The Heanton Court has a wonderful atmosphere. The Christmas Day food was amazing and the staff were really welcoming. It was a wonderful way to spend Christmas Day with family.

Another success from M&B. Our server Elise was outstanding. She was polite and helpful. We were very well looked after. The food was very good and well presented! Had the camembert frita on caramalised onion and mushroom chutney together with the Sticky crispy chicken in sweet chilly (freshly made). Absolutely worth a visit...

Wasn't offered the Christmas menu on arrival, given wrong order. Menu was the same as last year, too much thyme on food. Was easily 8 bits all mixed into food, was like eating twigs. The stuffing was the size of a 50p and extremely small and dry. The potatoes were burnt and soggy. Will not be returning again.

Took a little pit stop here, visited here couple of years ago when it was called the Braunton Inn. Happy it's doing better now!

Free parking, very impressive Heaton Court with sun terrace and access to the cycle path. The interior is impressively comfortable. We stayed for cold drinks which were brought out too us. A very pleasant relaxing place for food and drinks. Highly recommended would visit again. We sat indoors beside a roaring fire, fabulous! Not too busy at midday on a Wednesday, cold drinks and a lunch, nicely presented food, chicken pie mash and veg, beef toasted sandwich with sauce and fries. Both were delicious. Highly recommended. Surroundings very comfortable. Will visit again.

Great food while sitting out in the autumn sun, the thai curry was wonderful and staff were very attentive with regard to food allergies. All in all a great experience Just dropped in for a drink a few months later, different staff but equally as good 👍

It was a very friendly atmosphere, the food was fantastic. I had the Mac'n' cheese with a salad and it was the best one I've ever had. The salad was fresh and had a dressing that was amazing. The Mac'n' cheese was cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of cheese in it. We will definitely be returning when we are next on our holidays

We like visiting Heanton Court but will have to avoid for a while due to the damage caused to our car on the pot holes and very poor entrance drive, please get this matter fixed urgently !

Lovely cosy atmosphere. Had a table by the fire. Food was really good. Excellent service.

We usually like the place but this visit was a bit of a disaster. Two of our meals were forgotten then came out cold. I had gammon, which was tough. We also had to remind them about the desserts. However, the choux pastry banoffee pie was delicious. Having only one real ale, Doombar, is not very good.

Fantastic friendly staff good food our go to place for food, coffee and family events, all the staff here are a credit to the pub,came again Friday afternoon for a meal, what a fantastic location with sun shining on estuary this must be the best place to eat in North Devon

Came to this wonderful location yesterday for lunch with my family and it was amazing. We were seated and served by Clare who was so lovely and friendly and made sure we were happy with everything. The food was wonderful, we had the calamari and the prawn cocktail for starters with the salmon and chicken pie for our mains and it was all spectacular. Well done to all the staff making it such a lovely meal 10/10!!!

This is a lovely spot for a bite to eat. We ate outside with a view of the Yeo estuary. Staff seemed genuinely friendly and we had a great time. Main meal and drinks for four adults came to just over £100

Had the burger with brisket which was tasty, calamari was I bit tough to be honest as a starter, nice wooden fire, was quite quiet so did lack atmosphere but a lovy building

Dropped in so we didn't book a table but we were greeted very nicely and they found us a table for 5. Ordered the food and drinks. The kid meal of chicken nugget and chips left a bit to be desired. The garlic bread was really dry that we ordered as a side but the other meals were OK. Value for money with the Hunters Chicken but the rest I think were overpriced for the quality. Staff were lovely.

Really lovely place. Service was a little off this time but otherwise perfect. Can't wait to go back.

Food was nice ,but quite expensive compared to similar establishments, decor was OK but was expecting better for the prices

Tried this place for the first time as I love other Mitchell & Butler brands (Toby Carvery, Harvester) and from the outside I have always thought it looked nice and was keen to try it. But sadly, this did not live up to the usual standard I expect from this chain. It was disappointing to learn it was bar service, as other M&B chains offer table service and I expected the same. There is also an app to order food, which seems pointless as there were no table numbers and therefore could not proceed with using it. The menu on the app was also slightly different to the ones on the table. The food itself was by no means bad, but for the price you pay for it, I was expecting way higher quality. I couldn't help but compare the meals we had with other places locally such as Brewers Fayre, and in terms of value for money I have to be honest this place just didn't cut it for me. The decor also felt rather worn, and one of our ramekins was very chipped. Again, for the price you would not expect this. Overall, I am giving 3 stars because the food was more than adequate and the exterior decor was very nice, but I cannot give more than this because it was not value for money and while I am glad I gave something different a try, I wouldn't return for the prices they are charging.

Really nice, authentic pub just off a gorgeous view of the beach. The atmosphere is next level as the staff are more than accommodating. Not only does it have a vast choice of drinks, the food is amazing. Definitely recommend for food, drinks and all occasions. 10/10 all round!

Veg were raw, not eldente. Roast potatoes must have been yesterday's. The meat was OK. And a trickle of gravy. Not really what you expect for £20 from vintage inn's.

