Dropped in for a drink whilst driving across Dartmoor. It's in a very isolated situation but with glorious views across open moorland. There is outside seating but we chose to sit inside. A nice pint of Otter ale. The famous fire was a welcome sight.

Owners are rude beyond believe. Using language your children shouldn’t hear. Cursing public when they enter the Inn. Arrogant, unfriendly and obnoxious. Sad times as I have known this beautiful place through my grandparents, parents and taken my own children. Have walked across the moor to visit from my home. Food is over priced and yet again served with no care. Totally heartbroken that a beautiful place like that can be run by horrid, unengaging people.

Great traditional pub. Used to offer more veggie options, with half the specials board catering for veggies. Still good place though. Bring back the veggie pie (with black peppercorn)!

Very nice location and really friendly staff; however be careful with your food choice.. if you choose the ploughman’s lunch, it’s nothing more than a baguette and salad with butter and a bit of chutney.. it was far from my expectations honestly, and was worth £5 tops, as much as a starter.

Absolutely beautiful pub on Dartmoor, views to die for and a really friendly and warm welcome. We didn't eat but the food coming out the kitchen looked great. They are famous for their rabbit pie which I will definitely be returning to try. Only reason this isn't a five star review is because of the price. Two half diet cokes, a pint of real ale and a couple of bags of crisps were over £12.

Perfect. Upon walking in you’re faced with wooden beams, a bar with lots of choice: ales, lagers and ciders plus more and a homely pub feel! The barman Tony knew all about the history of the pub from its 19th Century Tin miners’ background to the modern day. The food was varied (she had Pea & Mint soup while I had a Rabbit Pie). This proper country pub grub could not be faulted. This place and its staff absolutely made my day.

A wonderful little pub overlooking the lovely views of the moors when on a sunny clear day. Parking is limited and beware of the sheep! Though they run away if you get to near. Inside the bar has two beautiful open fires which one has been burning for many years. You can sit in the bar or chose to sit in the dining areas or outside if weather permitted. Well decorated with old pictures of the place on the walls. Nice simple menu that you order up at the bar. Had the cheeseburger with came with chips and a small salad. And sticky toffee pudding with custard. The chips were yummy! But I didn't think burger was worth it's price. The pudding was nice although the top was slightly burnt so could taste that. Food is nicely presented. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would come back again as its a little treasure of a place.

Travelled all the way to the Warren House especially for a joint birthday lunch with my son, as we used to go there years ago when he was small and it was always so welcoming. Unfortunately, not this time. The barman was an obnoxious jobsworth who was so aggressive with his attitude. He ordered us about and made out like we were not welcome. His customer service was non existent. He was moaning to customers at the bar that he didn’t have enough staff, like it was their fault. We left without even ordering a drink. He totally spoilt our lovely day and our happy memories of that pub. Horrible little man.

We visited as a big group prior to a walk on Dartmoor. Despite being a big group (11 including 5 children) and walking in we were able to get a table, ordered and served promptly. Me and my wife shared a cheese burger and chips with an extra portion of cheesy chips and the children enjoyed a chicken nuggets meal and a vegeterian sausage meal. All were well portioned and the end result empty plates! Cosy pub and enjoyable visit with decent food 👍

This was such a lovely pub all the staff were friendly and kind. They welcome dogs, even a very large one like mine. They came out to give him a treat and were happy to let him eat a sausage as we ate our food. The food was incredible. I had the rabbit pie and I haven’t eaten such a good pie in years. To top it all off my dog got a little sick probably from al lathe water he drank while on our walk on the moor beforehand and when I he was sick they didn’t get annoyed or stressed, they simply came over to provide me with a small tub and some tissues to sort it and then even disposed of it for me after. 10/10 place make sure you visit!

This was such a disappointing visit. We regularly pass the pub on foot or in the car, and it held great memories for us of wet winter walks and that welcoming fire. As a treat, we took our son, back from Uni, for lunch. What a disappoinment! Firstly, all the staff were friendly, and the beer was very good, though a bit pricey. The food was quite poor however. Sons' Rabbit Pie was pretty dry inside, mine had sauce and was better, but both pies had pretty uncooked veg in them, which was a bit too al dente for us both. Chips were good. But, although there was a good helping of veg (Carrot, broccoli and cauliflower) there was no sauce or gravy to eat them with, and no-one did. Just too stark and bland. My wife had a vegetarian lasagne, which when it arrived was shrunken, dry and inedible. With it was a small side-salad and a foot-long baguette. This was soon changed on complaint, and the replacement was better, but not a lot of food for the money, mostly a bread roll. We were all very disappointed, and had hoped for a much happier experience. £50 wasted sadly.

Not normally one to complain or write bad reviews but I was highly disappointed with the appalling service that we received from a member of staff at The Warrens Inn. While on holiday in Dartmoor my partner and I were looking forward to visiting this place as we crossed the moors. No sooner we walked through the door a very rude man hurdled us into a side room because we had our 4 month old daughter with us. The man was very blunt and after 10 minutes we hadn't been offered any menu's or drinks, a young (polite) lad eventually came up to the table and apologised for the way the older rude man had carried on, at which point we decided to leave as it looked like they weren't interested in our business. A quintessential English pub. Warm, historic, and in an amazing setting. I have visited a number of times and it is one of my staple stops on Dartmoor now. It can look a bit busy from the outside as many cars are parked along the road, but most of them are off walking and every time I have been in there have been enough tables to choose from. The food is simple, straight-forward, and absolutely delicious. There is always a nice selection of specials such as chicken pie and lasagnas which changes often. The homemade desserts are amazing also - the sticky toffee pudding with custard, ice cream, or clotted cream, is highly recommended.

We visited this pub after a day mooching around Dartmoor and we were welcomed into a warm and lively pub. The food was nice - all fresh and tasty. My only problem was the children’s options. Mains are around £15-£20 so I didn’t want to order an adult meal for a child. The children’s options are chicken nuggets, sausages or fish fingers with chips. I asked for a healthier option but was met with a sharp no. This really does need looking at.

Beautiful location, and historic pub. But expensive for what you get. Pints are a fiver and the food choice is lacking greatly. Especially for veggie options, 13 quid for quorn sausage and chips (an oven dinner)! And 8 quid cheese sandwich..
