The perfect fish 'n' chips. We've taken ours to Mount Batten and Noss Mayo to sit by the water and eat out of the bag, divine! ...also represents possibly the best value for money take-away out there. We have 2 fish and 1 chips for about £18, nomnomnom!

Popular, busy fish and chip shop. They have a car park but this can also be full so you need to park nearby. Good crispy batter on the fish and good portion size. So many customers always seems to be freshly cooked. Friendly staff

The fish batter was soggy i could not eat it It was disgusting binned it wast of £9

Travel from plymstock for this chip shop usually as it’s always been amazing and best chippy around. Although a lot can be said for todays visit- they ran out of chips and on returning home after ordering 1 large chips and 1 small chips (amongst other things) I found that the small chips where literally a kids portion and the large was only a few chips more. The small fish was full and I mean full of batter, with literally only a slither of fish in it bout the size of a small 15cm ruler. Absolutely gutted as usually rave about this place 🙈

First time visit. Me and my wife had plaice and chips, and my son had cod pieces and chips great value for money, and I think they mixed my piece of fish with a shark🤣..... Batter crispy and light, loads of chips good value for money will deffinatly go back again.

Very large portion sizes but unfortunately the fish was slightly oily. It may be that it had not drained very well before being wrapped. Aside being oily the fish was very fresh and tasted good.

Cracking stop off for fish and chips

Had fish n chips batter was hard fish was dry. Sausage in batter was hard batter over cooked Sausage curry sauce didn't taste of anything. Chips were like cardboard. Never again trip from plymstock. Think maybe new ownership use to be so lovely well dissatisfied Not gonna be my stop after Yealmpton show this year.

Fantastic food, great service, best chip shop around!

We stopped off at the Brixton fish and chip shop to save us cooking on our anniversary. An early week treat. This shop is take out only and is busy whenever we go, the staff know what they are doing and get through the orders as fast as they can. If you don’t wish to wait for 10-15 minutes then you can always ring your order through and then just pick it up. The portions are a nice size, I don’t have a massive appetite and seeing tons of food can put me off so a small portion is great for me. My favourite is sausage and chips with curry sauce and I tried a pea fritter which was really good also. The fish portions seem huge and I’m told the batter is nice and not too oily. The chips are a good portion size as well, large chips will be enough for any hungry belly imo 😊 Will keep going back as this chippy is consistently good! Good value for money and good food.

Best fish and chip shop in the area. I had the medium cod and medium chips and it was more than enough. Only wish the chippy would relocate to Yealmpton as it's a long walk and I get scared in Brixton, especially central Brixton.

The Brixton Fish and Chips shop is just great! Really good freshly cooked traditional fish and chips with the usual range of extras and options. Speedy service which is always very polite and friendly. The fact that there is easy parking in their car park makes this the ideal local fish and chip shop - never had a bad meal from here, always spot on!

After decades of fabulous food from this fish and chip shop. I was on my way home from Plymouth last night and thought why not, I'm always thinking about those beauties. So literally last second dot com I swung into their carpark and went in. People queuing for freshly fried food I thought. Great, ordered fish, chips and peas, £9.90. So while I was waiting I was watching the very young guy cutting the fish as thinly as he could. I mean it was literally like a slither not a piece of fish. Then he dipped it in batter Then flour Then! Another batter. Alah the fish comes out looking normal size and I must say batter is quite nice. However chips are all scraps that are too hard to eat or get a fork in. Comes in the tiniest tray I've ever seen. Well won't be dreaming of Brixton fish n chips ever again for sure. Absolutely disgusting

It's not often we get our fish and chips from here but every time we do it's fantastic! My wife and I had a medium cod each and shared a large portion of chips with the obvious curry sauce side. It was more than enough for one meal each. I entered up with a leftover butty the next day 😁. Great value for money and as someone who struggles eating greasy food, especially shop fish and chips, I had no issues after eating this.

Usually really good, we make the trip out from Plymstock to get them, tonight they were really poor, one peice of fish well it was just batter, no fish hardly at all, greasy, not sure what happened, but very dissapointed

Group of friends visiting for a weeks break. This is the local fish and chip shop to us and with good reviews thought we were in for a lovely fish and chip dinner. Afraid not and very disappointed. After spending £53! Chips weren’t even edible, I don’t understand with how busy it appeared to be how the chips could be so overcooked to the point they couldn’t even be chewed. The fish was cooked in front of us and you did get two pieces, one was fine and the other the batter wasn’t even stuck to the fish! Definitely won’t be visiting again.

Can't fault the quality of the chips but we were short changed a fish in our order. We were staying too far away to come back but when I rang the next day and left a message with my number, I received no call.

Hadn't been to this chippie for a couple of years. Found to be still dishing out very tasty fish & chips. The fact they do a sort of "pensioners portion" is a bonus. Will carry on using for foreseeable future.

Beautiful food and fabulous staff

Whilst staying at the nearby Brixton Caravan and Camping Park, we went here to get a chip shop dinner. We had regular fish and chips, with mushy peas and curry sauce. The portion sizes were excellent. The chips were tasty and the fish tasted very fresh with a good amount of batter and not greasy. The mushy peas were lush- I think they may have been marrowfat peas that were used, much better than any others I've had before and a good amount. The curry sauce was also tasty. We ordered two of everything and it came to just under £18 I think which we think was very good value, especially considering the quality. We will happily go again when in the area.

Great fish and chips, and lovely friendly staff, would definitely recommend this place for a cheeky takeaway.

Started phoning at 7pm till 7:30pm no answer, Drove down & arrived at 7:40pm to be told no chips. There was 4 people working in the shop but none of them could answer a phone. Will not be returning, it’s a shame as the food is great. Chip shop with no chips really. What chip shop shuts on Sunday & Monday, And closes at 8pm on a Saturday night.

Phoned my order through i was asked what time I would like it for, when I got there and paid my food was ready. Great quick service

I’ve used this chippy for many years as I live in modbury and this was a decent fish shop and by far the best around for miles. The first time I ordered after new owners and as a family where so disappointed as it was definitely not what we had come to expect so we left ordering again for a good few months but decided to give them another go, this time it was a big order that came to £32 😲 this time was unbelievable the fish was dripping in fat you couldn’t taste the fish because of the amount of fat and what fish you did have was mainly batter my sausage was so pale I don’t think it was even cooked and as for the chips I asked for large and I had enough chips to feed a toddler I don’t know what has happened but I do know I won’t ever be going back after being my favourite chippy for TVs now become my worst.