I took my visitors for Sunday lunch and as always it was first class . Clare and Carrie always look after us so well .We had four different meals and they were all perfect. Such a lovely place to go .

Went for Sunday lunch on the way home. Lovely staff and service and the food was ok, but not the biggest of portions for a roast, and the roast potatoes weren't roasted, still hard inside them.

This place is located in a lovely spot right on the Tarka Trail with great views over the estuary.Very spacious with a huge outdoor space too and lots of tables.If you were walking fast or cycling on the Tarka Trail,you could easily pass by and not even realise it was there.I can't understand why they don't have signs and boards that the public can see,and do some promotions or specials to attract the many cyclists.We walks into the pub and a woman jumped out at us and asked can I help you.As it's a walk in pub,I can't see the point,very off putting tbh,not a warm or friendly place.We found a table and I went to the bar to order drinks.I asked for Gordon's gin and ordinary tonic.She poured a gin and topped it up with tonic from.a pull on the bar.Not offered bottled tonic,my husband didn't like the taste of it,I dont know what gin she served but I found out later they don't sell Gordon's but she never mentioned it No small bottles of Prosecco just a 125 mil glass offered at an extortionate price so I had a glass of Rosé instead which was quite nice.We both ordered the chicken and veg Penang curry which wasn't bad,a bit too much sticky rice.The 2 females and 1 male,just yakking all the time,very poor attitude towards the customers,and the one who jumped on us when we arrived was making such a noise banging the cups,saucers, coffee machine,that we got up and moved tables.The place has got so much potential but spoiled by the unfriendly staff with very poor customer service skills .We spent about £80 but as we left,all 3 staff behind the bar,one sitting on a stool ,yakking,no cheerio or thankyou.Whoever owns this place,your front of house are losing you money.I think they thought we were holiday makers,well we're not,haven't been here for a while so thought we'd try again.Needs a big shake up.

Great venue, clean and tidy. Staff were friendly throughout my visit. The manger was welcoming customers when entering the venue and he made us feel very welcome. The food was brilliant and the waitress was lovely. Highly recommend this place and if the weather's good the gardens are simply stunning.

A quick stop off between Braunton and Barnstaple great outdoor area, staff welcoming, no requests a problem,range of beer excellent and well kept. A happy experience!

Need more staff, waiting too long to be served. Table sticky, had to wipe with baby wipes. Not a great experience. Waitress couldn't be bothered, didn't make eye contact. All in all a bad experience.

Was advised by a family member a visit was a must, beautiful setting beautiful food, service not good, after listening to a member of staff slating the company for being over worked during the summer months, he then proceeded to tell us we would not be able to use my sons discount that had already been accepted by the lady serving us! Miss communication she said but we though just rude, he couldn't be bothered to find out what happened or a suitable resolution!! Which really took away any positivity we thought of the pub!!! Won't be back!!!

There is an accessible disability toilet downstairs via key from bar staff. Nice views from garden when weather suitable

What a beautiful site and food to match! I had the trio roast and my friend had the sirloin steak and triple cooked chips, mine was absolutely delicious and my friend said hers was also, the building inside and out is stunning, we rode from barnstaple along the tarka trail to here, staff very friendly and helpful just watch out for the seagulls

Lovely pub with ample choice of the menu, food was really flavoursome and reasonably priced.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Our first visit on Tuesdsy was so good that we booked again for Friday. The food was truly excellent on both our visits, the roast lamb was actually the finest lamb I have ever had in a restaurant. We shall definitely visit again the next time we are in the area.

I like this place. We’ve been a couple of times. They do a really nice roast dinner. Roast beef is very nice. The pork belly is particularly good. Last time I ordered the ‘trio’ which is all the meats and I should have ordered that again. Lots of roast veg. I love the gravy - salty and thick. Beautiful location. Service is very good and staff are lovely- though it gets very busy they seem to be on it all. And despite the rush a waitress came running after me as we left as I forgot my hat!

Great spot by the river. Standard fayre for food. But a nice spot for a drink. Ignore the Order and Pay at Table, because the staff will ignore it anyway.

Originally booked for a meal, lots of items not in. OK this happens but there was a shortage of staff, ok again this happens. However antiquated way of queueing for a beer or food, with no structure. Such a shame as it lacked in atmosphere. 😔👎🏻so much scope missed out on.

Ok The food is not particularly expensive, but then it is of a poor quality. All the vegetables are far from fresh. The rest of the food differed from its description. Furthermore, we had to wait one hour for our food And when it did come, the waitress was surly and dismissive and refused to wipe our table. On the plus side, The bar staff were quite pleasant and sitting outside is quite nice.

Went here order 1 med wine(£7.95) ,pint, neck oil , pint of thatchers haze, one cider , 3 pints cokes of coke ( told only size ) £34.50 needless to say will not be returning

Was not expecting the great food, can recommend the 'trio' for Sunday lunch. Took Sunday lunch to the next level with great service. There is plenty of good seating outdoors when the weather allows, and it's just yards off the Taka Trail which you access through the gardens.
