Costa Coffee in North Devon

The girl who is making cofee tried to fill my cup with more than half of foam just so she doesn’t have to warm milk again and give me half even though she knew i am watching what she doing still she did it . Its the second time happend with me . Poor service

Sandwich was awful hardly any filling at all for the price it costs won’t be ordering again

Order was late and missing items. Phoned Costa, no answer. Drove to the Costa I selected and said they couldn’t do the refund

Nobody bothered to let me know that they either didn’t have lemon drizzle cake, or couldn’t be bothered to put it in the bag. I want a refund for the item I didn’t receive.

Honestly never normally one to complain. That being said for the first time ever when ordering the pink lemonade the young woman behind the counter (she was still absolutely lovely no fault) added tap water into the strawberry syrup instead of still lemonade. Was generally confused at first thinking that’s how they are made now for my friend who manages a Costa to tell me that’s not right at all and essentially I’d just paid £5 for a few pumps of syrup 💀 I will say this is the only negative experience I’ve had with this particular Costa every other time top notch and the lady who normally makes my pink lemonade you deserve a raise sis because dang iz goooood 😂🫶🏻 and costa pay your staff more for the amount of stress you put on them yours not very sincerely (your staff and management team deserve more than they are getting for the outstanding customer service they always give) 😂🤷‍♀️

Order wasn't even complete!! Food was not even in just-drinks. Very bad service

made an order. they cancelled it. ordered again a couple hours later and they brought my order from 7.30am. my 2nd order had more items which I didn't receive. my drink is hours old so melted and watery. don't expect to pay so much and gey an old order.

Drinks were spilt because they weren't secured in bag and guy was riding a bike

Never received order, delivery driver called to tell us he hasn’t got our order and we need to call Costa, tried to call with no answer. Says delivered but never received.

Food was burnt and some was missing. I’m yet to receive my refund

I Ordered a hot chocolate and breakfast wrap only the hot chocolate arrived went to re order and it’s out of stock I now need to reorder food paying delivery again so the refund will not cover the inconvenience or my lunch

Coffee and all hot drink absolutely stone cold

Hot chocolate not sealed properly leaked everywhere and one of the toasties was open and the filling hanging out.

A very kind faced, good looking guy made my experience a lot better. Thankyou. ☺️

Really poor service from someone who wasn’t even wearing Costa uniform… don’t often get cold drinks, but the one I got today was abysmal in comparison to the other local Costa that I normally use. Won’t be using this one again

Clean, airy and staff fabulous and happy.

A smallish Costa, but excellent, friendly staff, and comfortable furniture. As always, the coffee and hot chocolate were excellent.

I have just been refused a new popcorn frappe at the till as i don't have a costa card?? I very rarely have a coffee out & only came in for a treat with my daughter. Really disappointed with the cold "tough luck" attitude of the server. It should be advertised as a loyalty card only drink before a customer can enter to purchase it at least. Will not return.

The Barnstaple branch of Costa is plagued with problems from faulty machines, lack of ingredients to being given the wrong products. Other Costa branches are great however.

After telling me I couldn’t use the free drink I’d come in to use because I’d ordered a festive drink, they forgot about my order, then once I’d finally left I discovered that they’d given me a regular drink instead of a festive one and paid full price for something I didn’t even get. I was too far away by then to bother going back. I’m sure they count on that with takeaway orders. Go to the station road Costa instead, the staff there are lovely and can actually do their jobs.

Nice place, decent coffee, good pleasant staff, looks odd without the screens though.

Day trip to Barnstaple with family. Called into Costa for a brew. Not over loaded with people. Got served quickly. Prices ok. Place needs a good clean though. Staff friendly.

This is my most favourite coffee shop in town. I'm a regular in there, and I pop in everyday to get my large gingerbread cream latte. 😋 The staff in there are all fantastic, ever so friendly, I get along with them all, they are always helpful, if ever there was something I wanted that wasn't there, they would happily advise me and let me know when there next order is in. Costa is what I call my happy place to walk into, as all the staff welcome you with a smile 😃, that's what we all need I think.

Coffee and service are good but when cleaning the tables and chairs were getting dragged around and the nice quiet cup of coffee with my friend turned into a noisy one. Could not wait to get out.

Customer service fairly poor, young staff receiving no real direction. Short queue & 4 staff, when it came to my turn was ignored with everyoidies back to me for almost 5 mins whilst they attended to orders but no acknowledgement or apology. When it was eventually my turn perfectly pleasant & as always good coffee.

Coffee was of standard. Short staffed and we were told this. Team not happy. The shop was closing early, staff were unsmiling and clearly under pressure. If not enough staff change the opening times to fit staff availability. Look after your staff as they will then look after the customers. I know hospitality is suffering, manage people expectations. Control the controllable. Looking after your team will pay off in the long run

Good coffee. Nice selection of drinks thought they didn't have ANY frostinos or coolers when I went in. Unfortunately let down by the shockingly high price, very young inexperienced staff (who do all they can but they just don't have enough staff to deal with demand) plus none of the staff seem to wear masks even before the 19th July or wear hairnets/do their hair in a bun. Just don't feel especially safe in there anymore COVID wise and not worth the high price. Luckily there's about a million Costas in my town so I visited another one.

