Lovely village pub reclaimed by the locals. Added bonus of being able to park your campervan in the carpark overnight.

The nursery looks lovely. This review is for the tea room. I have never left a bad review before but one of the staff members here was so unfriendly and unwelcoming that I felt compelled to do so. We would not return for this reason.

Best ice-cream in town, with helpful staff and good sense of being a proper ice cream shop of yesteryear.

My best friend was visiting for her birthday and I asked her where she wanted to go and she said "The Stars." I wasn't convinced it was the best decision as how could we have topped the great time we had there in 2023?? But it was her choice, and so I dutifully booked and told the online form it was for her birthday. Being hard to please, I held my breath as we walked in, praying we would not be disappointed, but there was our table looking lovely. Happy birthday banners waiting for our arrival, and then just as last year, a mini bottle of Prosecco as the birthday girl sat down. So already we were happy and enjoying the occasion. Crazily, the waitress remembered us from last year and was so very welcoming and charming. Our food order was taken, with the birthday girl asking for a slight alteration to hers with no problem at all. Unfortunately, what I wanted was not on the menu (as it had been when I looked online), but that was no bother as the chef when asked was able to provide me with my request! Great stuff!! We enjoyed our food and our purchased full-size bottle of bubbles and the very attentive interactive staff. They really made us both feel special and as if we frequent the place regularly, which is truly a wonderful thing. We also got a tasty birthday pudding, which was very unexpected and very much appreciated. We saw the staff give great attention to every table that night, not just us. They are all a credit to this restaurant, and I hope they receive recognition from higher management for their hard work and going the extra mile for guests. We've booked in for next November's birthday already and will definitely be coming back again in between, now we know its the same team and the service is consistently high. Only go here for food .Always there market day for lunch

Dinner measly and was left feeling rather hungry. For the price (£17) I expected a bit more than a postage stamp sized meal (if you can call it that). It was tasty, but I won't be returning.

Great traditional fish and chip shop

We went to the Regal today. The first time as a family. 2 adults 2 kids. I have been several times over the years but since moving away and becoming a wife and mother. We all had a great time. Arriving at dinner time for a fews games of pool with our children and a drink. Staff were found to be warm, pleasant and friendly. Just as I remembered from 15 years ago. Love this pub. Enjoyed telling my family my past memories of days and nights out here

Coffee took 20 mins to arrive. Hair in sugar bowl. Staff were rude. The food was bare minimum, over priced and overwhelming tang of vinegar. I had brunch with a friend, we ordered food at the same time and it arrived 10 mins apart.

What a blinder. Superb music, staff sublime, food most excellent( and within 15 minutes of ordering), don’t know about you but I think the days of ordering “ a meal” are done. My wife and I now go to an establishment and keep ordering the starters. We’re done with massive meals.

Excellent pub, good food and great location.

Serving staff were quite rude. When serving us with a raised eyebrow of what do you want, I ordered a drink for my friend, the lady asked quite rudely, 'is that all' and turned away from me to talk to a guy also behind the bar, ignoring me for an age. When I did order and we were served our drinks....there was a real air of them being put out we were there at all. Not friendly at all. Later on a group came in that needed a big enough table for them all...the male bar staff seemed to think this was going to be hard. When they suggested a table by the window, the bar guy said 'that means I've got to clean it' ...which he did. But not in a way that would make someone feel especially welcome. Nice. The general tone from the bar staff was that they would rather customers were not there at all. Don't need falling over with gushing hospitality, just don't be rude and superior.

On recommendation, we had Sunday lunch at The Ship Inn. We were not disappointed. Lovely old pub, beautifully presented. The food was good, service good and a great place to catch up with old friends. We will visit again.
