Popped in the other day, have been here quite a few times as a local, I think the previous manager (which most of the reviews are about) has left, however the staff were friendly, and service was speedy albeit was quiet

Went for breakfast about 11am ish a young lad , clearly new to the job and clearly struggling, left to serve a growing queue . We had to wait ages to be served, whilst another member of staff strutted around ignoring everyone waiting!!! I’m blaming the experienced member of staff for leaving that poor young lad to struggle ! The sub its self was made with stale bread , that’s down to training! The filling was ok and the sauce was ok . COME ON SUBWAY, sort it out !!! I would highly recommend using the subway at ferndown industrial estate instead .

I visited this store for the first time today. We walked in past the lady working without her even acknowledging our existence. The guy behind us got her attention. She was snappy and rude with him for it. My companion asked for ham with cheese slices and mozzarella sub. The lady snapped back that there wasn't enough mozzarella as she needed them for some other kind of sandwich. Next I ordered the meatball sub. She snapped back that there were no meatballs with an excuse about the holidays and it being busy. Looking at the reviews it's often too busy for some ingredients. Ok I'll have ham too then. I took 4 napkins and the lady made a point of saying something about me having taken enough. I'm guessing she's the franchise owner and every penny counts? This was exactly the experience I was expecting... is what I would be saying if I had walked into Karen's diner. Possibly the worst subway I've ever visited.

Lady is crazy!!! We stopped on our way down from Southampton to get some lunch at around 1130 and my brother asked for a meatball marinara and the lady says “no meatballs in the morning” and then “no mozzarella that’s for the other sandwiches” then proceeds to give my dad mozzarella and says to my brother “see.. mozzarella for him” she seemed like she had some sort of issues and reading these others reviews it seems consistent. We also got a refill cup to share and as we went to refill said cup she comes over and says we in fact cannot refill it for some reason. Overall she’s just horrid! But it is quite amusing so if you come by you should stop in to experience it 🤣

Extremely rude lady behind counter, half of the things we asked for the lady refused to give. Set subways were not available even though they were advertised. The store is open till 7pm but you are "not allowed" to sit and eat after 5pm. WORST SUBWAY EVER!!!

I believe in giving everyone a second chance but why bother. 1 Called in on my way home for food for the journey asked for my normal foot long Meatball Marinara with Cheese and Onions all toasted but was told we can't cook the onions as it will smell. 2 Second visit waited absolutely ages (should have gone to Greggs as it was empty) but the lady was in no rush there was only one couple in front of me and it took 20 minutes to be served, I ordered my usual and asked if it could be cut in half and wrapped that way and I was greeted with that's against company policy. I pointed out the company policy strap-line "My Sub My Way" and I'm sure the company have spent millions coming up with that but if you go to this Subway its My way or the highway, so I left and haven't returned. I always try and leave positive reviews where I can as it helps business but whilst Subway employ people like this they don't deserve any positive feedback (they'd never get it).

This place needs a visit from EHO/Subway management. The food was concerning and i actually decided not to eat what I purchased as it really put me off- the total lack of hygiene and terrible cross contamination of all the foods without any glove change. Meatballs were not hot atall. Definitely needs an inspection and staff training

It’s seldom that I can be bothered to leave a bad review but this place really deserves one! We arrived at 3pm, hungry and just needing a foot-long meal between the two of us. The lady who was/should have been serving was in the kitchen doing some sort of food prep so we stood for a few minutes before she came out and said she was closed, saying it would be about another 15 minutes, with no explanation and went back into the kitchen. This is well within the opening hours so we’re mystified and hungry. Worst Subway experience worldwide for us and now looking at the reviews I’m staggered. Surely there must be franchise standards to be upheld and regularly monitored? I’d love to hear from someone at Subway HQ to explain why such poor standards are allowed continue at this location.

Came here to write about the awful experience with the lady who works here but can see that others have already addressed this. She shouted at an old lady to shut the door as we arrived, she was huffing and puffing about someone asking for an extra filling that he was happy to pay for, she left her half eaten lunch on the table for 20 mins and moaned when we moved it (it was the only table left). Quite openly told us we shouldn’t have moved it, it was her lunch despite her working and we were paying customers waiting for a table. Stood there openly slagging off the poor guy who cleans in there. Terrible attitude!

