Wimborne Fish & Chips in East Dorset

We ordered fish and chips on line for 6.15pm pick up - went to pick up, socially distancing in queue and on time collected - absolutely lovely ! Made a good evening excellent! Thank you!

Pretty unfriendly staff the last few times we went. It felt like we were an inconvenience. Very odd to feel like you've done something wrong by simply walking into the shop and asking for fish and chips, which after-all says on the door that's what they sell (or sold... it looks to be gone?)

Have just ordered cod & chips. Cod cloaked in a rather soggy batter and chips, of which there were many, which fell well below what we have now come to expect. The chips appeared like poor quality potatoes cooked in a burnt tasting fat, which left my wife and I disappointed. A centrally based fish & chip shop is just what we need so I REALLY hope that Wimborne Fish & Chips can up their game by offering top quality fish and chips (especially) cooked in the best quality fresh oil, even if we pay whatever it takes. Churning out 60’s style fish and chips will not cut the mustard today.

It seems they are either under new management or going through a transition period. We were most disappointed at the standard of the fish and chips.The chips tasted as though they were left over from their lunchtime opening- with scraps of hard bits and pieces! The fish was greasy as well. Perhaps we should not have got there at 5pm when they arrived to open up and as we suspected the chips were not freshly cooked and probably left over from lunchtime!

Songood, fish and chips so good eell served with a smile, better than that tatty old thatch pub, wey hey man, rock and roll man, so damm good, oh life is so good.........

Just had our 1st delivery of fish n chips for the family by the lovely owner and am not going out again to get them! Great food great service, newly taken over give them a go!

I left a previous review but was removed for some reason. I've lived on outskirts of wimborne all my life and always used long johns but thought we would try this new fish and chip shop and let's say we will never be returning. The fish was not cooked enough and the chips had blue bits on. The portion sizes are so small for the price I counted my chips with my small cod and I had 14 chips for 1.50 I don't think that is enough chips. I do not recommend at all.

An incredible menu for a chippie! Really good fish and loads of chips which were crisp and not too greasy. Friendly service and didnt have to wait too long although they were busy, will defo return here.

The fish and chips are fried to order, no food hanging around in hot cabinets in this fish and chip shop. Fast friendly service, with excellent fish and chips.

Been here almost since it opened NEVER had a bad experience mostly have the seafood basket and small chips. Sometimes a breaded cod. Always excellent portions now just right the used to be too big and asked for less salt as I don't like too much always friendly and happy to adapt meal also recommend the pineapple fritter!

Went in tonight and ordered two large cod and chips and portion of chicken goujons.

Great selection and everything cooked to order. Lovely chips and friendly staff. Can get quite busy, but never had to wait that long.

Don't know where my last review has gone. So, the sausage was white colour and completely raw it poured out with grease before dripping for sometime. The chips are green and brown and hard. The chips have no taste most probably because they are not cooked from fresh. Not enough salt or vinegar. Scary bad! We threw the entire order in the bin and if you don't believe me just look at these images.

always enjoy our fish and chips, either cod or haddock and they will even take the skin of if you request. Staff are really good fun.

Although now opened for 2 years, this was our first visit and we went clutching a voucher for £25 for a 'family feast' - a prize in a local competition. All the food is cooked to order and the choice is excellent: large cod (in breadcrumbs) + chips, plus various other items were all of very good standard and definitely of good value. Any local competition will have to raise its game to avoid being put in the shade.......
