I love going for different breakfasts near home (Somerset). This is one of the best places for a great breakfast. No ceremony, nothing fancy, just plain, basic decent food cooked well. Absolutely no frills. Service is polite but basic. Will def be back. Have been coming here for years. Recommend full breakfast.

Came here for breakfast with a group of friends. The place was very busy and despite that service was very good and staff are clearly working very hard. The breakfast was just ok. Sausages were not good quality and eggs were a bit underdone. Could be just a bit better.

Great accommodation in a really good location. Cheddar is only a couple of miles down the road. Rooms are spacious, modern, decor is impressive and there is free Wi-Fi . The bathroom has plenty of space and includes a wet room. There is a cafe in front of the accommodation that serves a great breakfast and it’s a fair price too, the staff are friendly and helpful. Lillypool Farm ticks all the boxes and we will definitely be back!

Lovely large rooms & clean Needs bright artwork or something above bed & something on window sill. Wanted to have breakfast with our friends who had come from Australia so we were staying at lots of places and so wanted a nice breakfast before moving on but unfortunately when we walked in the two ladies were so miserable and didn’t even say good morning and cafe was like a builders cafe lacked love. Such a shame as rooms etc so nice. Little overpriced also. Easier to stay in Bath and drive the 40/50 minutes to cheddar gorge which is beautiful. However I would say perfect if u have dogs big or small as laminate floor and very spacious. There is a lovely pub up the rd short drive from lily pool we had nice meal & very attentive owners. This is not a nasty revue but an honest one which is what trip advisor is there for. Sorry won’t be back

We went to Lily pool looking for the farm shop which apparently doesn't exist now, so decided to order a breakfast although it was 1.45 pm , the food came it looked delicious , so we tucked in about ten minutes into the meal approx. a hour before closing the girls starting spraying all the tables and moving chairs ,then starting to wash the floor in the strongest smell floor cleaner lemons which you not only could smell but felt like you were inhaling it with the food not pleasant. I feel she could have waited as we left at 2.15pm and they closed at 3.00pm and we were the only people in there if not for that the review would have been different.

When we went for breakfast there was only one other person in the place so they were hardly rushed! However, if the staff had smiled their faces would have cracked I think, they were disinterested to the point of rudeness!! Food was average, I actually quite liked the plastic sausages and the bacon was ok. The whole place has had an ambience bi-pass though, it's grim. The toilets are outside, poorly lit, shabby decoration and not overly clean. Not a lot to commend the place really. I suppose it was open - if you can call this a plus!!! We will not be back, if I were you I'd drive by and find somewhere else.

We live locally and quite enjoy a Lillypool breakfast. But why oh why do you serve such cheap revolting sausages? Please please serve proper butcher’s sausages. People would gladly pay 50p more to eat meat instead of whatever is in those solidified congealed fat bangers I’m sure. As mentioned in a few other reviews the sausages really let the breakfast down. They’re worse than school dinner sausages. Please sort it out Lillypool. We want proper sausages!!!

My family visit lillypool quite often and the breakfast, sausage sandwiches & bacon & egg rolls are a firm favourite. I've had cake a few times & it's been ok. Not a huge selection but after all its a cafe not a cake shop! The staff are lovely, very polite & always tidy & well presented. Thanks jayne & team you do a great job.

We only visited the cafe on this occasion. The cooks in the kitchen need to wear hats rather than having their hair all hanging out. The cake trolley was nothing to be desired. The food was average at best. If you want to attract more customers then improve the quality of your food especially the sausages. Get some from a locally sourced butchers and a lot more besides that

There’s not many words that can describe the full lillypool experience, but orgasmic probably sums it up!! From the minute you enter the premises you know you are in for a great breakfast served by great staff with a sense of humour that can tickle! The cooking is divine and food delectable! Our love for lillypools has blossomed over the past 4 years and we regularly attend to part with our hard earned cash, in exchange for a feed, water and banter! I have re-mortgaged the house to keep up with the rising price of baked beans as I cannot be with out lillypool in my life!! It was a sad day when Boris announced that we could no longer visit due to someone in China eating a bat and spreading a small virus around a few parts of Somerset!!! Sadly lillypools being one of them!! Our hearts were broken for a long time and the daily grind as key workers was a struggle with no Friday breakfast!! I have now lost a mere 6 stone and have managed to purchase a Lamborghini with my savings from the year of not going for breakfast. But no one likes a bald skinny rich guy in a Lamborghini. True love is found with an over weight builder in a trusted transit van. The delight that came from within when Boris announced we could once again start eating was probably the best day of my life, closely followed by the marriage to my wife and the couple kids that turned up after that day in church!! I have now sold the Lamborghini to finance the next 3 weeks of breakfasts and haven’t looked back!! Please everyone ignore the ignorance of the couple of bad reviews, I think they must have visited a lillypools in a different area (maybe where the covid bats were being served) and mistakenly put it in as this lillypools!! Which is risible behaviour! To all the team at lillypools we love you, stay strong and please now issue me with a free slice of toast for writing this review! Otherwise I will tell the environmental officer you once accidentally fingered my tea whilst bringing it to the table!! On a side note we do also miss Steph a lot :( Much lillypool love x x x x x x

