Lovely traditional pub . Had planned a meet up with friends and this was the suggestion. Google reviews were very mixed so I was unsure what to expect. Well, it was really super. Cosy pub, lovely staff, tasty food. Good value. It's not a gastro pub, it's just a traditional pub with a cosy atmosphere and food to refuel. And surrounded by ponies and sheep.

I went there with my elderley mother, just a small step to enter the bar. We didn't book, but we're shown to a table immediately by friendly bar staff Ordered scampi and chips, which came in a reasonable time. Cooked nicely and a fair size portion. Had one tea and one cappuccino with the meals cost £40

Stunning location but equally the warmth of your welcome is not just because of the continually burning fire (an interesting, historical tale unique to this fabulous pub). We ordered food and it did not disappoint, highly recommend. All the staff we met were warm, welcoming and good banter.

Stopped here whilst on a hike. The location is amazingly positioned on the high moors. There is a good selection of three ales if that’s your thing I tried two and both were well served. We ordered two cheese burgers and a scampi and chips. The quality is very poor unfortunately, with the burger served in a bun that disintegrates and the chips were soft and if a poor frozen quality. I know the location is remote but basic offerings like this should be produced at an A1 level without excuse. That said, the location is incredible so would retry.

A lovely old-fashioned pub in a fantastic location serving no-nonsense grub at a reasonable price. If you are looking for a pretentious 'gastro- pub' dishing up your meal on a slate or block of wood, then it's not for you! The food arrives on a plate. The Warren Inn is an old pub, exactly as all pubs used to be back in the day - no plush carpets, with non matching furniture and bit worn in places. But that's it's charm. A real throwback to how life was before we all became a bit too civilised.

Beautiful location on a fabulous sunny day. We have wanted to visit for years, finally made it today. Food poor and cost top dollar. Worst & plainest Ploughmans ever. Busy and loud but lovely ☺ and very cold in Jan! Had a Sunday lunch with generous portions (Beef for around £16) Would have loved to try their amazing puddings but was too full! At 12:30 on a Sunday it was very crowded and a bit loud with all the young kids, but the staff were lovely, real fires were fantastic, food didn’t take long at all and aside from the queuing (constantly in the way of people coming and going) it just felt relaxed.

Lovely pub. Warm welcome both in greeting and heat! Great food. Not a huge menu but all (i presume) home cooked. Love the fact there is a section separate. States no dogs, children under 11 or wet clothes! We originally booked with 2 dogs but as the weather was typically grim we left them at home. Not the day for walking the moors sadly. So we moved to this quieter area which was great as we could chat better. Roast was scrumptious and all fresh veg n crispy potato's! Great choice of homemade puds which were a good size and bonus of a hot vegan pudding with vegan ice cream. We were not rushed at all and owner and staff chatty. Very welcoming and we will definitely be back.4 adults, 4 mains, 4 puds and 4 pints (soft drinks) £112! Can't moan at that.

Following a walk in the vicinity, I entered the establishment and encountered three visibly stressed team members. The pub was relatively quiet, but all tables in the side rooms were reserved. My partner and three children occupied a large table by the fireplace while I proceeded to the bar to order drinks. During the transaction, a large man behind the bar abruptly stated that children were not permitted in that area. I attempted to explain that we had sought alternative seating without success. He then left the bar in a brusque manner, pushing past patrons to reach the reserved areas. He indicated a small table near the women's restroom as an alternative. Fortunately, another patron intervened and offered space at her table for my children. I would definitely not recommend.

The perfect high moors location for a pub with such history. However, unfortunately there are some very dated landlord rules which discriminate against children (as we were told that our child was not permitted in the bar area and we had to sit in a back room which had absolutely 0 atmosphere nor charm). Establishments which adopt such discriminatory rules should not be supported.

An absolute treat. I’ve been past many times and always wondered if a pub in such a location can actually be any good. Boy is it! Everything a pub should be and nothing it shouldn’t be. Hard floors and tough furniture (most visitors will have been on the moor), but well kept ale and a really characterful menu. We all had pies; I had rabbit and it was superb. The fire in the public bar hasn’t gone out in over 170 years. Some comments here about bringing children in - I believe the decision to have a no child, no dog area is more pro-people wanting a quieter meal than anti-family. Makes perfect sense. Great welcome, great food, great beer, great location.

Lovely pub. Great views of Dartmoor. Pub is in the middle of nowhere with nothing within a couple of miles each side. Good selection of drinks and interesting history about the place. Roast dinner was a little disappointing. Very crispy, hard to cut, dry roast potatoes, thin meat. Gravy just tasted like bisto and everything else tasted like it was supermarket frozen food. The fresh boiled veg was nice. Partner had rabbit pie, which was well filled and tasty. Chips weren't very tasty.

I know this will be a plus for some, but for us the portion sizes are just ridiculously huge. Always feel guilty for wasting. I also want to go somewhere and experience different things like a starter or pudding but no room, or you waste more to fit it in. I hate wasting food or money. If someone has a huge appetite they can get a starter, side and pudding. I love coming here and bringing people here but we stay for a drink only most times.

We first came here in 2018. Little did we knew my Late Father in Law, Keith Burling used to love this place as he used to live in Okehampton. After his funeral last week, we all came to Warren House Inn to remember him. We sat on the same bench he did a year ago. Coincidentally when we got there, the same bike was parked right next to the bench that my Father in Law sat a year ago. So that is exactly where we sat and remember him by. Warren House Inn gives the Best view of Dartmoor Park. It is at the centre of the Park, giving the visitors all the picturesque views. The food and the service absolutely top notch!!! So we had googled dog friendly places to stop for food on our way home from Cornwall. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 dogs. Definitely not dog friendly. When we arrived out of courtesy I asked a waiter of it was ok to come in with dogs he very rudely said as long as they don't make a sound I said well sometimes dogs do bark we looked at each other and said shall we go somewhere else . He then said its OK you can sit over in the corner . We reluctantly went in as my elderly father in law is diabetic and needed to eat . We ordered at the till and the same waiter was rude again . A young man brought our drinks over and just dumped the tray full of drinks onto the table with no words spoken to us . The food came very quickly which was good as the staff kept staring at us so we wanted to get out as soon as possible . The lady who brought our food was quite pleasant . We felt very uncomfortable being stared at by the staff while we were eating . The food wasn't great and we would never go there again or suggest that anyone else does if it were an option I would give no stars at all

Great find as it’s really comfortable place to stop and relax. Perfect gluten free apple pie and cream. We also ordered a panini and cream tea and all food was thoroughly enjoyed. Very pleasant staff. Will definitely return.
