Had such a fun evening for my 30th birthday here. We hired the Function room area and it worked brilliantly for us. The staff were incredibly friendly, hard working and nothing was too much trouble. The cocktails here are lovely and the music was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Absolutely love this bar, drinks are amazing, staff are incredible and the atmosphere is so lush. Been here many times and will continue to do so 🥂🍻 As the venue doesn’t offer food - they do allow the option to grab a bite somewhere else and eat on the terrace as long as you buy a drink from there and it’s such a great idea 😁

Nigel was lovely, very friendly, knowledgeable and was on time, despite there being traffic and road works! Would highly recommend! Great entertainment for the hen and lovely cocktails!

On the rocks is amazing, polite staff, karaoke Wednesday evenings are the best. Friendly staff and always have a laugh with. Prices are good, gorgous cocktails that taste amazing. My favourite place to drink and have a good night out xx

Wow, what an amazing place, the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff give you a warm welcome when you walk in, the cocktails are by far the best I’ve ever tried and such a large choice which are all made fresh in front of you.

Amazing place... the only place in cheddar anyone can have a decent night out... always entertainment on every week.

This place is not only a total flop but also misleading par excellence. We wanted to grab something to eat… sat on the terrace and had to order by scanning the menu at the table. After a while, I asked at the bar about the drinks. The answer: we had to pick up our order across the street as takeaway. I said I had ordered here on the terrace. The response: ‘We have a partnership with the Fish n' Ship place across the street.’ So I picked up the food… While we were eating, the same barmaid came over and said we had to order drinks from here because picnicking wasn’t allowed. That wasn't written anywhere, nor did she mention it when I tried to order drinks at the bar earlier… So never ever again… even 1 star is too generous. I call it a rip-off – if not intentional deception. This place is not only a total failure, but also misleading par excellence. So never again... even 1 point is too much of a good thing... I call it demolition, if not intentional misleading.

On the rocks is a great place to go with different events on weekends and through the week! There’s a HUGE list of cocktails available as well as drinks on draft, the staff are super friendly and it can go from a cool chilled vibe to a great fun party! Definitely would recommend!!

Service is excellent I ordered guiness all night and I did not have to hang around the bar, but it was delivered to the table once poured and settled, so much better than waiting at the bar. The atmosphere is really great, especially on a Friday. Food from tuckers, which can be orders via a qr code is a great idea and we really enjoyed tuckers fish and chips.

Lovely bar with chatty and welcoming staff. Large variety of cocktails and they also do locals discounts. They put on special nights such as ABBA night, karaoke, comedy nights, live singers and barbecues. They also offer free venue hire which I used for my 21st birthday. Highly reccomend!

We sat down thinking someone would come by, turns out you had to order inside. Would have been good to know that. There was a QR code on the table, we thought surely this must be for this place,.nope. It’s for an entirely different place. They had a BBQ thing going outside and we decided to order two hot dogs. They arrived cold and in an old, dry and stale bun. The only thing that was somewhat warm were the onions. It’s safe to say after two bites, we were done with that. I would not recommend at all. The drinks were fine. The only advantage to this place is the location and the outdoor space.

It's got loud music and a busy crowd, but the cocktails were middling at best and it wasn't the place for me. Great for a fun club night with friends, not the place for a casual date night.

It is absolutely disgraceful behavior to deny ambulance crews access to pub toilets when they have no other options. Avoid this pub at all cost.

The best place to stop when visiting Cheddar Gorge, always the latest thatchers brew on tap and they do hotdogs which was fabulous 👌

Only stopped for a couple of drinks but the staff are very friendly and everything is reasonably priced. Nice facilities, clean; and a good selection of drinks.

Went out with my girlfriend from out of town, planned to meet up with a few friends, we were going to walk around cheddar then come here for some food. Girlfriend went to use the toilet and was met with a hostile staff member - telling her she was unable to use the toilet and had to buy something. She was told she should have ‘read the signs’, which she didn’t see nor locate easily. We understand it’s a rule and did plan to come in later for food but do not appreciate the lack of general manners and welcoming from staff. We didn’t come back.

