FIVE the Beach and all it's staff are FABULOUS. Recently attended one of their Festive evenings, starter cocktail & nibbles followed by a delicious 3 course menu. It was a really special evening. It's no exaggeration to say it was the most divine food I/we've ever tasted. You can tell that the team there love what they do. Accommodating for vegetarians. We were warmly welcomed by the wonderful staff, as we always are at Five. A really top evening, I would highly recommend! Keep your eyes & ears open for when they announce another special evening dining experience!

We went to the Christmas Festive Evening on 13/12/2024 which consisted of fizz and nibbles and a 3 course menu. It was the first evening special we have gone to at Five the Beach and we loved it! The food was incredible, a great choice of courses, cooked and presented beautifully. The team were fantastic as always and there was a great ambience. Couldn’t fault anything. Really special evening - thank you!

5 The Beach, Clevedon have surpassed themselves again with their excellent Supper Club event last night. The food was superb in taste and quality and was so beautiful to look at, but then the food at 5 is always served with style. The care taken by the chefs and all the lovely staff ensured we had a delicious and perfect pre Christmas meal with our friends. I’m only sorry we didn’t take photos but we couldn’t wait to tuck in! The supper club evenings seem to sell out as locals ‘in the know’ make sure they book quickly! If you are looking for a friendly place for superb coffee, breakfast/lunch, /cream teas etc look no further. A special place indeed 💖

Seriously the best Sunday roast that we've ever had! The food here is consistently excellent and the service is always so friendly and efficient and I could wax lyrical about my favourite cakes too . . . but this lunch surpassed the lot! 4 very happy diners. Rip off Britain. Overpriced food then after leaving I realised they had added 20% VAT on top of menu prices and another 10% service charge. What a cheek. I’ve never been anywhere where they added VAT on top of their advertised price. It should be illegal. As for a tip. I would not have given one other than include the VAT in your menu prices!!!!😡😡

Arrived on opening at 9am on an off season Tuesday and half the tables were already booked by locals, so a definite sign of a good place to eat. Staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, asking all patrons wether local or not if they have any dietary requirements, vegan, dairy and gluten free options on the standard menu while not excluding those without said intolerances, so all in all and real nice place. One gripe I have is that when paying there was an automatic 10% tip added without asking. Don’t get me wrong, I was planning on giving a more than 10% tip cause of the great service, I just don’t care for the assumed tipping culture being imposed like in the USA. My server actually pointed out the added tip when I tried to give him £5 tip on the £30 bill and gave it back to me lol. As I said, I received great service at this little gem of a place.

The weather always seems to be great when I visit this place, I don't often find myself writing reviews from the same location, I tend to try and experience new things as often as I can. However, '5 the beach' seems to entice me to put pen to paper every time I visit. I cant seem to fault the varied cuisine each time I visit them. Its an hours drive each way for us as a family and well worth the visit to that seafront location.. This time I had the peanut thighs, ribbon veggies, lime and Coriander and it was superb, washed down with a craft ginger beer. The family had the loaded pork burger and my daughter an amazing baguette stuffed full of crispy bacon and cooked to perfection. I don't know how these guys keep the consistency going given the varied options across the board that are available to customers? Truly a superb experience yet again. Service was excellent and the staff attentive and approachable. Well Done all.

I cannot rate Five highly enough! The staff are friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious and exciting (whilst also offering your classics), and the cafe itself has a relaxing and homely vibe with a 10/10 view. We wouldn’t go anywhere else when visiting Clevedon. Down-to-Earth yet exceptional quality. You can simply tell it’s run by a family who truly care about creating a special experience and love their craft. Whether that’s for coffee and a bacon sarnie or crab linguine and a cocktail. It’s wasted visiting in a rush! Book a table if you can (it’s obviously popular!), settle in and enjoy.

Returned following an exceptional previous experience. I have to say it was as good if not better, the atmosphere was great, the sun was shining. Background music was pleasant and not too intrusive, very pleasant staff, attentive in a professional way. I had the grilled seabass and it was magnificent, my daughter has to have gluten free food and was well served here. I was back in Somerset this weekend to visit elderly relatives and had to make time to visit my favourite eatery in Clevedon - No.5. I was thrilled to discover they are now doing sunset suppers and for those who are not quite up for a full gastro experience they are welcome to enjoy the beautiful view with just a coffee and a slice of delicious cake. This cafe has the best views of the Victorian sea side resort and to be able to enjoy a glass of wine and good food as the sun sets was magical. Great idea and I felt I was in the South of France holidaying. The food was of its usual high standard and the value was exceptional. Well done guys. I will be down again before the summer is out and will be bringing friends who I have told so much about you and your charming place, they can't wait to try it.

