What an utter gem of a place! We went here for the Saturday afternoon Cheese and Beer experience and it was incredible. Great food, great services, great setting and above all great value. The owners were very welcoming and friendly, and couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our time there. We'll definitely be returning when we're next in the area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The knowledgeable owner has a good selection of interesting cheeses , plus salami and a fantastic French Ardennes pâté ( which flies from the dish so get there early!). Also wild boar sausage rolls etc. And a selection of interesting gourmet groceries. Turning Coleford into a really trendy hub, with a baker and coffee shops etc next door, a great green grocer and butchers too, and all in a quaint tiny market town with large new Lidl as well. Perfect place to get your picnic lunch or treats when entertaining.

We were staying 2 nights at Hudnalls Hideout which is a few miles from Coleford. We had placed an advance order for some ‘goodies’ to be collected to take to the Hideout which was very remote. Our order was all ready for us when we arrived and we had a pleasant chat about the local area and got some good directions to get us in the right road. When we arrived at our accommodation we were greeted by the owner who had received a call from the deli to say that they had missed a couple of items from our order so they were going to drive over with them. The food we had from the deli was absolutely superb - especially the smoked mackerel pate and the smoked salmon! They sell premium products and also go the extra mile for service!

After reading great reviews we had to visit whilst on holiday and we are so glad we did. The gentleman that served us was friendly, helpful and patient with me asking lots of questions about the cheese and taking ages to decide as there's so much choice! Any size can be cut. We asked if he would recommend a cheese based on those we'd already chosen - wow I'm glad we did as the one we had we'd never have picked ourselves and turned out to be our favourite. If you love cheese or want to try some new cheese you must visit this place. Also stocks a great selection of other treats and foods.

Visiting this independent Deli in Coleford I was very impressed by the array of artesan foods and delicious looking treats on offer. On speaking with the lady serving there, the proprietor, I was further impressed by her helpfulness and her knowledge of and passion for the provisions on offer. What with the pandemic, i hadn't really been going out much to restaurants, entertainments etc and decided it was time for treating myself. Looking over the cheese selection, the proprietor told me about where and how they were made and what temperature and accompaniments they could be best enjoyed and I purchased several pieces. A real Oak Smoked cheddar, Single Gloucester, Rutland Red, Manchego... all delicious and enjoyed in the knowledge I was supporting genuine craftspeople with a passion for their produce. I found the Mayhill Green was for braver pallates than mine & reminded me of durian - speaking as one who acquired a taste for that fruit. These went really well with some artesan water biscuits also purchased there. I'm really looking forward to my next visit where I'll be purchasing some of my favourites again and will doubtless find new delights for the tastebuds. I heartily recommend all people of taste to treat yourself use this wonderful deli.

Highly recommended! I worked with Forest Deli on catering for a film shoot in the area and they were brilliant from start to finish. Debbie and Simon were a pleasure to work with, quick with communications and happy to cater for special dietary requirements. The food was absolutely spot on - the pâté, quiches and brownies went down particularly well. Would eat again in a heartbeat!

I rang the Forest deli to ask if they could organise a special picnic for my dad's 70th birthday. Debbie and her team went above and beyond and made the most delicious picnic that all ages (2-70yrs old) loved. The veggie sausage rolls were a massive hit and we loved the '70' that Debbie added to them. Every last piece of food was demolished. They even delivered the picnic (beautifully presented) to our campsite in Coleford. Thank you Forest deli for making that day extra special.

Staying in the area so thought we would take a look at the craft centre and have a bite to eat. The traditional breakfast was generous and flavoursome, the service warm and friendly. Would highly recommend but would book a table next time....we were lucky and got a table.

We enjoyed breakfast here to celebrate a birthday, and were not disappointed. We chose the Light Breakfast, but there are plenty of options to suit everyone. A lot of the ingredients are sourced locally, and all cooked and presented beautifully. With a sweet shop as part of the business, it's possible to leave with an extra treat or two for later. Get yourselves down there!

This is such a lovely little cafe, one you might miss if you weren't aware it was there. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and know the regulars well. The food is competitively priced and the ingredients are all fresh and great quality. we choose to take our food away however there is a lovely little area for eating and appeared very family friendly

From the moment we walked through the front door we were made to feel welcome. The dining room is warm and cozy, the decor eclectic. With a choice of two menus, the bar or specials there was plenty of choice. The bar menu giving you the option to reduce your per head spend. We all opted for dishes from the specials menu!! We are a family that loves our food. Every dish was beautifully presented, well proportioned and delicious. I can whole heartedly recommend the goats cheese and pesto beignets to start and if you have a big appetite the ribeye surf and turf. There was a great choice of gluten free or gluten free adaptable options and with no gluten contamination in the fryers we could all share the fries. We only managed one dessert between six of us and were delighted with the lemon sorbet presented inside a frozen lemon. The staff were all knowledgeable and willing to help with menu suggestions, and adjustments to suit dietary requirements. Nothing was too much trouble. If you are not in the area it is worth going out of your way to enjoy dinner.