I've visited a lot of Greggs across the south coast and this one is by far the worst. The internal decor and general appearance is just filthy and broken. The food itself is still Greggs, but it puts you off with the filth surrounding you. I'll most likely just drive on by rather than stop for a bite to eat.

You don't deserve 1 star, your lazy employee closed before 18:30 when you are supposed to be open until 19:00, at a travelodge no less, where people arrive late as they have actual jobs that require skills, instead of slapping a few ingredients between two slices of bread. The worst experience I’ve ever had in a fast food restaurant in my life. Reading the previous comments, I’ll skip explaining the main offending woman and summarise the highlights of the experience: - customer being told she could not have mozzarella on a create your own cheese sub - the huff when a customer asked for a napkin and the napkins were empty - lack of ingredients and bread, which seemed to be the customers’ faults - cutting the bread likely as bad as possible, in one case that only about 1/3 of the sub was open, but it was too late to try and fix it so left a plain unopened end (the guy in front didn’t dare say anything) - shocking levels of filling and no cheese placing etiquette - toaster machine broke mid order, no apology just shouting to the restaurant no hot sandwiches and pushed the prepared subs away (they deserved better) - the couple asked where the nearest Subway was, to which she laughed in telling them that it was closed - we opted to leave mid-preparation as we didn’t want a cold sub so watched her unpick the meat and cheese ready for the next sorry customer All in all a vile experience. Would recommend Greggs next door though! Probably will go back still just for the entertainment

stopped here after a long journey and a failed steak bake purchase attempt. wanted some cookies for dessert but instead was met with sheer rudeness and disappointing customer service from the old lady who works behind the subway counter. a kind customer let us go before them (as we only wanted cookies) and the old lady told us that ‘it doesn’t work like that’ and rolled her eyes at us despite the kindness of the other customers for letting us go ahead. rude, miserable staff worker- i hope subway takes action about this

Terrible service, the Lady who I assume is the manager looked annoyed to have to serve us, after asking for my salad, she proceeded to add sweetcorn which I had not asked for as I do not like, she then refused to take it out and as there was a queue I didn't want to make a fuss. Every time I have been in there the service has been the same and will not be going back as long as she works there.

Bloody awful. This is consistently the worst subway around. Every time I go there I have issues. Today the older lady working was in a foul mood, she was on her own during a busy period due to staff absence (as she explained). The store had no meatball marinara, no Italian cheese and herb subs, no honey and oat subs and no wraps. I had asked for a big Bombay wrap for my wife and was told that even if they did have wraps I could not get a big Bombay as a wrap because you could only have certain fillings in wraps. Yet I had been to that same store a month earlier and had a big Bombay wrap. I thought subway prides themselves on giving customers options and letting them choose how they wanted their food? Another customer asked to have some salad in their breakfast sub and was told that they couldn’t have salad because no one eats salad for breakfast, from the staff member in front of the queue of customers. Just atrocious customer service.

The old miserable crone that works in there need the sack. I've been here 5 times and every time she argues with me, very rude and abrupt. Twice there has been a back in 5 sign, when she reappears she doesn't wash her hands and stinks of cigarettes. When asking for a Italian hearty she says I'm confusing her and she doesn't understand, whilst geting my hearty Italian. Then tells me it isn't hard and I shouldn't make her life difficult. I thought maybe I'd offended her and that's why she was rude, no she was rude to all 3 customers in front of me in the que, telling each of them that she hates the job and is over worked. Also looking at all the reviews I've realised she has become infamous with her bad attitude and rudeness. Looking forward to meeting her replacement.

If you are coming to an end of a long journey and fancy pulling into the Subway at St Leonard’s for a tasty lunch…. DONT BOTHER… I’ve never come across such a rude and abrupt lady. For starters when we arrived she was on the phone then finally saw the line of people building and ended the call.. I decided what i wanted to indulge in for lunch but when I asked for a chicken wrap the look i received was like I’d just run over her dog. As she Slapped the wrap down like a news paper swatting a fly she proceeded putting my filling of choice in which can I add wasn’t a great deal of chicken.. Now I always ask for cheese and toasted in my wraps in every subway going (and there’s been a lot) which not to my surprise came with it’s own form of hostility I reckon I would have got the same reaction if I’d asked her to work Christmas Day! Back to the wrap… normally the chicken and cheese go in the wrap and then get toasted then my salad goes on after toasting ohhhh no Kemosahbee not on this occasion everything went on and then put in the oven without a care in the world for my anticipated wrap… My chicken wrap came out the oven looking like a small soggy spring roll from a Chinese takeaway that had rolled under a unit and been forgotten about. My subway experience is usually a looked forward to event after a long mornings work will I ever make the same mistake again entering this one? Highly unlikely. If I could give one bit of advice it would be to swerve this Subway and go to Greggs the staff in there are always very pleasant..

