Food was excellent, service great … there were 12 of us and no shortage of bringing drinks. Sharon and Paul were extremely accommodating. Friday is a steak deal day and food was all served hot and cooked to our requirements. We’ve all planned to go back soon … for info … the Sunday lunches are excellent too. We would all recommend here for food and drinks.

This is a great pizza place. Very friendly service, interesting music in the background and a terrific choice of pizza. The pizzas themselves are not small, so be prepared. They also have a small but excellent choice of beers to go with the pizza, and not ridiculously priced. They also offer a delivery and takeaway service which you book direct (no additional charges to Deliveroo or Uber).

We popped across into this venue for the first time at 4:00pm to check it out. As the outside seating area was full we took our 3 german sheperd dogs into the empty bar to order some drinks. To say the barman was unfriendly is putting it mildly we offered to leave if he had an issue he begrudgingly said we could stay to order our drinks then proceeded to tell us about all the sold out beers he could not offer us Needless to say we left there are plenty of other venues in Devon who are dog friendly

A wonderful surprise to discover this Sri Lankan takeaway in Axminster. They deliver to your door and the food is delicious. Really fresh and tasty and at a very reasonable price. Very friendly owners too. Highly recommended and will definitely be ordering food from them again.

Had a starter, main and drink all for £20! The food was great (had noodle soup with prawns, shrimp toast and iced thai sweet tea). The lady was very attentive but not overwhelming which is exactly what you need for having a peaceful lunch on your own. She even brought a heater next to my table! Next time I’m in Axminster I’m definitely coming back.

We visited on Sunday 12th January 2025 with our friends - 2 couples in total. From the moment we arrived at the Shop by the car park we were looked after by friendly, cheerful staff. One of our guests has mobility and speech issues, so needed the Land Rover to take him down to the farmhouse and the Thresher's barn where the lunch was held. Once at the barn a friendly member of staff welcomed us and showed us to our seats where we greeted our fellow diners. We ordered drinks and settled in for the main event! We were all very excited as we had all wanted to visit for a long time. Before we started, the head chef Chiara came out and talked us through the day's menu. This was really lovely because we could understand the processes involved and the passion the team have for what they do. Then the food started coming out and we had an amazing starter followed by an incredible main course and finally a fantastic dessert. The waiting staff were amazing and took the time to chat to us all - being very patient and attentive to our friend who has trouble with speaking. A small detail which meant the world to him! All the food is seasonal and locally sourced, so today's menu might never be served again!! If you like food and you care about ethical food sourcing, definitely book a long table lunch at River Cottage!! We now plan on returning in other seasons to see what we get served then!!

Wouldn't recommend to anyone. A women who im presuming is the owner or associated with the owner first slammed the door in my face while i was about to walk through it, this was for no reason other then i’m presuming i hadn’t walked into the building fast enough for her liking. Once she was inside and near the table where me and my friends were sat she continue to start an argument because there was currently only one drink on the table (we had drank the rest prior) insinuating we couldn’t be there if we hadn’t bought anything. She then continued to say we were being antisocial despite the fact she had just walked through the door for the first time since we had got there and no one had mentioned anything to us or had any complaints towards us because we were sat in the corner minding our business. I do believe this is based on age and appearance regarding the antisocial comment and us being the only younger ones in there, (there are also many other reviews specifically from younger adults saying how rude and unwelcoming she has been to them as-well). Then finally she told us to get out which we did because it would have escalated.

There is plenty of Italian food to choose from in a spacious restaurant. It is convenient to the station and the Coop car park is nearby. Food is good with tasty and substantial desserts. Good choice for anyone who appreciates Italian style food

Azura's menu is not extensive, but the food is better for it, and excellent value for money. Everything was freshly prepared, tasty, and served with a smile. I was so pleased to have found my favourite, clams, served the way I remember loving in Portugal, washed down by a nice glass of vinho branco. I was surprised the restaurant was so empty on the Friday nigh - perhaps the good folks of Axminster have not yet cottoned onto the fact they've got such a nice place on their doorstep. Don't leave it too late, it would be a shame if it had to close!