This place is fantastic. Sat at the bottom of Cheddar Gorge, it is situated smack bang in the middle of the commercial area of the Gorge. The bring your own food idea is brilliant and I think more places should do this. The drinks menu here is varied and plentiful and reasonably priced too. We visited at a quiet time and we still felt a great vibe from the place. I would recommend a visit here. You will be back. So, decided to come back for another visit. I went for the house special cocktail, Rocks on fire. Only 1 per customer. The video says it all. Also got a chance to rest the batman's knowledge and he aced the test. I asked him for the perfect Jack Daniels cocktail. He replied. Jack and Coke mate.

Wonderful bar in Cheddar Gorge cocktails are amazing and the bar staff friendly it's my go to bar when in Cheddar absolutely love it! They don't do food but you can bring in your own!

Such a lovely shock and suprise to find it here in cheddar. It's my kind of bar , great music very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I've traveled a lot and the quality of the cocktails here are very good. If your In the area it's a must !!

Love this bar. Chilled, great service, background music, trendy. Makes me feel younger than I am. Cocktails, beers, softdrinks. Chipshop opposite, so able to get food from there if you need a meal.

We sat in a Monday afternoon next to the open windows in the game room with the plant ceiling, among the flamingos with crowns. I loved the atmosphere, even though I found the music a little too loud to have a conversation.

Nice place to sit and watch the world go by in a busy Cheddar on a hot day. Laid back feeling with DJs in the evening. Good choice of Tap beers and cocktails. Like that while they do not do food they welcome you to bring/have delivered from the other local eateries

If you are are not serving hot drinks maybe remove your hot drinks sign. We've just drove a long way to visit Cheddar Village, the public toilets are shut and so we came here to buy a takeaway drink to be able to use the toilet because we have a dog we aren't able to sit inside, but was told you aren't serving hot drinks. So I said okay, is my husband okay to just use the toilet? And the staff says yes he can but only just this time, not another time because I will get in trouble with my manager. I'm confused at why this point was being made as if we are taking liberties when I clearly was going to buy drinks, but the drinks werent available. Irritating, and so we will just drive out of Cheddar Village instead and either find a bush or wait till we eventually find a service station to use

I had a table booked with a group of girls , got there no one knew about the booking we found a table and was told the manager would be over he didn’t come . So we then went to the bar to be told the weren't serving cocktails because it was too busy ….. very disappointed a cocktail bar not selling cocktails 🍸 it’s was a special occasion for a friends 60th

We had a lovely quick visit at the pub. I enjoyed a lovely cocktail 🍸 and others had a local beer 🍺. Children friendly, with loads of games to keep the kids entertained. Lovely decor, each room looks different. Clean and modern bathrooms.

This is the best bar I have ever been to in my life . And I’ve been to a lot of them hahah. The service was 10/10 drinks were amazing , get down here what are you waiting for?!!! Also the interior is gorgeous and an amazing view

Wonderful unusual Pub, in the wonderful Cheddar Gorge. Visited on a Friday evening, lovely atmosphere and the mad Edd Crawley performing live music.

Lovley place, lovley staff and pub but I’m very very disappointed in the member of public who decided to steal half the food out my bag that I left there, if you were going to steal food I could of just given it to you. Sad and stingy get a life if you’re going to steal a bag of Doritos. Pathetic poor children.

Very expensive, service is terrible and floor staff (young male) not very nice at all when I was there. Very dangerous places with the steep steps. It's a pity because it has great potential.

We , 4 of us walked into what looked like a cool place how wrong were we We were greeted with a young woman who needed a personality transplant If she just took her head from up her arse and faced the world to be polite, nice to people that would’ve helped immensely. She was the most hostile woman we have encountered for a long time and with an attitude with capital A, so therefore we will never ever come back to that place, Hopefully the manager will take heat of this and get rid of her and replace her with somebody who can treat people without an attitude or her ounce of hostility!