After visiting today and experiencing 2 very rude customers in front of me stating they were going to leave bad reviews but couldn't help but notice their hostile attitude was horrible from the moment they walked in. I can honestly say we visit every week and we have never had a problem. Unfortunately, people do not read the menu properly then get annoyed with the person serving when they tried to explain that they are not allowed to change items from the set menu. The people working their have always been friendly and from my long experience in subways it appears the server is treated badly by hangry customers regularly. The company could probably look after their frontline staff better too. Great staff, lovely food will be there again soon!

The miserable old lady who says she is the manager was constantly arguing with the person infront of me, I thought maybe he had done something wrong until it was my turn to order and she instantly started going on at me saying how I can't order the sandwich I want... everything was there that I wanted... she should not have a job at all. Richard in the Gregg's side was really helpful while the lady who was on the subway side ignored us when we first went in and asked if a door lead to the toilets (she was sat on a bench, the only person in the room at that point and looked up at us but ignored our question) then when we came out and waited to order a drink from subway an employee on the Gregg's side told us that she'd gone for a break and would be back in a while. So we got snacks from Greggs and left. 0/10 don't expect to be served here just cos they're theoretically open.

The store manager here is the rudest person I have ever had the misfortune to meet. She argues with every customer, tells you you cant have this or that, never has enough mayonnaise for sandwiches and moans about customers who are an inconvenience to her. Been to this branch many times but yesterday this woman surpassed herself in rudeness. Ive had enough of her. She told me I cant have spicy Italian because they’ve changed the menu. Even when I pointed out to her that she had all the ingredients to make it she seemed confused. She accused me of complaining - but I don’t want all the salad known to man, its my choice. Suddenly it dawned in her that you can have it your way by making the sandwich with the stuff on display. What a fuss! If you go to this branch I recommend you take your own bread, they often sell out, take your own mayonnaise, and get ready to battle with the worlds rudest manager.

Really not great. No one serving as the lady there was getting a coffee. She saw me but just leisurely carried on almost looking annoyed I had come in. She had a raging cold which she was happy to tell me all about how ill she is and how she shouldn't be working and continued to make my sub without gloves or any ppe. She told me I couldn't have the sub in the order I wanted as the onions are only allowed to go on the top??….I then asked for sauce they didn't have and she said she hadn't even noticed & 'oh well' there was a lot of tutting as well when I didn't answer straight away. Staff seriously need some training in health and safety and attitude.

Honestly I've never been to a takeout or a restaurant with the server being so dam rude I was shocked I've never been here before and I won't be returning ever! Reading the reviews this woman has been working there for ages and is still employed lol my partner and daughter had the cheese bites and they said they were awful and not cooked enough there was barely any salad left either and all looked limp and old to be honest.

Omg god what an experience I walked in and got a stair that would have taken anyone down. I smiled and asked for the sub I required the short old lady behind the counter bellowed when I got it wrong and said we don’t do that anymore. I was shocked and really taken back by the service. Being in retail my self I know from time to time people have bad days but this woman really she didn’t deserve my time as a customer. I said oh sorry to what I asked for ,why did I say sorry she should have been sorry for the way she was. She then said what do you want and I thought enough is enough I turned and walked out and told her that their service she just gave was awful . Why work with the public if you are the problem. Visited this subway a few times and every single time the same rude lady has had something to make a rude comment on. On my first visit I was refused the veggie/vegan patty because she needed to 'save it for the vegans..' I explained that the vegan options were literally the only meat substitutes for vegetarians too so she eventually let me have it. A customer should be allowed to order whatever they wish without the unnecessary comments, sarcasm and discrimination. She must really love making subs because she definitely doesn't love customer service. Save yourself the hassle and go to Greggs instead!

