The best restaurants in Coleford Central Forest of Dean South West

Summer here so opted for cheese & bacon quiche with salad& chips instead of new potatoes. Look at the size of that plate full and great value for money nearly all meals at £8 or under.

Wonderful cake! Really that says it all. Actually this place really does surprise, beautifully quirky and full of interesting things. However, although the drinks are good, the standard of the cake baking is outstanding. Just go in, try the sponge Cake topped with copious amounts of cherries topped with almond flakes. Guaranteed you will go back for a second visit, we did just that. So good.

A really excellent tiny deli! We had the best time at an informal (and very reasonably priced) cheese and beer tasting. They were very accommodating of my dietary requirements (gluten free) and do lots of excellent alternative local brews and non-alcoholics for those who don’t want the beer. We ended up ordering additional bits such as olives, charcuterie and sour dough which was all fantastic. The owners were so friendly and their passion for great, local food made it all the more of a lovely experience. The sitting area looks out the shop front window and as an added bonus you can watch the world go by as you eat.

We spotted this place on nearby things on Google maps and decided to go seek it out, and what a good choice that was. The 2 ladies there were both lovely, very chatty and made us feel like part of their family. We had the cheese scone with onion chutney and OMG it was amazing. It was one of the best we have ever had. Drinks we had a flat white coffee and a hot chocolate and they even let me have a chocolate flake with it which was really good. They do afternoon teas which we will be booking for next time we are in the area. Highly highly recommend a visit here. They are right on the Railway Drive carpark which costs £4 for all day parking, so nice and easy access. Don't hesitate to pop into here, just go and enjoy a warmed cheese scone (other foods are also available lol). We will deffo be returning here again. Booked on day of visit waited 10 mins to order drinks then asked for a couple of mins extra to order food waited over 30 mns to place food order before we have got up and went to pay for drinking and as asked if we where paying for food we said we had bn unable to order food the male got agresive towards us and states people around here r rude which is unacceptable we then went to local tapas bar who could not be more helpful and service withing 10 mins food with in 20 mins we where also told not to come back for complaining that another table seated well after us was severed drinks and food order taken while we waited to pay for drinks another table had complained about poor service after we came from tapas bar we bumped into the table that had bn severed before us after arriving after us to find they didn't get some for there food and where not happy never will we ever go again to be met with aggression from staff please avoid they r so rude trying to intimidate a female for not being ready to order when they wanted and all but telling u to pzzz off never will we ever step foot in this place again

Lovely little cafe that we came to while on a camping trip ready for the transport festival Monday. food was great and came quickly, waitress who served us was very polite and friendly- young lady with dark long hair up in a clip. But as we were getting ready to leave another of the waitresses ( short haired girl) rudely started having a go raising her voice aggressively at young lady who served us while customers were able to hear it all, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. she’d be sacked in a second if it were my establishment. In our time there she seemed to be the one not doing much work at all while the other 2 waitresses done it all around her. This is our second year coming here but as long as this woman is working there we will not be returning. Hope the young lady is ok!

Went there tonight for the new pigs in blankets with chips and Yorkshire pudding my boy said it was amazing. We frequently go to als plaice for his burgers as they are the best in town 👍👍

Seven of us visited Friday night for the first time indeed it was a great night food so good ( take own drinks) no rush staff very helpful the food was not rushed very hot we’ll presented will Defenetly book to go again

Went to the restaurant as a groups of friends. A little hard to find the way in. It has the feel of an old club hall and bar. The young staff that were in were so polite and attentive. The food was delicious. I have roast beef with a massive Yorkshire pudding and amazing roast potatoes. The beefs seemed a little processed but still tasty. First place I have been to in ages that served enough gravy, sticky and tasty. Friends had chicken and peppercorn which they loved. Very lovely relaxing lunch

Friendly, efficient staff and every breakfast item was hot including the beans. Great value. Would definately visit again when in the area.

We have just come back from a meal and it was amazing it was all cooked from fresh and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and I would highly recommend them to anyone

Had 2 orders from this place and had been perfect both times Portions are very generous and the prices are great too I have never tasted Indian Cusine to such a high standard Food is hot and clearly made fresh with good quality ingredients! The chefs obviously know what they’re doing and can deliver very tasty dishes Can’t wait to work my way through the menu and try more of the dishes ☺️ Food has been late but that’s not a problem when the food is this good and to be honest both times are ordered were on a Friday and Saturday so busy times are expected Keep up the great work Maa Cusine! I cannot wait for my next order ☺️♥️
