We have just arrived back from a week here, what a wonderful holiday! I don’t know where to begin. The main attraction for our family of 14 was Joe, the entertainment manager, he was simply out of this world! Followed by troupers Mason, Jenna and Ash who were fantastic, even the bar staff such as Travis and Braam who were hugely friendly, down to the lifeguard Callie. Situated right on the beach manned by daily lifeguards with beautiful sea and cliff walks. Recommend a walk round to Bigbury on sea which is equally beautiful. This was a holiday none of us wanted to leave with beautiful tranquility but mainly the personable staff. They made our holiday, Joe is a massive credit to Parkdean!

The reason we booked this park is because it proclaimed to be dog friendly, dogs are not allowed on the beach directly off the park but can go on the beach a 0.6 mile walk away, but as we are here with 4 young children aswell who in the heat wouldn't fair to good on the walk we haven't managed to get to it so far, the caravan although I fully understand is accommodation for pets aswell so would expect it not to be the cleanest carpet or upholstery but it's is absolutely disgusting, every time we walk across the carpet theres mounds of thick black dog hair stuck to our socks, feet, trainers, we have a sandy coloured short hair dog and we brush it regularly so can be 100% sure it's not from ours, the onsite chip shop doesn't serve proper chips it has chosen to fry frozen chips instead and pass them off as the real deal and price them up as if they were too, it may look like a desirable place to visit and some parts are, but paying for a holiday and the extra payment for the privlidge of bringing the family dog to then not be allowed to take on the beach is beyond joke and we will not even entertain coming back here, there's minimal things for the kids in comparison to other parks and I wish I had looked into it more and im truly gutted , I came her as a child and it's nothing like how it was, I have pictures to add to this but I will add after we have left incase we get any repercussions plus the signal is not to good there's also some extra footage of the uncleanliness so I can't be accused of being unnecessarily dafamatory.

We have been to a ‘Parkdean’ Resort before, can say this was the best and cleanest place we have been to. From the time we arrived to leaving the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Our accommodation, an Osprey BP16 was modern, very clean and in an outstanding position. The whole site was extremely well maintained and clean. There is a two and a half mile walk (round trip) to Burgh Island across the causeway at low water, of Agatha Christy fame if you feel the need, but ample car parking if not at £2 per hour or £14 per day.

The view is the best thing about the bar which has a monopoly and charges what it likes. £3.45 for a half a pint lemonade out the pump e.g. water and syrup. Food expensive and cash n carry standard products. Curry and rice is in microwave bags. Food put on plates using fingers, No tongs or gloves , no head coverings. Staff kept to a minimum so all rushed off their feet. The Clubhouse also over charges, as does the Nisa shop. I was surprised a very small Pinot at The Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island was £4.75. I expected it to be more. So that was a relief. Challaborough is lovely, I'm a pensioner from Devon, been a visitor for 63 years, but its a rip off and not even good weather so had no qualms about cutting our stay short & heading home. £800+ for 7 days in a bog standard 6 berth caravan plus expenses, food. Never again. There's other nice views with better deals for a family on a budget.

I have given this 3 stars because I couldn't get there. Went up a very steep single track road with vans coming down and a car right behind me. I had a heavy load in the car and nearly burned the clutch out trying not crash into the car behind. Smoke was pouring out of car. Gave up - I wasn't prepared to continue on these roads. The Parkdean website do not mention these roads. I'm sure the site itself is nice.

Our first time visiting for a weeks holiday with our 3 young girls. The caravan was clean and well presented with the beach just across the road. We also walked to Bigbury beach 3 days which took 15 minutes. Its a great location for a family holiday with small children. The kids entertainment was really good and special mention to Mr Joe and Tommy who were excellent and our girls loved the milkshake mornings, starland crazy and professor gue that they did. Thank you Joe and Tommy. We had fish and chips twice from the chip shop on site with John making everything to order so it was nice and fresh. Site could do with a bit of a fresh up like the main building having a fresh coat of paint as it looks tired and this is the reason I'm not giving a 5 star review.

The waterfront cafe was terrible one night the food wasn't even cooked. Even then you wait for litterly 2 hours I am still so hungry. I literally asked for a bit of cookie dough that you literally slap a bit of cookie dough into a bowl add some ice cream and sprinkle a bit of marshmellows on top my children have missed the entertainment

I have to really leave a mixed review. We arrived last week (29th) and I was hoping for lots of family fun, sunshine and a proper British holiday park. I knew there was a booking system but didn't book in advance because I was thinking surely there would be enough spaces to accommodate everyone. How wrong was I? Any free swim, cricket or football was booked meaning you had to chance a general swim. My caravan was cleaned by Debbie but I had spaghetti bolognaise under the sofa and chocolate wrappers not removed. The location itself if impossible for those who do not have a car. The bus runs only once a week on Tuesday! How is that even a thing? The narrow lanes and roads leading up are horrific. Someone drove into the car on one occasion and continued with their day. The signal for the WiFi played up the whole time despite paying for this option. We were pretty much stuck local and due to the weather and lack of facilities for older teens/young adults there was very little to do. We did source a local taxi company with a minibus to take us into Plymouth one day (£55 each way) and we explored The walk to Burgh Island, Aymer's Cove Bigbury Beach and a few coastal walks which were stunning. The views are amazing. Not allowing dogs on the beach frustrated me given all the rubbish left by humans. My nephew (11) participated in a few of the chargeable activities including Professor Goo(Slime workshop) and when we arrived we were the only people to book on so my nephew got the whole session to himself. He loved that. Anthony and Joe were amazing. My nephew also did pottery painting with Tommy and Aqua Jets and Wipe Out in the pool. The evening entertainment we only went twice and there was a how well so you know your child competition and a music and movie bingo. These were before the singing acts. We do not have tiny children and it seemed alot of the facilities are aimed at that age group. Overall the views and location are pretty, the venue itself is tired and needs some modernising and the cut off nature of the location was really not appealing to our family group. We booked 2 separate caravans and were accommodated close to one another but I don't think I would return due to feeling utterly cut off. The shop on site is also really expensive and doesn't stock much. The nearest Supermarket was around 5miles away. We couldn't get any takeaways delivered (we tried several) and were told that the bay has a tidal road which often cuts off the access and it means drivers have to go a 30minute route each way hence the orders being refused. If quiet, out the way and isolated holidays are for you then you may grow to love this place. For everyone else I would go elsewhere.

Challaborough bay , ParkDean has the most amazing views of Burgh Island and the bay. I am an owner here, we pay significantly higher yearly fees for the view and facilities, the swimming pool is the most important. Park Dean MUST keep the indoor swimming pool open , and as currently staffed (excellent, welcoming team). If ParkDean think they want to save money they are mistaken and should reinvest in the swimming pool , sauna and have spares available for the hot tub which is offering out of use due to lack of parts due to budget limited budgets. Happy to discuss further. Regards James

3 of us enjoyed our Megabreakfast in full sunshine overlooking the beach. A regular pleasure for us. There were some issues with ordering however the young team at front of house, especially Calley, did a great job, as did the kitchen team. We’ll be back tomorrow. PS don’t feed the seagulls! PPS great views of Burgh Island
