastries, desserts and cakes on offer each week. They also make some lovely quiches and cheese scones which I love. The coconut island coffee and secret squirrel coffees are some of our favourite weekend treats. Great for sitting in or take away.

I've tried them all and this is the best place in Tavistock for coffee and a toasted tea-cake. And only £4.80 - in other places I have paid as much as £7.50! Amazing value for money: the tea-cake was enormous and fresh with 3! (count 'em) packets of butter.

Popped in here for a cream tea after visiting the Pannier Market. The shop wasn't too busy, and on the way in you could see a wide range of cakes and chocolates for sale. As I always like a cream tea whilst on holiday down here, my review will be based on that. Positives : the tea, prepared with leaves and enough for more than one cup. Also had two scones and a choice of fruit and plain. Negatives : I was asked if I wanted the scones warmed to which I said yes, but it was warmed in the microwave which made the scone chewier with a softened crust. The clotted cream was served in a bowl with none of the skin that tops the cream in a sealed container

Do go here if you're after a fantastic cream tea. My generous helping of freshly made cream complemented my (pleasingly huge) scones very nicely. They, along with the jam, were washed down well with a steaming pot of tea. I was pleased that the quantities served were sufficient for each person in our party, unlike some places that cut back to save costs but ultimately backfire as they come off as stingy. The service was polite, pleasant and efficient, and the café itself had an inviting and homely atmosphere on a rainy summer's day in Devon. I have tried a few cream teas in the South West and must say you are among some of the better competitors. My only advice would be to consider serving homemade jam. You might just get that extra star in future reviews then... That aside, very well done and thank you!

Nipped into Tavistock for a wander and to buy holiday supplies. Promised the kids a cafe stop. Happened to park right outside this wonderful little cafe. Fantastic choice of delicious looking pastries, exotic teas and amazing coffees. I had delicious cherry and amaretto tea. Hubby had Secret Squirrel latte (which meant I had to drive back to campsite!) Kids struggled to choose from the delicious cakes and both had a hot chocolate and demanded to come back later in the week within seconds of being served.

This is a great little place. One of the few places open on a Sunday afternoon in tavistock where you can sit down and have a "decent" coffee and slice of cake or muffin. Can particularly recommend the chocolate orange muffin and do ask to have it warmed up.... Makes all the difference. The hot chocolate is particularly good as well.

Lovely pub. Great views of Dartmoor. Pub is in the middle of nowhere with nothing within a couple of miles each side. Good selection of drinks and interesting history about the place. Roast dinner was a little disappointing. Very crispy, hard to cut, dry roast potatoes, thin meat. Gravy just tasted like bisto and everything else tasted like it was supermarket frozen food. The fresh boiled veg was nice. Partner had rabbit pie, which was well filled and tasty. Chips weren't very tasty.

We only popped in for a pint and some cheesy chips, as we were eating at the end of our walk. The carvery looked and smelt awesome! Portion size was good, and prices were very reasonably pitched. Great venue, which will obviously be stunning in summer! Still very busy, but lots of staff to serve you, with table service. Service wasn't the quickest, but they were busy, and it was polite when it came. Atmosphere was more towards the 'family' vibe, so if you're not a fan of lots of kids, be mindful to visit in the week! They really could've done with lighting some of their fires to make it feel cosier as the temperature is dropping! It was quite cold inside! We will be back to eat a proper meal here and enjoy a quieter visit.

Had an amazing Sunday roast here - service was fab and pub was warm and cosy. I've only knocked a star off as I paid £6.40 for a can of 0.0 guinness and half a lime and soda - which seems quite highly priced

No draught lager, so a pint of shandy cost £6 as you had to pay for a bottle of lager and a lemonade Carvery itself was underwhelming. Frozen Yorkshire puddings are always a bit of a let down. £16 for a large roast dinner which wasn't particularly large. It just meant you can have 2 of the 4 meats (1 slice of each) Beef overcooked, pork looked very fatty. Turkey was ok. Cauliflower cheese was raw. Gravy wasn't very good. Roast potatoes looked deep fried and weren't very nice. The leek gratin was very nice though. Wouldn't go again unfortunately.
