The best restaurants in North Somerset South West

The only place I know sells potato scallops, yummy, better than chips. All the food was delicious, and the service was brilliant. There was a carton of pop and a little game for my grandson, smashing! I'll be going again.

Amazing kebab house. Never had a bad one. The guys are friendly as hell, great service and even though most people would prefer a shish - I just love their chicken doner. Amazing lads!

Worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had. Rice tasted boiled not fried. Sauces like water and no flavour and to top it off, Chicken was barely cooked enough. Ended up throwing 90% of it away. Not recommended.

We ordered a takeaway this evening. Simply put it was brilliant. Really quick, great value for money and the food is amazing. This will 100% be our regular Indian takeaway spot.

Attention to detail! No candle just a quiet happy birthday! Perfect end to a birthday celebration week for us both! Absolute credit to the team!

So we have lived here for a few years and Papa’s has always had a good reputation and today we really fancied Fish n chips. We waited politely at the “wait to be seated” sign and were studiously ignored by a tall blond lady chatting with a small woman in a black trilby. When they were good and done with their discussion we were crammed into a corner and given menus. It doesn’t take long to be honest, does it, to chose your meal but when we asked if we could order we were told that we were “in a queue”. The restaurant was fairly empty at this point. The table behind us also heard this retort and we exchanged glances and chatted about how odd the whole vibe was, snarly and decidedly unfriendly. We’d already got a bad feeling so probably ordered less than we may have. The food came fairly fast and was very generous and the fish was nice, well cooked with good home made chips . But the waitresses were so snarly and straight faced and unpleasant it kinda ruined the whole experience. I heard her with some tourists who wanted to share a meal and wanted to go and apologise for our country and its rudeness. Next I heard the small one snap at a table of ladies saying “I told you that wasn’t included” and watched them share an awkward look. We finished, paid and no-one asked if the meal was OK, or if we’d like anything else, they just are not interested at all. The food is pretty good but I would REALLY avoid eating in as the service here is so cold and unpleasant- it is really uncomfortable and for £43 I honestly don’t think a smile or a thank you is too much to ask? Or better still choose another as there’s plenty of place who might appreciate our trade.

Had our first meal here this lunchtime. Great friendly and courteous staff. We were sat by a door and they had checked a number of times if we were warm enough and that they were happy to close it if we’d like. Now for the all important thing the food… blooming lovely! If you’ve seen the photos and thought gosh that looks good then you won’t be disappointed. We aren’t local so we can’t make it a regular but if we were then it would definitely be our go to. We will most definitely visit again!

Exceeded expectations. Phenomenally friendly stuff and delicious food and proper coffee. What not to like about hot scones!!

Purely by chance we were on the seafront in Clevedon and spotted 5 the Beach. On going in, it was pretty busy and we were lucky to get seated... The waitresses wasted no time in taking our order and were extremely friendly and helpful . Straight away we felt at home and loved the decor, especially the mirror tiles on each end of the restaurant which gave it a much bigger feel My Goats cheese,red pepper baguette came in very quick time and was great, my wife had toasted teacakes...+ Two coffees.. Everybody who was in the restaurant seemed very happy .. Would like to try other things on the menu ....there will be a next time...we were well impressed....the waitress recommended booking in advance to get a table especially as it can be very popular.!! Looking forward to another visit before long .👍

Delightful, and superb food. Excellent value and very well kept beer. We shall be back.

6 adults and 2 children all served professionally at the same time with great food. Total bill was less than £150 including drinks. A great locals gastro pub, highly recommended.

We have been coming here for years and always have such a warm welcome from the wonderful owners, alongside yummy food in a cosy atmosphere. Their soups are all amazing as is the fish pie and toasties. Doggy friendly outside across from a lovely wide picturesque beach, a great find!

We visited here with our camper van on a stop over. Phoned ahead to check it was OK to park overnight and were assured it was not a problem. The staff were cheery and welcoming. There was a great choice on the menu, as well as a specials board. Generous portions and good value for money. A popular place for locals given that although it was mid week, all but one table was occupied. Highly recommended! Great food, great place, and great people!
