Popped in for coffee and cake before going for a walk with my mum. Loved the selection of cake which was plentiful even though we visited late afternoon which was a lovely surprise considering a lot of coffee shops tend to not have much choice past 2pm. I had the lotus Biscoff loaf and my mum had the hummingbird cake, both deliciously moist and VERY moorish. The coffee also lovely! Not to bitter and tasted amazing. Will definitely be returning! Also loved having a nosey at all the different products they had to offer.

We came out today. Everywhere was very busy and we looked forward to the lunch from here. It’s been a while and we noticed that it’s now called just ‘Larder, but when we got the door at noon we (and others) discovered that on this May bank holiday they were closed but we very relieved to check online and find that they will be open tomorrow.

Pleased to find that despite the ups and downs of COVID stumbling blocks, the GKhas kept it together, so after a long trek with the dog on the moor, so useful to take away an excellent roast, a Thai chicken pasty and a vegetable pasty. For completeness some slices of cherry shortcake. Good value. Steady flow of customers and a queue but we were able park easily and close.

On the positives: The food looks and sounds fantastic. But: It's all pretty expensive compared to say a bakery, on top of which I was charged an extra pound either for a refill of my bottle with tap water or for the privilege of 5mins inside to eat my black pudding scotch egg. On the food: The outer coating of the egg was thin and chewy and contained very little black pudding - certainly not enough to taste. And then later when I opened my takeaway chocolate orange slice (large and tasty looking) all I had in the bag was a tiny slice of fruit cake - Arggh!!Also, worth noting that the seating is two shared tables - one large, one small.

Absolutely love it here. A group of us are regular visitors during our bike rides up from Plymouth and this is the best place in the area by far for a drink and something to eat whether it be a roast lunch or just a filled bap for breakfast or light lunch. Lots of nice treats for sale on the shelves as well if you want something to take with you on the rest of your journey. Their sweet treats are great as well and go well with a hot drink of fresh made coffee/tea or my personal favourite a hot chocolate

The Game Larder, which was once a small village shop selling quality deli products, has transformed into a cosy coffee and cake shop. This location has seen owners come and go as they offered high end deli goods combined with pasties and newspapers but these current owners seem to have found a niche by combining their deli with cakes, coffee, sandwiches and wraps. They are closed Mondays.

Lovely deli with a great range of local products...however we did find it a shame that in the age of beautifully crafted coffee that the Game Larder hadn't actually upped its game in the coffee stakes to match its array of deli delights...our flat white was just milky coffee and our cappuccino was scalding hot and burnt my mouth. We so appreciate our local businesses and want them to thrive, if they got this right this place would be excellent.

Lovely place. We had simple cottage pie. Cooked perfectly, well seasoned and a welcome hot meal on a bitterly cold day. Good selection of local products. We would have stayed longer but were put off by a very loud opinionated coffee drinker sitting next to us. A wonderful delicatessen that also offers hot food and beverages. I understand that their plan is to expand a bit and this is great news. I go regularly when I'm in the area and can highly recommend the pork rolls, which are generously filled and come with some very tasty sauteed potatoes as a mini side. If you're looking for locally made jams and pickles as a gift (or for yourself), then there's a good selection here. The staff are really great easy going willing to answer all stupid questions, such as where do you sheep's milk from doh, also willing to give samples before you but. The Game Larder at Yelverton had changed a lot when we went there in January. Now there is seating, so you don't have to take your food away with you, although we did as we had our Golden Retriever with us and couldn't leave her in the car - plus my 94-year-old disabled mother is quite restricted in her mobility, so staying in the car was easier. I have known the Game Larder for quite a few years as an excellent place to shop for all sorts of deli delectables, but now you can eat in it's even better. I was hugely impressed that I was remembered from my last visit in June 2016 - and I was offered free coffee as well. How kind! I always buy foodie souvenirs for my friends - the flavoured balsamic range is superb, as is the lemon ketchup - very tart, but quite delicious - and lovely Devon preserves. They always have all sorts of delicious dishes and baps etc on offer, so you can be assured of finding something to eat whenever you go there. It's perfectly placed for dog-owners as well, as it's a stone's throw from the open moorland at Leg-O-Mutton. Oh - yes - and we had takeaway Sunday Roast lunch on our last day - roast beef with all the trimmings in clever cardboard boxes that somehow manage not to leak in the car. A brilliant idea, and it made the perfect finish to our holiday. Thank you, Game Larder!

Whilst entertaining important business associates I stumbled upon this fine establishment. Nestled in the heart of the town, this spectacular restaurant took us by surprise. The atmospheric lighting, the carefully curated decor and the maitre d (I believe was called Ben) was extremely welcoming. The owner, Oliver, was very friendly and very informative about the origin of the Michelin grade menu and had a charm that was not wasted on my party.

Love this place. Went for Sunday lunch. Staff were very helpful. A couple of menu items were off, but the staff suggested alternatives that were delicious.
