Renoo's Thai Food Restaurant in East Devon

Absolutely delicious food, the best Thai food I've ever had. The flavours are so clean and fragrant, they don't get mixed and each leave a distinct taste. We had the Thai green and red curries, and both were excellent with coconut rice. The vegetable spring rolls were incredible, packed with delicious flavour!

Really nice food and service was excellent. Small friendly restaurant. The menu was not too big which is nice to see as so many places nowadays seem to think you need 60 different dishes. The service was excellent, friendly, polite and very helpful, really enjoyed the eating here

Delicious food and friendly owners. They don't serve alcohol though but you can take your own in. I recommend and would eat here again.

I dropped in during lunchtime today after looking at TA and all the excellent reviews. I was the only one in but the lovely Thai lady made me feel very welcome. First time here. I ordered prawn toasts to start and a green chicken curry made quite spicy. The prawn toasts arrived in v good time and were delicious! The portion size is large so next time I would just go for a main. The curry was very tasty, perfectly spiced and huge! So big I was able to take half home with me. Highly recommend here. Perhaps an idea would be to have a lunch special ie small starter and smaller main portion for a set price, advertise just around the corner in the main square. This place should be full at a lunchtime! Will be visiting again, but not so greedy next time !

Delicious and high quality food which is not always a given, generous portions and a warm atmosphere! We ate here on a trip down from London and the food was really flavourful and with fresh ingredients. We did the sharing feast and had enough leftover for another meal at home!

What an Amazing addition to Axminster . I’ve never had Thai food before as i’m allergic to prawns , but Cecilia was so attentive even cooked my food in separate oil to be sure i didn’t encounter anything that had been near prawns. and when it was bought out the food cooked with anything prawn was placed down the other end of the table so thank you so much for that . The food was amazing we had the meal deal to share and there was sooo much food it was just perfect great choice . they even put the leftovers in tubs for us to take home. We will definatly be returning thank you so much for a lovely visit .

Two of us had an early evening Thai before going to the theatre. It began to fill with other customers making it a nice atmosphere in this clean restaurant. The food was probably the best I have tried in a very long time. The coconut sauce on rice was brilliant. Also had lovely starters and soft drinks. Alcohol is not supplied and they charge £3 corkage per bottle. Delighted with the meal, and the young lady who served was extremely pleasant. At a cost of £41, this meal was also great value.

Amazing. The most authentic Thai food outside of Thailand. 17 of us and everyone was impressed!

From the moment we entered this surprising restaurant we felt welcomed and valued. The host was attentive and advised us on drinks- there is no license so you can bring your own drinks for a small corkage fee. All our food was tasty and well made. Satay and samosas to start and Pad Thai and noodle soup for mains. All delicious. A delicious and reasonably priced meal. Highly recommended.

We ordered food to collect. Pad Thai, green curry with rice and samosas. Highly recommend all 3. Easy to online order, ready quickly and most important was absolutely delicious. Really fresh ingredients and great flavours. Amazing.

Delicious food and wonderfully friendly and attentive service. The general ambience for eating continues to improve and develop to make eating in a pleasure, but great as a takeaway option too. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and authenticity of the food.

Renoo is an amazing cook and one of the kindest people you will meet! She will make sure you enjoy a beautifully prepared meal. The restaurant is very comfortable, perfectly cozy on a rainy evening. Renoo made me a vegan pad Thai with a delicious variety of vegetables. I will be coming back anytime I'm in the area!

We’ve just had our first takeaway from Renoo’s. No complaints, nice pad Thai, the tofu was really nicely cooked. I over ordered on the spring rolls, I didn’t realise you get 4 in a portion.

We dined in and had the most authentic Thai meal since in Thailand. Everything was so delicious, fresh and tasty. They asked how much heat we wanted and we got exactly what we asked for! Can’t fault this place- apart from could do with making the entrance/front part of the restaurant a little more warm and welcoming- although the staff made up for this! Reasonably priced at just over £40 for 2 and we ate so much. Will definitely visit again- and might try a takeaway at some point as well.

Had a really enjoyable meal at this restaurant with my family, a high chair was available for our baby. We had prawn pad thai and it was excellent. Not too oily like others I've had, and perfectly seasoned.

This is a relatively new restaurant, so not many people there, but the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Certainly worth a visit

Very delicious !! The menu might be limited but the taste is not. I got the Pad kra pow and asked for extra spicy with tofu. Did not disappoint 🌶️🔥 Also got the Pad Thai (chicken) and it was spot on. The green Thai tea was just perfect. I'll be back !

