The best restaurants in North Devon South West

This lovely Indian restaurant has had a name change…………See Malabar Kitchen! Food still lovely as ever , as is the service.

Friendly, attentive staff. The food was delicious. Can definitely recommend the mussels and sticky toffee pudding. Our whole party said how brilliant the restaurant was.

As Costa’s go this one was clean and had a friendly and quick service. The mocha came in a giant mug and the server carried it over to the table for me as I was carrying a baby. They also provided a disposable cup when I left. Good stop while waiting for a train especially if the cafe at the station is closed. Dog friendly.

This was our first visit and we were slightly nervous having read previous reviews. We both had beer battered fish and chips which were excellent. Crispy batter, generous portions and all freshly cooked and hot. Service was friendly and efficient. Would recommend for good pub food.

Stopped here yesterday for a drink in the sunshine & decided to have lunch as the food being brought out looked nice. We got a drink & sat out on the raised seating area overlooking the sea which is brilliant. We ordered 4 fish & chips which looked lovely when brought out, but we were very disappointed as the fish was tasteless & mushy when cut open. It was obviously frozen fish, not fresh which we found strange being where it was situated, along with 12 chips at £15 we thought could of been alot better. Service, staff, drinks & views brilliant, but on our experience food very disappointing.

I came in last Saturday, the food was very good. However one of your members of staff was very attentive and friendly but was clearly overwhelmed as the other two members of staff were too busy talking to a woman at the bar then paying attention to the customers. and leaving this poor girl to from what I could see essentially run the front of the cafe. If I were their manager I would have a strong word with them.

Not having oat milk is becoming a regular thing with all Costas now. Also, please and thank you don’t seem to be in the staff vocabulary either. You can smile and tell me to have a good day, but if you don’t say please when asking for money, or thank you when I hand it over, I’m going elsewhere in future!

A really lovely place for Sunday lunch. Outside tables with a great view, great menu and friendly staff. Very dog -friendly.

Amazing and nice location for a wedding

Lovely vibe, good beer and great service. Went in with our dog made to feel really welcome. Staff couldn’t be more helpful or attentive.

We’re locals and have been coming for a few years now, had the chicken Schwarma for dinner tonight, can honestly say it’s the best kebab in North Devon! Knows spots off any of the Barnstaple kebab shops (view is great too!)

We popped in for a coffee and take in the views, they were prepping for a wedding, lovely staff and really felt welcome. Beautiful Oat Latte and sat outside taking in the stunning views