We visited No 5 The Beach based upon other reviews and expected to enjoy a "traditional" cream tea. Unfortunately, the experience was spoilt by the state of the table area (outside) which needed a good clean. Also, being served a cream tea on disposable plates with tea in a paper cup is far from as enjoyable as eating and drinking from traditional china. That said, the fruit scone was delicious. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the cafe due to the cleanliness of the tables/eating area.

This is a cafe on the Clevedon waterfront therefore with a nice view. The food we ordered was lovely, but served in throwaway dishes with throwaway cutlery and plastic glasses. Paid £33 for 2 lunches, 1 elderflower drink and 2 cakes - which is overpriced in my opinion. They are only serving outside so it felt even more cafe than restaurant & after my meal & a drink I wasn’t allowed to use the toilet? Bizarre. Was told to go elsewhere to use a toilet? Really shocked with the tone! Other socially distancing cafes utilise 1 in/ 1 out with the loo.

Called in for a drink and something sweet this afternoon. Really enjoyed my cup of tea and chocolate Guinness cake. Coffee really good too, as were other cakes but I only had eyes for mine. Staff were really friendly but I wasn’t sure what their procedure was for cleaning tables between customers. Didn’t see any evidence of this. Quite expensive though I thought, nearly £20 for a tea, a coffee and a soft drink and 3 slices of cake.

We lunched at Five the Beach today and I must say it was such a treat. We each had a most delicious burger and crispy fries with lots of extras including a coleslaw with chopped dill running through it. We shared a really excellent Caesar salad which was served with a tasty piquant dressing, “proper” anchovies and crunchy croutons sliced from a French bread flute. The above was all washed down with an excellent latte and an americano. Five the Beach has adapted to the demands of social distancing in a very friendly and practical way. All appropriate measures have been adopted and yet it still feels friendly and welcoming. It’s a lovely atmosphere. We sat outside under a parasol and had a stunning sun-drenched view of the sea and the pier. It’s utterly gorgeous and I would have no hesitation in recommending Five the Beach.

Coffee was good and although we didn’t eat, the cakes looked delicious. I chose this cafe as it came up on a google search as somewhere “dog friendly” and was advertised with a picture of a dog. Having visited this lovely cafe last year on a trip down to Somerset we couldn't wait to return again this year. We decided to have a late breakfast and we weren't disappointed. The staff were so lovely and accommodating and allowed me to design my own breakfast which was so tasty and obviously made with the highest quality of ingredients. No.5 has such a lovely warm atmosphere and people obviously reserve tables for their breakfasts which is a high recommendation in itself as I have never known this in any other establishment. We then ventured on our way to visit family and friends in the area but couldn't resist returning to sample their cakes in the afternoon before commencing our trip back home in the North. There was an array of beautiful home made cakes but we both opted for a scone, cream and Jam as we were in the West Country. The scones were made fresh from the kitchen and were warm, light and perfection to be honest. I even asked for the recipe. We would recommend No.5 again and again. Its a must if you are in the area and the views and outside eating area are prefect too. Five stars from us ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Despite ominous black clouds we decided to sit outside (large brollies for protection). Superb quiche and salad and the most succulent chicken, bacon and avocado baguette (you could wish) washed down with nice glasses of wine. Lovely, friendly and switched-on (they offered us indoors when the clouds looked even blacker!!) waitresses who looked after us well. Stopped off here while viewing property in Clevedon. Standard menu with no sign of anything savoury. I asked a bespeckled man if there were an additional menu he responded “no! All you’ll get is cakes scones and drinks” with an attitude lacking people skills. We were famished so ordered cream teas (£7.50 so not cheap). I wanted plain scone - he came back to inform me “we’ve no plain left” no word of an apology. The tea and scones arrived - no spoon for the jam so we had to use our teaspoons ( for fear of having the affront to disturb him further) All in all it was an ‘ok’ cream tea, overpriced and turned sour by the poorest customer service I have received in some time. On the day the staff made us feel so welcome and worked really hard on our behalf to look after our guests, serve welcome drinks, sort out the cake for us, and generally keep everyone happy. We can not recommend this place more highly. What a fabulous setting!