Didn't plan to go here as we were just passing through, but were drawn in by the fantastic look of the place. Very atmospheric and cosy on a chilly evening. Fantastic margarita and great beer. Very apres ski vibe, which we love as skiers ⛷️. Definitely recommend.

Rented out the karaoke room with a group of my friends. The cocktails were amazing and the atmosphere here was fantastic. We all had an amazing night. The service was great all night and we loved watching the bar staff making our drinks. We would definitely come back again!

Whether visiting during the day or night On the Rocks has a great vibe. The cocktails are well made, the music is on point and the staff are very friendly too. Wednesday night is Karaoke night which is a particular favourite of mine, can't beat a little shouting to a song or two. If you haven't been, I would strongly recommend giving it a try, although beware, one visit is never enough.......

What a fabulous place, we played games , ordered a Chinese from Riverside was lovely and stayed there all night drinking, great night , very chilled night , great idea to take own food , brilliant, will definitely be back

Lovely cocktails unfortunately met at the entrance by two unenthusiastic staff. Arms folded and one vaping. We were a group of 7 and left to find our own table and then having to go to the bar to order our cocktails. We did however enjoy our cocktails.

Fantastic place for drinks with friends in Cheddar. Enjoyed a lovely pina colada and coconut mojito.

Rude bar staff and the fastest £8.00 Mojito I've ever seen made. It tasted exactly like I imagined it would awful. I took it back to be told it was ok. I've never seen a Mojito made in under 2 mins - this took 30 seconds. I'm sure this is a nice bar - just don't go there for a cocktail 🍸, they haven't a clue.

Me, my partner and my friend went to on the rocks and didn’t realise it was over 21’s on Friday and Saturday after 7pm. Nothing been said on their website so a wasted journey.

I don’t know if On The Rocks does food, but I went in with my son on Saturday afternoon. My son had a cocktail and I had a coffee. The place had a good atmosphere even that early. We decided to stay in Cheddar and spontaneously booked the Cheddar Bridge campsite. We then went to the Bath Arms for a meal before returning to On The Rocks for a few drinks. This place has a great atmosphere and must be the place to be in sleepy Cheddar. I would thoroughly recommend and will definitely return to the area.

Wow what a place . Amazing atmosphere and cheap beer. Right in the heart of cheddar and near everything!!

Staff were polite but my girlfriend had a severe allergic reaction to the dairy product used to make a pina colada. I've never been anywhere that serves pina coladas with dairy, and the menu didn't list any dairy products under the pina colada ingredients so of course I didn't think to question it. We were lucky that she noticed the difference in taste, because she only had one sip and still had diarrhea while we were camping. I asked the bartender what it was made with and she admitted it was dairy cream, not "coconut cream" as was stated on the menu. She said that there was a typo on the menu, that it was missing the word "and" between "coconut" and "cream" which I find really hard to believe. Typos usually have a wrong or missing letter, not a whole word. She offered us a free drink which was nice but it didn't compensate for the fact that my poor girlfriend couldn't enjoy the rest of her night or the following morning. As you can imagine, diarrhea while camping is an absolute nightmare. It sounded like the bartender was already aware of the menu issue once I brought it up, so I wonder why it hadn't been updated already?

Great new Cocktail bar. You can take your own food and eat while you have a nice Cocktail. Super Kebab house just a few doors away and a Chinese Takeaway too.

We popped in here for a drink after our meal nearby. It was very bright and loud 'ish' in a very closed Cheddar that evening, we were like months to the flame. I remember this place when it was a run down old pub, it's certainly changed for the better. It's got a Carribbean vibe to it now, palm trees and flamingos all over the place, but what struck us most was the reggae music playing...I say reggae, it was reggae versions of very popular pop and rock music, (e.g. 'Wish You Were Here' by Pink Floyd 😳). The weird thing was that it kinda works and I downloaded the track soon after 😁 There's a nice selection of drinks on tap, but not particularly cheap. Would definitely visit again when back in Cheddar 👍