We were staying in Yatton at the DoubleTree hotel and decided to visit Cheddar, to breakfast away from the hotel being expensive and not that good, where on route, B roads, we found the Lilliput farm and cafe, where we stopped for breakfast. We started our stay on the Saturday of the bank holiday. A small site with the basic amenities you need to camp. Toilets, showers and somewhere to wash up. The campsite is a field on a hillside which has been terraced so there are level(ish) pitches. The area is beautiful. Surrounded by woodland but does have a road running the length of one side. However there is no one on site and so in the adjacent filed, which had a lot of camper vans on it over the weekend the music carried on until well after 2 in the morning. We always take ear plugs camping, but other tents closer to that field were less than impressed. We stayed past the weekend and this is where the site lost stars. We had no idea it was so close to such a busy quarry. One that starts the day at around 7 and seems to work until midnight. Lots of industrial noise, horns, sirens, machinery. Not really loud, but loud enough that it can disturb your sleep, even with earplugs. This said, the campsite is in a great position for walking and sightseeing. If we visit agin though, it will definitely be over a weekend.

Situated on the edge of the Mendips, Lillypool Cafe offers great tasting breakfasts (and other plates - but not tried them), great service and a nice view when seated outside. Inside, it is clean and tidy but feels like a truckstop, not a problem at all but the beauty is to eat with a view of the rolling greenery. The breakfasts are on a par with Wetherspoons (my benchmark), I finished my plate which is a good sign. Visited last weekend. Have always had excellent food and service. I know it's changed hands recently and this is bad news in my opinion. Ordered 2 breakfasts and a kids meal. The larger breakfast didn't have matching sausages. They were very different, one a farmhouse sausage and the other was not. The bacon on both breakfasts was so over cooked it was actually black in places. Ordered extra mushrooms for both. For 75p, it was 2 mushrooms quatered - stingy i felt. The kids meal was okay except the peas had clearly been blasted in the microwave and had that mottled overcooked look.Waited 45 minutes for this and i didn't feel it was overly busy. Not impressed.

Weve been here a few times mainly for breakfast on a Sunday but the blast two times we had to wait almost an hour - the kitchen was chaotic - the chef staring at his orders and looking bewildered. The person who took the orders and handed out the food also looked out of her depth and I'm afraid the food was just about OK considering they make a big thing of it being fresh - avoid the bubble & squeak - a watery mess that was deep fried from the freezer. As some find out there is no credit card so beware. This really could be a little nest egg but there is little competition so they can get away with it

I've been going to the Lillypool cafe for years. It was my last bastion, a backstop, an absolutely guaranteed quality, value for money, full English breakfast. When all other cafes had fallen by the wayside, the Lillypool would never fail you. It never changed, it was hot, locally sourced, cooked to order and did the trick. Two weeks ago it changed hands. We waited an hour for two sausage and egg sandwiches, which were served cold, contained very little sausage, complete with snotty eggs. They'd run out of baguettes, they'd switched the heating off, people were getting up and leaving with the delays in serving basic breakfasts, the menu was changed to, surprise surprise, less food for more money and and and....I'm gutted. Absolutely gutted. The people of Shipham, the tradesmen, farm workers, the locals and countless others have lost an old friend. What a shame.

Large site but unfortunately limited flat pitches. Only 1 ladies toilet and what is classed as a washroom is actually a sink in the same toilet cubicle. Showers available but away from camping area on the other side of car park and cafe. No management on site so the extreme noise throughout the night was allowed to continue during our stay. The site is adjacent to a minor road but cars appeared to be racing along it, also throughout the night! The plus side was the location and the view from our pitch.