This place is a FIND! Each dish individually prepared in this family run restaurant - the pad thai particularly good. Leave the ques and crowds to overpriced Lyme and take yourself here for a simple straightforward delicious delight!

On half-term break near Axminster and decided to try Renoo’s. We were not disappointed. We had soup, duck spring rolls, red and green curry, pad Thai and rice - all of which was SUPER tasty, thank you ;)

Ich hatte Frühlingsrollen und danach ein Pad Thai mit Tofu. Das Essen war frisch zubereitet und schmeckte ausgezeichnet. Absolut empfehlenswert! Und die beiden Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend und äusserst freundlich und hilfsbereit.

We had a takeaway from Renoos. My husband and myself both had the tofu/veg red curry with rice and veg spring rolls. The curry was lovely with a mixture of fresh veg and tofu with just the right amount of heat for us. The spring rolls contained a tasty noodle filling, which I hadn't had for ages. All in all a very tasty meal. Staff were lovely and helpful too. We shall return.

Always lovely authentic Thai food

Lovely food. Simple menu but this means everything is super fresh and you can really tell that it is and we had a warm welcome from the new waitress and friendly host Peter. Don’t expect glam decor or super fancy dining - this is a simple cafe - but do expect a warm welcome and five star food :) We will definitely be back!

Delicious fresh and authentic food! I visited here with my family at the weekend, we had chicken satay, spring rolls and prawn toast followed by massaman curry, red Thai curry and green Thai curry. Everything was absolutely delicious - having visited Thailand a number of times I can taste that the food at Renoo's is authentic and fresh. Peter who served us is a lovely chap with a warm and welcoming vibe. A lovely experience that will be certainly be repeated when I am next visiting my family! PS. Do note that you can either pay in cash, or use the QR code to pay online with your card. You can also bring your own alcohol if dining in for a corkage fee of £3 a bottle of wine, or £1 a bottle of beer.

These place is a hidden gem in Axminster but not for long now...fantastic proper Thai food, food full of flavour. As a chef I can be fussy about my takeaway food. Renoo was absolutely amazing with her hosting, freshly prepared meals served piping hot! She even made me a special meal off the menu so that I can try her true Thai cuisine...yum and thanks so much definitely our place to go now for authentic taste of Thailand cuisine Please also try her homemade chicken satay wow!❤️🙏

The food was excellent! We had chicken satay, spring rolls, green curry with prawns and red curry with prawns. Having lives in Thailand for several years it is easy to say that these dishes were all authentic. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant! I shall return.

We were very excited when we saw a thai had opened in Axminster and were looking forward to trying it. We ordered online for a pickup takeaway and it said it would be ready in 20mins. Drove down, and the food was ready exactly when we arrived, all piping hot and very efficient. The satay and spring roll starters were excellent - perfectly cooked and really tasty. The chicken green curry was lovely and had a nice kick, and the pad thai was one of the best we've ever had. We all agreed the meal was wonderful, good value, and will definitely be having it again.

Just woofed down a shared pad thai noodles, green curry and jasmine rice which we got on takeaway. Really tasty with lovely fresh, crunchy ingredients. The curry came with rice for a tenner. Great value for the quality! Great to see food like this in Ax.

Great to have a new place in Axminster as I've been coming here for years from London. Delicious Paad Thai and excellent Panang Curry and the vegetarian options were also excellent. I bought wine from Co-Op as it's BYO. Excellent value in these times. The owner was lovely and friendly.

Ordered from here twice today. Nice wholesome Thai food. The best thing I find about this place is that it's not trying to be anything its not. I tend to avoid other localish thai restaurants as their prices are outrageous. Especially to someone who has spent alot of time in Thailand. £10 for a main and 5 for a side dish is very affordable in current times and it is value for money. I feel very lucky to have this little gem on my doorstep. Your doing a great job, keep doing what your doing. Don't change anything to cater for people giving bad reviews. Those who know will know and will be regular customers. Well done.

We ate in on Renoo's first weekend being open. She did her very best at trying to keep up but the fun fair was also in town and people were piling in. I don't think she had anticipated such demand on the first proper night and as it was her first week of service there were some glitches but nothing serious. Renoo is lovely, and her food is genuinely very tasty. I just got a takeaway tonight and it was beautiful. I had the spring rolls and you can tell they are legit. Home made, they taste fresh. The Green curry for main was also so tasty. Its fresh , has a really good flavour and unlike a lot of takeaways you feel like you've eaten well and wisely after. Highly recommended the spring rolls I could eat this everyday

Great food all cooked to order. I had the vegetarian green curry with tofu and all the veg was fresh and not overcooked. Pad Thai was also super tasty...the kids loved it. The owners were really friendly too...we'll definitely be back.

