First time at the Curator and it didn't disappoint, the food and drink were excellent, reasonably priced and blooming delish. I would highly recommend it to all!
Sad to be submitting a poor review for one of our favourite places in the SW.
Unfortunately, we went today for lunch and to buy plants for our garden. I was sitting waiting for our after lunch drinks and cake when I was hit on the head by a falling picture. I was very shocked and in pain. I went to the counter to tell them what happened and they were unconcerned and somewhat disinterested. I returned to our table and three other diners came to ask if I was ok - they witnessed the accident, were all very concerned and encouraged me to report the incident. One of the cafe team came to our table and I also told her what had taken place. She was rude and hostile, saying accidents happen, implied I shouldn’t have interrupted the woman on the till who was serving another customer. She was unconcerned about my experience and offered no apology or even a hint of empathy. I felt humiliated and her attitude really upset me. Others in the restaurant heard every word and were appalled, one gentleman was going to speak to the manager before he left he was so disgusted! I have a nasty bruise on my head and on my left shoulder, my head is painful and sore - this was not a minor event!
I do have the name of this member of the team but have decided not to publicly name and shame her!
One of the directors (Mike Jones) came to see me and was most apologetic and promised he would speak to the team about their response to a serious incident. He was very nice but the damage was already done by both the picture and the member of the cafe staff.
Gastrobus has definitely gone downhill . Prices gone up - £11 for a mediochre hotdog . Pitta pocket with brisket not much better and more expensive . For two lunches with hot drinks it was over £30 . The breakfast menu looked better but the lunch menu options weren’t great . Shame as was good . Won’t be using again even though we’re regulars at bantham
We were staying in Dartmouth and looking for a good, dog friendly place to eat and Brown's fit the bill perfectly. As it was a Monday evening the place was very quiet and we were offered a choice of two tables with plenty of space for our 2 Irish Setters. The very friendly waitress (sorry I didn't ask your name!) quickly took our orders for wine and food. Starters of roast chorizo and a field mushroom topped with goat's cheese were delicious and the mains of venison and wild boar ragu were every bit as good. Sadly, we had no room for desserts, but there looked to be a good choice. They don't have a car park but there is plenty of free on street parking on Victoria Road; I guess the place gets very busy in main seaon though so you may have to use one of the nearby pay car parks and walk along. Worth the walk though as it's certainly a place to recommend.
What a great find, full of atmosphere! We sat at a table next to the inglenook fireplace in the main bar for midweek dinner whilst staying locally. Amazing food and huge portions (we call farmer-sized!). I had the pork in a cream sauce which was really tasty, with loads of roast potatoes.
Staff very friendly too. Well worth a visit.
We went to the Regal today. The first time as a family. 2 adults 2 kids. I have been several times over the years but since moving away and becoming a wife and mother. We all had a great time. Arriving at dinner time for a fews games of pool with our children and a drink. Staff were found to be warm, pleasant and friendly. Just as I remembered from 15 years ago. Love this pub. Enjoyed telling my family my past memories of days and nights out here

Coffee took 20 mins to arrive. Hair in sugar bowl. Staff were rude. The food was bare minimum, over priced and overwhelming tang of vinegar. I had brunch with a friend, we ordered food at the same time and it arrived 10 mins apart.

What a blinder. Superb music, staff sublime, food most excellent( and within 15 minutes of ordering), don’t know about you but I think the days of ordering “ a meal” are done. My wife and I now go to an establishment and keep ordering the starters. We’re done with massive meals.
Dudley’s cafe in Dartmouth is fabulous there’s loads of choice on the menu
3 of us had lunch and found it to be great quality food we can definitely recommend the jacket potatoes and cheeseburgers . For a sit down meal we found it to be reasonably priced. Free WiFi was excellent.
We look forward to visiting for a meal next time we are down in Dartmouth
Good was very nice, and portion sizes were very generous. Atmosphere of the pub also very nice, and staff very nice and friendly. Some car parking at the rear.