We stayed at one of the glamping pods on the field. The Cafe have nothing to do with the camping/glamping side of things but you will need to use the shower here as the actual campsite has no shower. The cafe itself is shabby, dated and quite grubby looking. I couldn't bring myself to eat there. The toilets were in really poor state and unclean. Likewise the shower. The staff were okay but not really in a hurry to do anything! Cheddar is a lovely place to visit and there are some fantastic local places to eat so my advice would be to try those! Anyone looking to stay at the glamping pods, they are clean, compact and cosy. We stayed in a pod designed for 4 people. It has electric lighting and a USB charge point. There are BBQ facilities and picnic bench. The views are amazing and there is a lot of open space for the kids to run about, play ball and generally explore. You don't get a very strong mobile reception. The toilets are decent and there is hot water too, but would advise bring some toilet roll and loo wipes. Overall we had a great time but this is definitely on the lower end of the glamping experience. I would describe this as glamping on a budget as the cost to stay is very cheap for a weekend away.

The cafe and the staff were wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful or polite. The food was simply amazing! Opted for the large breakfast and wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Well cooked, and excellent value for money. Couldn't fault anything as far as the cafe and shop were concerned. Thank you all very much :-)Now, on to the camp site........Stayed here for a short break at Easter after deciding to ditch the tent and opt for the "glamping" experience for a change. Much easier travelling by motorbike without the tent! Our booking was made online via the glampingincheddar website, and having paid our deposit heard nothing more from the site owners. Can I add at this point that Lillypool Farm and Cafe have NOTHING at all to do with Lillypool Camping and Caravan site, and bear no responsibility for anything that the owners of the site do, or don't do...We arrived at the site and went into the cafe to see what we needed to do and where to go. The cafe staff said they'd not been given any details of our booking and knew nothing about what was going on. It would appear from comments made by the cafe staff that this wasn't the first time this had happened, and they weren't overly happy about it.The staff finally manage to contact someone from the camp site who said they'd sent me an email telling me where to find the key for the camping pod etc. Guess what, no email! We were shown to our pod - the only one in the whole field - and were happy enough. Although not massive, it was comfortable, clean and dry. Much better than a tent anyway. We were told that the owner would visit us sometime during our stay to collect the remaining payment. Guess what, again - no visit! All I can say is that it's a good job we're honest people, or we'd have just driven off in the morning and they'd have been non-the-wiser! We popped into the cafe and after much messing about by the more than helpful staff they finally gave up trying to contact the elusive site owners and took our payment and gave us a receipt.All-in-all, a very strange set-up.Would we go back again? The cafe, yes, not a problem. The camp site, maybe if they got their act together and realised that they actually need to interact with the people visiting their site and paying them money for the privilege of staying there.....

We were leaving Cheddar early Saturday morning and most of the cafes and tea rooms don't actually open until around 10 am but this little gem is at the top of the hills just outside of Cheddar and I have to say despite the cloudy weather and rain this was the best breakfast I've had in ages. The medium breakfast was 2 sausage 2 eggs 2 bacon fried bread, 2 hash browns, baked beans or tomatoes and a big mug of tea. All of this and only £6.25! That could easily cost a great deal more elsewhere and it was delicious. They were really fast and everything was hot and I couldn't believe how much I ate lol. This is a farm shop too so they have cider and cheeses available to buy if you want it so I highly recommend this as your breakfast option rather than maybe getting breakfast in the hotels as you get much more for the money and on a nice day it is a great location. Well done lillypool cafe and thank you

The breakfast is highly recommended by locals, so we thought we would give the vegetarian breakfast a try. It was well cooked and included veggie sausages and toast (not all cafes do!) but unfortunately was let down by the quality of the eggs which were pale and tasteless. If the eggs were changed to free range the breakfast would be perfect and at a good price.

Breakfast was lovely, not greasy as some cafes can be, staff were really polite and friendly. It was a tiny bit more expensive from what we're used to but the food was lovely so I soon forgot about the price

I occasionally stop in here for breakfast when I'm going for a drive on the Mendips. The staff are always nice and the food is always good. The only downside is the low number of tables, which can make it a nightmare when it's busy!

We stayed in the on-site pod in the main camping field for 3 nights. The pod is small but functional, with a seating area and table that converts into a double bed like a caravan, and a small sink. It also has solar powered USB ports and lighting. It is a bit pricey for what is offered but nice be camping minus canvas. There are 3 loos and a washing up sink just down the field and 3 showers a quick walk away at the cafe site. The staff are very helpful. The only downsides of the campsite are that there is a 24 hour quarry and a reasonably main road quite nearby, so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs and an eye mask!