Seems to be the same older women that has the attitude problems. Ordered on the app, went in to collect. She was complaining to another customer (that had staring problems) about people ordering on the app. She threw our food about and complained I was giving her evils. To which I replied her attitude stinks and then I was told to not order on the app again. Looking at other reviews, she seems to be the main issue. It amazes me how the company still have not addressed it. I think I'll continue to order on the app, just to be a pain.

Stopped in to this subway 16/4/23 for a quick breakfast. Waited over 5 minutes for a member of staff to appear. It was an older lady which I’m seeing today is a recurring issue for this store. I asked for my breakfast sub with hash browns in it(can’t remember what they call it) to be told that’s not a thing. I said I’d had one a few days before at ferndown to be told she’s worked there 8 years and she knows what they do and don’t sell. She told me that Ferndown will do anything you ask them. I also mentioned it’s available at New Milton to be told she’d never set foot in there as they fail their assessments. Anyway, she made my sub as I asked even tho it’s not an available item and then proceeded to tell the guy after me that she’s worked there 8 years and I don’t know what im talking about. Felt really good. Sub was actually hot and tasty but after that attitude I won’t be back again. It seems many other people have had similar experiences with this delightful lady.

As part of our Mother's Day walk, at about 1:30pm we stopped in to grab a sub or a Gregg's. It looked like Subway was closing, because there was one member of staff standing away from the counter with everything covered and not much lighting, so we headed towards Gregg's. Another customer asked if Subway was open, and the lady behind the counter said yes while turning lights back on. As we joined the queue, the customer asked if the selection of toppings was everything on offer today, and the lady's response was "Yes it's nine toppings, isn't that enough?" She then continued "we shouldn't be open anyway, it's a holiday." Fortunately the customers in queue weren't interested in escalating the conversation, however the staff's attitude towards customer service was fundamentally wrong. The sandwich was good enough to not give this review only one star, but I'm sure the bitter service affected the taste...

The older lady that works there, whenever I’ve encountered her she’s always miserable and rude. I asked if they were open as the sign was not lit, she said unfortunately. (I laughed as I thought it was humour.) I go to order two sandwiches and she says not you can’t cos we don’t have this this this this. It was ridiculous. I could see the things in the pots. I enquired to asked well can I have the turkey instead the chicken? She said oo id have to charge you for that. There was 0 customer service. It really annoyed me, when yesterday a EG manager was there who was very helpful. It’s a stark difference. I was so annoyed went to greggs instead. Just why can’t there be any customer service?! Ridiculous. I understand there could’ve been a rush on, but still, suggestions of alternatives or wave the “charge” if you’ve run out of things? Surely she’s making you loose money. Especially with all the comments in reviews. Doubt I’ll be back. Definitely choosing greggs over it next time.

Popped in today to be confronted by an extremely rude older lady working there who really shouldn’t be, especially when she features in other reviews. She not only spoke to me appallingly but the young lad who works there who was doing his best and looked beaten and embarrassed by her attitude. I’d imagine it’s a miserable shift for him. Food was fine if the service a little slow. If the lady engages in confrontation as much as she obviously does (person before me too) then no wonder there’s a queue. I won’t be going there again!

Wasn’t great. Took our daughter here for a birthday treat (she has a thing for Subway at the moment). Found the lady behind the counter not very polite. Upon going up to the counter we had to wait for her to finish eating a sausage roll as we had interrupted her on her lunch… Was then told only two choices of bread available which my daughter was fine with, but upon asking for a smaller 6 inch sub the server seemed annoyed as it would mean the other half of the bread would be wasted ?! Was ok after that and my daughter seemed to enjoy it, but don’t think we will be visiting there again in a hurry.

