The best restaurants in Cheddar and Shipham Sedgemoor South West

Super friendly cafe in a perfect spot for sitting amongst the Gorge scenery - tried the Cheddar ice cream, it was definitely a taste sensation for cheese lovers :-)

Lovely spot by the water! We had coffee and cake! Staff were really friendly and helpful ! Great to watch the world go by and a little stroll at the bottom of The Gorge

Best chip shop in Somerset! I travel around a lot and this place is the most welcoming that I have experienced in a long time. Special thanks to Daryl for such a warm reception, I had been travelling all morning and it was just what I needed. The food was great, the staff were lovely and all in a pretty little village setting, what more could I ask for? I will definitely be back.

Went here with my wife and parents and it was an absolute delight! We got cream teas and they were delicious. Service was great and it's a cute quaint little place with lots of decorations and a great ambiance.

Lovey local pub, nice beer garden out front to enjoy a pint the Somerset sunshine! Great service from the landlords Graham & Cheryl. Highly recommend you stop by if you’re ever in Shipham!

The person everyone keeps criticising here has a brain injury, so please consider that some people try to work despite facing disabilities. If you take the time to speak with him, or with the other staff, you’ll get a better understanding of this situation.

Absolutely the worst Sunday lunch ever. Don't waste your time or money. Overpriced, overcooked totally processed food. Dreadful experience which ruined our day. Small roast was a child's portion served on a side plate, everything rock hard and cold. One potato ! ...get real. Complete waste of almost £30. Ripping off tourists as a one off visit, definitely won't survive on repeat trade. AVOID ! Much better places to be found higher up the gorge.

Always nice food but the chips were very dry the other day

We almost walked past as it looks very small from the front, don't let this discourage you as there is a lovely seating area out the back. The service was impeccable, the girls are very polite. The food was tasty and fresh. The restaurant is clean and tidy. My husband had the pie and it was full of chunky meat. I had the sausage and onion chutney ciabatta, the sausages were beautiful. We can highly recommend popping in here if you're hungry on cheddar.

This is a gem of a find in Cheddar … sitting down to eat in a clean, modern and warm environment after visiting the caves was wonderful. Added to the magic of our day. Great veggie options which was novel for a fish n chip place- thank you :) Great service, lush food and reasonably priced - we loved it :)
