What a find! Outstanding community project done right, coupled with lovely staff and delicious food and coffee. Lots for the kids to do, wonderful bookshop below, just great. Can’t wait to go back

Not the best of places for a cup of coffee or tea. Wouldn't go there again.

I have not been to such a lovely place for such a long time. I had to go as I was taking my laptop to Lawson Computer Repair, highly recommended as well, has a nice setup off of the waffle house. So while waiting , coffee time. Unfortunately, the sight and smell of food got the better of us, so cheesy waffles it was. You had better have a good appetite or share. I can not remember going into a restaurant/cafe, which I am happy to recommend. Fabulous food, freshly cooked, service with a smile with mums, dad's,children, and old wrinklies like me and all this while I'm in my wheelchair. Yes wheelchair accessible via a lift. If local to Axminster, please give it a try. I don't think you will be let down. 🙂

This woeful house may look good but I assure you it is horrible a rip-off would never recommend it I would highly suggest you go somewhere else even tesco would be better than this awful waffle house

Stunning waffles and coffee, my wife and I had the breakfast burger, stunning, stunning, stunning. Great food, excellent coffee, my wife's mocha was really great. Staff friendly , prices good, what more could you want.

Such a lovely café with community at it's heart. Waffles are delicious, evening events with music and open mic nights are fun. There is also a small toddler play area, everyone is welcomed.

Never got served! Friendly chap took order but failed to add it to system. After 45 minutes we asked where our drinks were, only to be told they hadn’t been ordered! Promised they would come in 2 minute's but no! Waited and waited while they served others who had arrived long after us. Left without ever receiving our drinks! Do not bother with this place!

Promised waffles by a friend when I had completed a summer of medical treatment. I chose "The Naughty One" - wow Banoffee heaven!! My first visit to the Waffle House but definitely not my last!

On holiday here and stumbled across this place. Inside is decorated beautifully and the service is excellent They have a nice little play area for little ones which my son loved. The food and drink come out fast and easy very well presented. Would highly recommend this place over the bigger chain cost a lot places. Will definitely visit again Well done staff see you soon

Visited while on holiday in the area and came for daughters 13th birthday breakfast. Didn’t realise you could bring dogs in otherwise I wouldn’t have left my husband at home with the puppy! Absolutely delicious waffles and vibrant ambience (Thursday, market day I believe) . Great to play a couple of round of Dobble while we waited for our waffles. Wished we hadn’t been rushing off to an activity as it’s the type of place I would have like to have stayed longer to play another game. Reasonably priced I thought too. A real asset to Axminster - thank you!

Good took a while to arrive, but it was very very busy on a Saturday

Popped in for drinks only but couldn't resist the warm waffles which were fantastic. There was a wide variety of milkshakes. My wife had a mint choc chip milkshake. Would return again if in the area.

I went on a very busy afternoon bit the staff where lovely and my food was perfect! A lovely little treat! 💕

Waiter was lovely, only table left we had too share was OK not really keen but did it,, with first 3 people fine but by time food came we shared with a mum and 2 children let just say mum had no idea on personal space or watching her children!! One child sat so close I had to move my daughters plate in fear of her hair in it, got the cards out and all playing snap banging the table etc,mum including. Fine if your on a table on your own I guess. So sharing tables not a great idea, food was OK but average. £42 not really worth the fuss.

I ordered Olives and pulled pork What did I get. No olive's,didn't have any.pulled pork it never arrived even after 3 attempts.the rest of my party had had theirs but I was still waiting. When my son went to pay they only charged for the Olivers which was out of stock

This is a cafe with a very meaningful purpose to connect the community and serves tasty waffles! The atmosphere and staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful.

We came here whilst on a visit to Axminster during our holiday in Lyme Regis. They were really busy, but we didn't mind and happily waited for a table. We ordered but was warned food would take half an hour. No bother for us, our youngest happily played on the arcade games and my husband, and our eldest and I just chatted. We were waiting for 40 mins just over for food and we were given some free drinks as a goodwill gesture and we didn't even mind. The food was absolutely amazing! We all ordered waffles except our youngest and was not disappointed, the halloumi fries were lovely too. Exceptional food, brilliant and friendly service and a great unique place. Highly recommend going here.

It was my first time there, and I'll definitely be going back. I am gf and it is hard to find places to accommodate me. I had the waffle burger, and it was delicious. The waffle fries are exceptional. Staff very friendly. Was a lovely evening.

What a great place!! We were looking for some gluten free lunch and the Waffle house came up. Safe to say we were NOT disappointed! Food was amazing, and very generous portions too! The community spirit is very much alive here with local events, clubs and activities, the lego sculpture of the week firmly fixed to the wall, and community projects on display birth in the Waffle House and around the town! What a find!!

Visiting Axminster and saw the Waffle House. Popped in for coffee and have to say that it is a lovely place to have a drink. I was tempted into having one of their waffles with berries and all I can say is delicious. If in the area well worth a visit.

Brilliant little place filled to the brim with different activities such as board games or pac man machines and a great vibe. Obviously the food is also brilliant with interesting variety and reasonable prices, plus the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

You couldn't ask for better! The food was excellent, the service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was very calm and relaxing.