Long ish review but i think you will enjoy and laugh reading it Did an order through the app and got moaned at from the older lady for using the app because they no longer did a certain bread or the wedges for some reason which I find odd as all the establishments should offer the same thing app did not state this surely you dont get the choice weather you want to have or not have certain things in stock she told me not to do it again so a bowed down to her and said yes ma'am. I assume she is the manager or Owner and she point blank said I have to go through the app to get the refund which proved impossible and still waiting 3 weeks later refused to give a refund when all she had todo was put her little fingers in the till to give back what was owed but the task was clearly to much for her she also took ages to make the stuff The establishment itself is pretty grim and no-one ever sits in it and i dont blame them the floors are disgusting and are so sticky it's up there with gorilla glue I also don't think the toilets are even usable as I think there is a big green sign infront of the door I assume they don't want to clean them either so they bloked it off or customer blocked it with a footlong and I'm not referring to the baguette and thought sod cleaning that Needless to say we wont be returning to this quite obviously failing establishment clearly keeping a customers 3 pound is more Important hope she used it to buy some cleaning products that it so desperately needs and possibly a blunger will never know

For the last year or so I’ve been visiting this subway and the older lady is the most rudest women I have ever met! Her attitude towards customers is appalling and she needs a warning or a sacking! She bullies the young lad that works in there and I have had enough! Today she told a young lady who had a little baby that she couldn’t sit down because they are not allowing customers to eat in, at that moment I hit boiling point and I spoke up! Told the manager to sort her attitude out and that I will be taking this further, I have witnessed on 3 occasions this particular member of staff being absolutely rude to customers and I have had enough of her-she shouldn’t be a manager! She has no people skills what’s so ever. She didn’t like my truth so she refused to serve me-and to be honest I couldn’t care less! I’m glad I spoke up and I hope that someone high up has a quite chat with this woman, the longer people don’t stay anything the longer she will keep getting away with it. She is rude, nasty, a bully and I will be taking this further. After I had a chat with her everyone customer after me was called “hello my love” “yes my love” that’s okay my love…..FAKE! She is fake and I am just so shocked she is allowed to work there.

The lady (yes that one) refused to give me a portion of hash browns as they were 'for the festive sandwich'. I witnessed a fly lay larvae on the pepperoni slices. She moaned when I asked for all the salad. Who on earth has employed her. She should quit and become a traffic warden.

I have been to this subway quite a few times as it’s my only local one, not only is it really filthy in there the old lady that works there who I believe is the manager is the most rude lady I have ever met! On countless occasions I have seen her being rude to staff and even discriminating a deaf guy, so incredibly rude if I ask for a little more salad or sauce she will tell me your not the only person that wants this and I need it to go around, she also speaks to her colleagues awfully telling them how to do their job when they clearly know now telling them make sure it’s only 8 pieces of bacon ect. This is the first time I have read the other reviews and I cannot believe how many people have complained about her and nothing has been done, she really needs to be sacked.

If the young lad being “trained” (Lewis) was running the place… this review would be 5*. The older, miserable, lady “training” him had completely the wrong attitude. Lewis should be training her. Well done and thank you Lewis. Combining good customer service with quality control and care.

Got in at 13:20pm to order a foot long Vegan patty. They told me they don’t have it as not ready. I have asked if it was possible to replace the patty with a hash browns and was told now but a guy from the till jumps in and say’s it’s possible so they getting it ready. When I am about to pay the same guy from the till goes, sorry I will need to charge you more for it! He could of said this from the beginning not at the end. Anyway decided to walk away and not take it. The reason for 1 star is because the staff is always rude at this shop. I hope you can re-train the staff to be more nice to customers.

The queue for the till was a long wait. The poor woman was on her own during a busy period. The till wasn't excepting cards so had to pay cash. I gibe 3 stars for the lady who was serving as she did her best in a stressful situation

Rude staff and never have the veggie or vegan options in stock, but you end up waiting in a long queue before finding out as they don't give prior notice. Happened on multiple occasions so we just don't bother with this branch anymore. Need to employ better staff and have better stock available, hopefully Subway will take note of all these poor reviews and realise this branch needs some attention.

Don't waste your time! Where do I begin?! I've been in a few times and the woman behind the counter never fails to amaze me! Customer service doesn't exist its more along the lines of who can I offend/belittle the most. In the short space of time I was in there 3 different families walked away from the counter due to this vile woman. I honestly do not know how she has a job there, let alone as manager (or so she told me). I don't have her name but she's an older woman with about two teeth and a bad attitude. Good luck if its your only option!

