Utterly disappointing takeaway, threw it all away. Chicken and bamboo shoots was watery and chicken bland and chewy. Husband also rejected vegetable noodles as they had a strange taste and smell. Very first and last time ordering from this place and ever going online to give negative review.

What A Gem This Pub Is. Looking from the outside viewpoint, you can tell what's inside will not be your usual weatherspoons type local. The pub dates back hundreds of years and you can tell the charm is in the history - and almost museum like interior. This indeed is not a place where the customer should get the glory, that goes to the owners and their ability to keep this place alive without bowing to populist trends in an ever toughening economic environment. Any hearty pub enthusiasts should have this place on a list of must visit pubs. I've seen some negative comments on here, and was shocked when I actually visited and was stunned by the beauty, character and service I received. Going back to the customer gets the glory comment, I said that because I felt lucky to see, converse and appreciate what was on offer. Today I'm visiting again for evening dinner. This will be in a busier environment, so the comparisons between quiete and busier will be evident. But on a first visit basis, I expect a fantastic meal, in a place we are lucky to have. Went into the hut to have breakfast but had to walk out for the smell of stale fat from the kitchen and they had not started yet was sickening, how anyone can sit in there with that smell is beyond me and pay top end prices. We left and walked down the hill and went past the back of the kitchen and had to hold our breath until we got passed it

Over the years we've tried almost everything on their menu, and it's always excellent. Fresh ingredients, ready on time, and served with a friendly smile from the staff.

Ordered through just eat didn't deliver my food claimed my nwhbior shot them with a air rife 😂😂 never gonna order again what a joke

We ordered fish and chips on line for 6.15pm pick up - went to pick up, socially distancing in queue and on time collected - absolutely lovely ! Made a good evening excellent! Thank you!

Excellent food and lovely staff can thoroughly recommend. Went for the steak night excellent value. Lots of desserts to choose from but we were full after the main!

Great cafe with plenty of seating. Great service from the staff as well. I would like to suggest that they would include salad and coleslaw to other food options like the sausage roll. It cost £3.50 just to add this to a sausage roll.

2 stars just for the nice guy that served me as its a new business and could tell he was trying hard but the portions are small, the price doesn't reflect this. The vegetarian sausage was so disgusting I took one bite and put it in the bin, tasted like cat food! Not a good experience unfortunately which is a shame.

This bar/restaurant is CLOSED DOWN. The system took our booking bug we got there and all the lights were out !!! Don’t waste time going

We really like this pub and always eat here when in the area. We are here last night and as always the food was excellent. We had Vegan Meatballs and Halloumi chips to start, both yummy. Followed by Halloumi and chips for my husband and Cod and chips for myself. Both very good. Very filling too. Our server who I think was called Melissa was really nice and so good at her job. An excellent communicator. I cannot recommend this pub highly enough.

Sunday lunch was superb.Staff very accommodating. Food excellent quality. Highly recommended.Our time there was most enjoyable .

Had a lovely Birthday Chinese last night, very tasty and filling! Make sure you take cash though as they don't take card payments. Apart from that a very good meal and a very polite young lady on the front desk :)

All 3 of us ordered fish and chips which were excellent and 33% off ! Lovely pint of fursty ferret as well. Great service from a delightful waitress. Recommended