We dropped in for lunch and what a change to see such an interesting menu. I could have selected so many things from it. 3 had the salmon quiche which they all said was delicious. I had the feta, mint and water melon salad which was so so tasty. The cakes looked divine but we resisted. Go there its great especially as you can eat outside overlooking the beach.

No 5 is a regular coffee and lunch spot for us but we wanted a large (60+) party to be held in the evening - we were not disappointed. The care taken by Mary and her staff both before and during the event ensured that both the food and service were fantastic and greatly appreciated by both ourselves and our guests. We have had so many compliments from our visitors regarding No 5 as a great venue and all understand why it is a favourite spot for us and a great asset for Clevedon. Thank you!

We sat outside (under the colourful parasols) as we had our dog with us. Our waitress was prompt, welcoming and helpful. My husband and I shared a cream tea with an addition hot drink which was not a problem at all. Generous fresh scones, tasty strawberry jam and an ample serving of clotted cream. Enjoyed overlooking the beach - fabulous even on a rainy June day.

Driving back from Devon towards Bristol, we got fed up with the endless jams and the endless queue to get into one of the motorway service stations, so we turned off the motorway and in 5 minutes were parked on the sea front at Clevedon, right in front of Number 5 The Beach. We very much enjoyed soup, a baguette, a warm scone and some lemon cake and charming service. We returned to do battle with the M5 refreshed in body and spirit!

great for breakfasts and light lunches, superb cakes and cream teas in the afternoons, even better if it's warm enough to sit outside.

I visited this cafe with my Mum and husband. We have been here many times before and it never lets you down! We always book as it gets super busy, we went for brunch as this fitted with our plans. The staff are so friendly, the food is amazing! I had the dirty beans which was fabulous and very filling. My mum had the bagel with scrambled eggs and my husband had the full English. We would definitely recommend this cafe, but remember to book!

Long distance drive and wanting a more relaxing break than motorway service area. Traffic very heavy around Bristol, so Googled good cafes near me and followed the directions to 5 the Beach.

We always visit this lovely cafe on the front at Clevedon. Breakfast is excellent but this time we were in for tea and cake at 4pm. Delicious-the cakes are really good. Service is always friendly and the ambience is good. Well worth a visit.

Lovely, lovely cafe!! Food was delicious as was the coffee but what really makes this venue stand out is the fantastic staff!! We hadn’t booked but despite being full they found us a table which we promised to vacate within half an hour (we are speedy eaters!!)

Lovely spot on the seafront. Great selection of cakes and excellent coffee (with lactose-free options). We were there for morning tea but saw lots of nice food coming out to other diners. Friendly staff and good service.

lovely lunch with friends. Service was really friendly. The food was great. I am a vegetarian and it was lovely to have a real choice between a variety of dishes. I had carrot and haloumi balls with hummus, leaves and a chilli dipping sauce....delicious! I also had one of the best decaf flat whites I have ever had. The cakes looked amazing, but I was too full from lunch to try them. Will definitely go back.

It’s always busy at No.5 especially at breakfast time! With a varied menu and a hot drink included there’s something for everyone. I’m strict gluten free but this isn’t a problem with gluten free bread and sausages available for a big fry up or smoked salmon and hollandaise for a fancy start to the day. Staff always friendly and this trip didn’t disappoint! Back again soon!!

We just had our Christmas meal at Shanicatti Shakes there was 10 of us. We had Afternoon tea, it was beautiful, sandwich’s, hot pastries, scones, chocolate flapjacks, sticky toffee pudding, apple crumble…. All made fresh and presented beautifully. I have to say it was so nice to do something different that wasn’t your standard Christmas meal. The service and love and care they put into what they do is outstanding. If you want a treat please go there you will not be disappointed. Thank you Shanicattis we will be back. 🩷

Popped here on way home as love old country pubs.. It is beautiful inside..old beams and a log fire..so cozy.. We both had veg soup and half a tuna mayo sandwich.. Also had thatchers cider...delicious.. Soup was hot and the sandwich was huge and packed out with tuna mayo.. Had a quick look at the garden..it has lots of different areas including an outside tv area.. Young girl serving our food was sweet and friendly.. We will be going back in the summer with our little dog as that garden is fab😁