An absolutely delightful glorious little community center and waffle House coffee shop bookshop and meeting place all rolled into one. A multifaceted space which although is located on the first floor was fully wheelchair accessible with the lift and that also makes it very useful for families with pushchairs etc. I went for breakfast and I had a waffle burger which was basically a breakfast inside a waffle lol. It was fabulous and thoroughly recommend it. One of the surprising things was that it is opposite what used to be River Cottage restaurant and adjacent to and overlooking a most beautiful town center churchyard and green space with well established trees and well-maintained garden. As you'll see in the picture it makes the view out of the coffee shop stupendous and it really makes you feel like you're in acquaint little town which of course Axminster is. It was my first visit to Axminster and this was the first place I had been to eat and it certainly won't be in my last. Dogs are allowed inside the building and the restaurant coffee shop area and there were so many people meeting friends from the surrounding town and just getting together for coffee and waffles etc. All the trappings of a standard coffee shop with the benefit of great staff good views and waffles!! I'd Have a waffle over a waffle here any day.

Hidden gem for children and families. Good portion sizes, but more importantly,resources to keep children at play ( from Lego to old fashioned space invader machines. Relaxed atmosphere, and you can even watch the buses go by outside from the window. Excellent coffee. Extensive waffle menu, inc. savoury options

What a wonderful place! We came upon it by chance. We were greeted warmly and the waffles and coffee were delicious. The place was buzzing and full of happy chatter.

My wife and I popped in here as there's not much else to do in Axminster and we enjoyed a very tasty waffle. However, I did expect the waffle to be slightly larger for the price charged but the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Super dog-friendly and a great community hub for the town.

Visited today with our 4 year old after school he enjoyed playing in the fun house very much, staff were great and seated us with a good view of the play area . Ordered waffle chips for my son and I had a waffle with strawberries and cream first ever experience of eating a waffle and omg I was impressed it wasn’t sweet at all it was fluffy and warm with a taste of heaven it was amazing this will definitely become a regular place for us to visit a real hidden little gem ❤️

Really great initiative to have a space where people can hang out without the obligation to drink. Food and drink is delicious but you don't feel pressured to spend lots of money. There are regular events like board games night where you can meet people and a fixing session where people help to mend things. Really helpful computer room with very helpful people next door.

Visited a couple of weeks ago and whilst the food when you get it is lovely I think an internal review of service and organisation is needed. It appears that it would be helpful to have a staff member who was a supervisor and I think this would assist overall.

Only had drinks..great BUZZ about the place..!

My colleague and I have worked from here a few times now. We are always given a lovely warm welcome and everyone working or volunteering here is helpful and friendly. At each hotdesk there is a plug and plenty of space to work. There are booths but we haven’t used them yet. Last week I had the most amazing waffle - The catchy one, it was delicious. It’s fish goujons with tartare sauce and a lovely colourful side salad. Thank you so much, we will see you again soon!

Always an excellent experience here! Staff are so friendly and food is delicious and so reasonable. The cafe is great with areas for kids, community spaces, working environments and relaxation. They have it all! The waffles are one of a kind! A must visit.

Had to go and find cutlery and asked for sauce twice and still never received any..

The Waffle Hut is a real gem. wonderful, friendly staff and great food. There is always some community activity going on and and being kid / dog friendly there is no rush to have to head home.

Went in for lunch, ordered beef burger. The meat appeared to have been cooked and they forgot to take it off fire and it was the most disgusting burger I have ever tasted. The elderly lady who was with me could not even cut it. When she complained the lady in charge was arguing that she had to pay for what she had eaten. Tha lady was very disappointed and teary.

Visited here to catch up with a friend with children and It's a perfect little spot for this. Busy on a Saturday but we didn't have to wait for a table, and the service was quick and pleasant. Many young families and children here, so the atmosphere was alive in that sense. Plenty to entertain the kids (tabletop games and small amusement arcade) Food was delicious and my smoothies was very tasty. Certainly worth a visit with children.

I had been before when it was in its old location, & now its up stairs I had not been in but a friend said it had a lift woohoo no stopping me now this place is great food wow staff sooo nice & generally priced at normal high st prices, but the best thing is all profits go to charity 👍 brilliant 👏

It's a place to part of a family/ great conversation. You can read a book enjoying a beverage off your choice or you can do paper work! The atmosphere is energetic or if you choose a quiet time you can relax! Enjoy every moment.

Great for kids small and old as they vintage games like pacman for free! Waffles are delicious and tons of different types to choose from with a humourous brand (when reading the menu). Very friendly family run business I was so surprised to find it in Axminster!

I go at least once a month. Love the waffle fries, love the waffles, love the smoothies, love the live music on a Friday night, love the service. Only downside is the wait because they’re always so busy but it’s worth the wait

Really pleasant atmosphere and good food and drinks. In a top location in Axminster and well worth a visit. Soup they serve on a cold winter afternoon is a real treat.

Loads to love about this vibrant community project. Activities for kids and super friendly staff so if you need a bit of a lift this should be your venue....oh and not to forget great waffles with savoury or sweet accompaniments.

Good food and surroundings with easy access for disabled

Really nice atmosphere and good waffles such a pity it’s let down by very poor service. There is no excuse because there’s plenty of staff and lots of standing around going on.

A fabulous place where they have obviously tried to think of everything the customer needs. Amazing varied menu, and the waffles are truly wonderful.

Wanted to have a good experience but sadly not, someone suggested I try it. First a small thing that doesn't make sense, you can't add toppings to the special, menu seems somewhat ambiguous in this regard. When it comes to the food the espresso was terribly over extracted, very unpleasant had to add water and sugar to make it drinkable, the waffle was soggy and undercooked, and the fresh orange "crush" was lovely, if only there was more than a gulp of juice, so much ice was used, there was hardly any space for the juice. I'm sure it's a profitable business, but I won't be back. Staff could also have better training and be more organized.

My granddaughter ordered an extra small fruit bowl to have with her kids waffle. I was charged £1.50 for the banana, £2.50 for the strawberries and £2.50 for the blueberries. All these fitted into a small bowl. What a rip off for something so small…£9.00…...