We camped here a few weeks ago - it is a super spot with super views. The cafe owner and her team couldn't do enough for us our entire stay, going the extra mile wherever possible - thank you all!

My companion and I were looking for different places to have breakfast as an alternative to the hotel we were staying in, and had Lillypool recommended to us. As we were on our way from the way to a meeting in Cheddar it was only a small detour. The weather was beautiful that day, so it was really nice to be able to sit outside on the panted picnic tables there, which we noticed that staff were very diligent in cleaning regularly (a nice surprise). There are also possibilities to sit inside. A decent menu selection - a nice full breakfast, which was brought out to us at the table. Plenty of different options, and all freshly-cooked. They were fairly busy, but we found that the food came quite quickly.Toilets there were clean as well, which I appreciated.I took a look at their farm shop, which has a nice range of goods, some local, some not so local, but from small businesses. They make their own cider there, which was on the strong side, alcohol-wise.They only take cash, so be prepared for that, and, unless you ask for different, their coffee is instant. The fair-trade filter coffee that they have, though, is very good - you just have to remember to ask for it.The view across the road up the hill is quite nice as a breakfast spot, but the only negative (which they can't do anything about) is that the road runs right buy the place, and can get fairly loud and busy.

Been coming here for years and the breakfast never lets us down. They don't take card which can be a pain and it looks as though they may have put the prices up recently.

We stopped here on our way to Cheddar Gorge for a late breakfast. We have had a few full English breakfasts on our trip, but this, by far, was the best. Inexpensive and so so good. Got the medium size and we didn't need to eat until dinnertime! The place is small, but homey and you can tell the food was homemade and freshly cooked. Highly recommend this place to anyone traveling through the area.

I always love to visit Lillypool's after a heavy night out as it's breakfast is so darn good. Its not gourmet is not fresh, its fried and cheap but me along with everyone else who is packed in there due to the busy mornings love it.

I had found this cafe on here and as we were supposed to be stopping off to see relatives in Cheddar en route to Taunton from Lincoln, I thought we could stop here for breakfast. Service was great, food was great although I should have gone for the small breakfast instead of the medium as that was still very geneous in size and the prices are very reasonable. We were all (2 adults 2 teens and 2 toddlers) very impressed and sat in the lovely warm sun at 0800 enjoying the scenery.

Our Cheddar holiday, breakfast place!! The cafe is very light and clean, everything is cooked from scratch, the girls in there are very friendly!! It's always packed out when we go. We walk the dogs for a few hours, then we swing past (still with the dogs) and sit outside the conservatory, with a big dog bowl of water. The dogs are welcomed too! The menu is ENDLESS, there are TOO many things on offer. Vegetarian dishes are abundant, and we're not made to feel like an afterthought! The food is so hot you have to blow it, and that's OUTSIDE. Mugs of tea/coffee, plus milky coffee if you like. They're so nice here. Take your dogs to Cheddar, then go here each day and fill up on tasty home cooked, grub! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Downside - Went to the Lillypool Cafe recently during the spate of lovely hot weather, we asked for a sunshade and was told that they had sunshades but don't let the customers use them as they said and I quote " people put them up and down and break them" - I have never in my life heard of anything so ridiculous In my life - REALLY!!! So wanting to sit outside in the sunshine and in fact promoting the cafe to passing customers we suffered, ate fast and left.Upside - good value breakfast, and generous portions.

We ate here on 6 evenings. A family run business, friendly welcome, extensive menu, excellent food. Highly recommend.

Good food as always, but…the menu doesn’t highlight vegetarian options accurately. I queried a pizza with rocket pesto (vegetarian hard cheese as opposed to parmesan) - the waitress had to check then returned confirming the presence of parmesan. I then commented that in that case it wasn’t vegetarian. There was also a starter with burrata that had a ‘v’ next to it but I have yet to find a vegetarian version of this cheese.

Excellent food and lovely building! We came here as part of a trip to Cheddar for my partners 40th, glad I trusted the reviews and chose The Bath Arms. I had the mushroom and celeriac strudel which was delicious and different from the usual veggie options you see elsewhere. My partner had the steak pie, which he said was very good and filled up with meat. The chips he had also looked incredible! All in all, a very nice birthday meal!
