Great setting but be aware of the roads if you are driving here, we walked from Barley Meadow campsite (note, lots of elevation to return). Good value food, service was really good despite being very busy. Would certainly return. Nice riverside walk nearby.

Lovely stopover pub midway riverside on what surprised me as an exceptional walk with stunning scenery. river was full and fast flowing after heavy rainfall months which made it all the more exhilarating for walkers though not so for farmers and hospitality businesses.

It is a lovely place to catch a bite to eat or just a drink on a warm day. Dog friendly, and staff are always happy to help. There is a good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and cater for outdoor as well as indoor seating. They are always helpful in bringing out a chair if you are unable to sit on the outdoor benches. It's not the cheapest place in the world but the food is fresh and it's mostly local produce. It's lovely sitting close to the river and seeing and listening to all the different wildlife in the area.

A lovely little place with picturesque views over the gorge. We have visited twice in the last month. The Sunday roast was lovely on my first visit, however, I would be prepared for long wait for the carvery as it's very popular. My husband and children were finished their meals by the time I returned to the table with my carvery. We also took my mum along on mothers day and even though we got there 45 minutes before the start of lunchtime, all the indoor seating had already gone and there was a large queue forming. We ended up sitting outside in the rain eating our dinner, which wasn't ideal. Despite this, the staff were warm and welcoming and the food was good (and hot which was good as we were all freezing!) The bar is dog friendly, which is fantastic, and the staff always make a fuss of my big german shepherd when we visit. The location is what really sets this nice wee place apart from the other local pub/restaurants. It's beautiful!

We visited here for lunch, then went for a lovely walk along the river nearby. The place was busy as it usually is and great for dogs families and cold drinks during summer or hot days. I felt the food was nicely written in the menu but expensive and oddly presented, the staff not really overly attentive and the tables were not being emptied quickly enough so quite disappointing overall.

We stopped by Fingle Bridge Inn along the "Hunters and Fisherman's path to Castle Drogo" hike in mid January. It is situated right along the river, in a very picturesque location. What a charming pub! Stoped there for lunch after a dog walk in the moors. Was pleasantly surprised they do table service outside. A game changer - it's not easy to order a drink at the bar and bring it back to the table with 2 dogs on a leash 😅 I also appreciate the fact they trust their customers - pub allowing to run a tab outside without taking your card details is very uncommon these days. Fantastic location by the river. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff even more so! I've mentioned to the waiter that I love pickles with my burger and though I've opted for scampi on that occasion I was brought a serving of pickles on a side. 10/10

I started with chicken and apricot terrain and I had lasagna as my mains ,my only small criticism on that was the cheese on top of lasagna needed to be a bit more crispy, but that's just me being fussy and we're all different, apart from that,no complaints.

Fingle Bridge has been a favourite spot for years so l thought l would visit today. Found a convenient parking spot marked 'Pub patrons only'. OK l fancied a pint. Went to the bar only to be asked which table l was at. I said that l didn't want a table, just a pint. 'Table service only.' The outside seating area was busy, the inside near deserted. In the time it took the three people behind the bar to make it clear that they were not going to serve me they could have pulled my pint and l could have paid for it. As it was l left. Yet another lovely place ruined by a Jobsworth mentality. Unfriendly, unwelcoming, unhelpful - l suggest you avoid. I will certainly never return.

If you are able to get to this place, it's definitely worth it, but the drive may not be for everyone. The location is just magical, and the food is on the same level. My only issue is that I wish it was a bit more traditional looking than a 70s rebuild. There are so many parts of the interior that need work, either to modernise or to make it look traditional to match the extior and settings. I highly recommend though. As the food was to die for, made even better when we got to sit out by the stunning river that flows passed!