Very friendly and efficient staff. They were having a very busy day and due to this we're struggling to keep on top of the dirty cups, and plates. No complaints with service, coffee or the lemon and Blueberry cake.

called here to pass our time on way to Holiday site in North Devon. Was desperate for a drink and a snack and we came across here near to the car park. wasnt very busy, food and toast was very nice. staff were very helpful and friendly. Toilets were spotless

Not the best coffee I have ever had for some reason. I am a huge Costa fan, we even drink it home, but this time, not so good and I ended up leaving half of it.

As a well known business owner myself I am fully aware of the importance of CRM, C19 rules and regulations. However, what will without doubt now stop me from frequenting this establishment is the young mans attitude and approach towards myself and my gf today, and on previous occasions. I am triple his age, I do not appreciate being spoken too, demanded to then stand exactly on the designated floor spaces in front of customers like I was a school kid being told off. Absolute disregard, disrespectful and no need at all to approach anyone in that manner.

We have just bought a cheese and ham TOASTIE in the Wimborne operation and surprise surprise it was only toasted on one side(the top). So we sent it back. It was then returned with the advice that's the way the machine does them? Am I missing something here? Energy saving move? Save the planet? When is a TOASTIE not a TOASTIE when it's a demi toastie. Anyway the taste as Ok The staff are good at what they do etc apart from explaining why they don't have toasted bottoms.

Couldn't get seated on first visit, due to social distancing, so returned 30 minutes later. Table was cleared and sanitised for us. Great cup of coffee, as usual.

We called in for coffee and a cake on a wet and busy lunchtime. We joined the queue not really expecting to get a table but a cheerful young man was organising things. He ascertained we wanted to eat in whereas most in the queue were after takeaways. He assured us there would be a free table as soon as we were served and, true to his word, he found us one. We were pleased to find the coffee was served in china cups unlike the paper variety we had found elsewhere recently. Excellent service and a pleasant experience makes us want to return. Well done!.

Chocolate twist was nice and they warmed it up for me, I like that they consistently have chocolate twists. Honeycomb frostino and mocha was very tasty also. Staff were really nice and helpful and I had a nice chat with a nice man who worked there while he made my drink (didn't catch his name but he was quite tall with a moustache)!

I am sorry, but I won't be returning. When you are being ordered where to sit this has all gone to far! We are NOT children at school! Furthermore, why do you have the tables setup that you're not allowed to sit on? They are so close together everyone is touching them yet these are NOT sterilised. Finally, you go from table to table using the same cloth too clean with? Not an experience I will be repeating. I felt awfully for the young girl who works in there. The way she was being dictated to and treated was also like a child in school!

Visited while on holiday you could tell the staff was struggling a bit mainly due to Covid situation. It was the manager or team leader chap that said we couldn't sit down as no more seats left, As we had to queue for quite some time the manager said there are now seats available which he saved for us. The staff were really showing urgency behind the counter so I can't fault waiting long that's just how it is. Everything was cleaned for us and the Manager had a chat with us and explained how busy it has been but was really positive and really friendly with us. The staff deserve credit as they was working so hard.

The staff are really friendly and the fostinos are to die for! The hygiene is very good compared to others. I highly recommend coming here!

Staff are polite and try to expedite orders quickly, it's a standard Costa experience, which isn't a bad thing when you just want a nice coffee.

Nicely located cafe in High Street , coffee was as expected from this chain. Disappointing that when food order is ready staff shout out ,telling you ( and everyone else ) come and get it!! Also don’t appreciate menus on table which are covered in food/drink.

Wandering in town and have 10 minutes to kill. My usual place (not costa) was mega busy. So thought I will do a Costa. Mistake! First off I don't mind a queue. The inefficency of the staff is what was causing the queue. The staff member being Barista was with the gentleman ahead of me and kept asking what the drinks were. Fine it is a big order.....nope 2 drinks. The staff member then is reminded that he hadn 't paid yet. I then placed my order, cortado and a croissant. The barista then had to ask how to make a cortado once they were in the know, the coffee was ground and the milk steamed. She then realised that there were no cortado glasses! Her colleague went off in search of one, so I thought. She apologised for the delay only for the colleague to return empty handed. When asked there was cortado glasses on the worktop behind her. The best bit.......the ground coffee had been left in the portafilter for the duration. It was then used and so was the milk which had also been standing waiting. Hey presto a luke warm cortado! The croissant was stale, I mean like yesterdays bake stale..... Not a good experience. I enjoy my italian coffee experiences, but this was not one of them.

exactly what you expect from a costa.good service,good coffee and a relaxed atmosphere.only negative is having to use a code to enter toilet which makes it a two handed operation but I have noticed it is becoming more commonplace in costa in town centres I guess to stop people using off the the street without making a purchase.