Avoid at all costs!! This is the worst subway we have been in. The floor and seating were filthy, the chairs had been put on the tables to discourage people from using them (We visited at lunch time). After searching for the toilets we found them behind a recruitment sign, they were disgusting! On our way out one of the staff members from the adjoining Greggs told us the toilets were closed and we were meant to use the ones at the BP garage up the road. We asked why and were told that subway can't be bothered to employ enough staff to keep them clean. We told her that they should put a sign up saying they are closed to which she responded it's nothing to do with Greggs.

Reading the reviews on this place nothing has changed. The whole place is filthy and the floor has clearly not been mopped for a while. The subway basically had nothing in stock and the older woman working there was pretty rude. There seemed to be a regional manager walking out telling the staff well done, unbelievable 😂 honestly the grimest subway i’ve ever been.

This place is appalling! One male serving (making the sandwich and taking payment). Queued for 15 minutes (only 4 people in front) and then gave up. Do NOT use the toilets! Literally the most disgusting toilets I have witnessed allegedly owned by Subway! Makes me wonder what their food hygiene standards are like…?!? Will be reporting to Environmental Health! Avoid!!!!

Then the food itself was just as bad all the filling in one end and half as much food as what I would get in any other subway across the county!! The elderly lady was horrible! Waited a while to get served as she just stood there doing nothing ignoring us. She seemed annoyed that we didn’t know items were out of stock (no signs) but luckily there was another member of staff that’s found some of the items that they “don’t have”. There was a sign to say only card payments but yet was very abrupt to say she only would take cash. Whist making the sandwiches she would throw the food items she wasn’t using back, which landed in other food. Wanted to add more food but she was so horrible we just got what we could. Luckily there is a Greggs next to them which has lovely customer service and we were able to get the rest of the food we wanted.

40 min wait to get served at 2pm to be told the first three items I ordered were out of stock! Two staff was down to one as I reached till, watching him help himself to a free drink before he ran out door into waiting car. One girl left to serve a queue behind me of 8+ people. All of them complaining about length of wait. As for food quality of choice, Subway bites let’s say Subway will get a big swerve from me in future.

So disappointed with my purchase. If I wanted a toasted sub full of salad and no veg patty that is what I would have asked for- to be charged for the patty and then open an hour later to not what I ordered is so unacceptable. Should a customer have to unwrap the packaging just to check what they have ordered?? The most expensive lettuce roll I have ever purchased, such a shame!

Staying in the ajacant Travelodge so went in for an evening snack. One man working flat out, short queue. Very efficient and tidy despite the pressure to keep the queue moving. The fillings in our Sub were substantial [no pun!] and tasty. Good service. Good value.

I’ve written a review before and see nothings changed. Just popped in here for lunch on the go during a busy lunch time period being extra busy as it’s half term. A queue to the door. People getting impatient as service is taking a long time as there is only one young lad on duty. Surely during lunch times it makes sense to have more staff on. It’s not rocket science. The lad was dealing with it brilliantly and was polite and efficient and I enjoyed my excellent sub. Thank you. I think his name was Toby. Subway you. Need to get your act together.... you’d make more money if you were properly staffed as people would not leave the queue due to waiting. Shame on you for allowing employees to work in these conditions

I love a vegan pate sub any went to my local subway for a treat. I'm a vegetarian of 32 years but I don't bang on about and respect meat eaters choices and never try to convert anyone. It was busy, eight people in the queue ahead of me, I waited patiently but but the time I got to the front I had witnessed the sandwich artist handle the eight previous orders without changing gloves once, handling several types of meat, tuna and the dipping the same gloved hands into salad and cheese ingredients contaminating everything and taking money and using the till with the same gloves. After fifteen minutes he politely apologised for the delay to me. I wasn't going to take my frustration out on him, I gently pointed out to him what I had witnessed and said I'd give it a miss and left. My biggest concern is for people who may have genuine and dangerous allergies. Fresh gloves forward each order is a fair expectation for safety isn't it or am I being over precious?

I’ve been into this local subways 2 or 3 times. Sadly it’s not great. A bit grubby and you have to wait. However I feel sorry for the staff here. How is one member of staff expected to serve, clean etc on their own. Every time I’ve been in only one on duty. Always very pleasant but I feel sorry for them. One person I spoke to had done 3 shifts and then left to work on his own, untrained etc. It’s disgusting that companies now a days treat employees like this fit their own gain. I expect the staff turnover is high.
