This individual restaurant is just by the crossroads in the centre of Cirencester. We popped in on a Tuesday lunchtime without booking and we were able to get a table upstairs. But if you are keen to go, I'd recommend booking. We'd passed this place many times before and read the menu in the window, and always thought it sounded interesting. Well we weren't disappointed! The menu is relatively small but with sufficient variations to appeal to most people. You could choose a variety of small plates or something more substantial. We started by sharing some queen olives and halloumi with sliced honey, both were brilliant. Our mains were smoked haddock risotto and mussels with beans and greens, again, superb. Wines were good and sensibly priced and service was excellent and very friendly. The vibe is somewhere between tapas bar and independent restaurant. Not cheap, but definitely worth it We thought it was lovely and will definitely return.

Popped into stow, after lunch around 4 ish, had to wait to be seated, even though garden area empty as was the upstairs, eventually after a wait ordered pot of tea for two, and two special coffees, had to wait ages all though they weren't busy, eventually drinks arrived, tea very good, both coffees awful likebroen fish water, my Grandson complained and his was replaced, the waitress told my daughter she had put to much hot milk in hers!! Which was ridiculous and told her when challenged about what coffee do you use, was informed it was top quality, it definitely is not didn't even smell like coffee waitress had bad attitude towards complaint, when we paid she charged my husband for someone's else's, which another waitress had to sort out, honestly, first impressions go a long way we would definitely not return to this tea room in future for food or drinks!!

My husband and I visited today for a pre-booked Champagne Afternoon Tea. We asked if we could have plain ham and cucumber sandwiches instead of the choices offered as we didn’t like any of them. We were told we could only have plain ham but not with cucumber, even though one of the choices on the menu was salmon & cucumber 🤷♀️ So we ordered the plain ham option but when the food arrived, we had been given ham and mustard sandwiches so had to ask for them to be returned and replaced. This mistake was corrected and a new cream tea was bought out but we were not given any plates or forks and went to find these ourselves. The correct sandwiches and cakes and scones were delicious but the champagne was actually Prosecco so may be worth changing the title to “Prosecco or Fizz Afternoon Tea”. So all in all disappointing service but very nice afternoon cream tea.

Called in for a coffee decided to try a full English. Perhaps they were having an off day? It arriving 5 mins after ordering should have been a clue! Ordered a bfast with scrambled eggs. 1 sausage hardly saw the pan undercooked. No colour at all? 2 bacon similar anaemic fayre Mushrooms dry and tasteless Scrambled eggs were an omelette? Which I suppose are solid Scrambelled eggs? The toast however, 1 slice of thin white bread cut in half with a blob of real butter was the best part of the breakfast. £12.95 for this I thought a little steep. I waited for someone to ask what the food was like never happened so left disappointed. As I say maybe an off day. Perhaps repeat business is not something they strive to get? Coffee was good.

We stayed two nights here. The service was attentive. The staff really want to make sure your stay was enjoyable. The garden surrounding the hotel is great for a quiet stroll. We had dinner at the restaurant the first evening. My sea breams were perfectly cooked, seasoned and with crispy skin. Breakfast was included and also excellent. The location is a bit out of the main road but that is part of the charm.