Two of us shared Chicken Satay to start then had Pad Thai. It was very tasty indeed.

Had a takeaway a week ago and was very pleased with it!! Loved the massaman curry as it was made with chicken thighs instead of breast which makes all the difference in flavour. The Thai chili and basil was amazing, I've never had this dish before but it's a must try if you visit. Addressing some of the one star reviews, as I agree with John (if that's even his real name) that reviews are a persons own take on things and shouldn't be called into question. Giving it a one star is just ridiculous, one star is if the food is inedible, not that it just wasn't to your taste. Slandering a new business just to bring down it's overall rating is just flat out pathetic, and you have the nerve to say other reviews "smacks of falsehood" when I can clearly see you have only ever left one review, obviously made an account just to leave a terrible review. What a sad life you must lead John. Don't believe the majority of the one star reviews, come try out Renoo's Thai for yourself I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Also Thai curry sauces tend to be a bit more on the watery side Rich Dere, please educate yourself first before trying to tar a new business.

Such a nice addition to Axminster! Delicious Paad Thai, excellent Panang Curry, Chili Basil Noodles also super good. BYO beer or wine (though Co-Op a couple of blocks away). Well worth the visit and good value too. Yum.

Ref: 19:15 pick-up on 30/9/22 Our order was 2 x Prawn Pad Thai. 1 x Green Curry (Chicken). 1 x Spicy Chilli & Basil Leaves. Unfortunately I didn’t receive the Spicy Chilli & Basil Leaves, instead I received what looks like the Massaman Curry (Chicken) - photo attached. Next time I will be sure to check the contents of the bag but don’t feel I should need to. My in-laws and wife were complimentary about their choice of dish however, the Massaman Curry did lack a bit of flavour. The chicken was tasty but it could have just been boiled as there was no infused taste in it. I feel like 3 stars is a sign of an “ok” or “satisfactory” meal/service, which is how I would describe my experience. If I had been given the correct order and it was good quality then I am sure I would be giving 4 stars as a minimum. Will give it another chance but would appreciate a complimentary dish if possible. I do however appreciate that mistakes (such as mixing up dishes) can be made when you are busy.

Great Thai food. I have been 3 times now for takeout and also dining in. I visited today with my brother who also enjoyed the food. Managed to eat a starter and 2 mains for £25, so great value for your money! Very friendly and welcoming staff, going that extra mile. I am happy to see a new business opening in these difficult times and it also being Thai. It’s a 5/5 for me and my new regular take out in Axminster

Bit disappointed to be honest. Whilst the curry was fairly tasty the other items left a lot to be desired. I get that this is a new business, so I am attempting to make my review as constructive as possible, but if many other customers experiences are similar to ours you haven't exactly made a good impression for potential repeat customers. The chicken satay was dry, tasteless, and clearly hadn't been freshly prepared. The supplied pot of satay sauce was a lot better but it was far too viscous to coat the chicken skewers and there wasn't enough of it. The spring rolls seemed like Iceland frozen party food spring rolls. The pad Thai was okay, but nothing special. The chicken wings described as "The ultimate Thai Finger Licking Food. Deep-fried in a Special Coating." were just plain chicken wings, well cooked and juicy, but they were completely plain and lacked any flavour whatsoever. This was definitely the worst item. The spicy chilli and basil leaves ended up being a mostly pork dish which wasn't particularly memorable. Not a great start. Hope you can improve things a bit because I know I probably won't be visiting again.

Great value, authentic Thai Street food! My girlfriend and I tried a meal here last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, we shared two starters three mains and each had a bowl of rice, all of this for just £40 plus £3 corkage to enjoy our own bottle of wine. The food was very good value for money and the Chilli Basil in particular was exceptional! Not long ago we tried a nearby pub for food and paid £18 just for bangers and mash! So a main here for £10 here is a steal. The restaurant is basic but most importantly it is clean, the service was very good and there is plenty of seating. Such a shame there has been a few negative reviews, I disagree with them however everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Sure authentic Thai food isn't for everyone, but if you enjoy Thai food make sure you try these guys. I truly hope their venture takes off and with enough support hopefully more dishes shall be added, Mango sticky rice????

I strongly disagree with the "one star" reviews, must have been a review with the clear intention - only to put down the reputation without any rational. I tried green curry with chicken this weekend and it was really amazing. Good taste, all fresh, highly recommended!

Disgusting food, I ordered a massoman chicken curry and was faced with a watery mess that instead of having chicken breast meat had bony wings with hardly any meat. No flavour whatsoever. This is not Thai food. Its Disgusting.
