La Bobina Cirencester in Cotswold

What a shame! Only had drinks here so cannot comment on the food but a beautiful location with a wonderful ambience and attentive staff however I was bitterly disappointed with our drinks. We ordered 2 cocktails and a vermouth and the taste of them was great. But when I am paying London prices for a cocktail (£34 in total) and then those drinks are served in a champagne coupe that was less than half full, I have a problem. As I said, such a shame, the taste was lovely and it's a place I would have returned to for an evening for both food and drinks but alas that will not be the case now.

What a delight I discovered this tapas bar I had the crispy squid ,beetroot almonds a blue cheese and honey this was yummy and the pork belly which was also very yummy Great service with care and superb food Don’t miss this treat if you love tapas Thank you it was Great 👍

Excellent, you will probably need to book to get a table

We ate tapas of olives, broccoli, Iberian ham, bravas potatoes, and jalapenos, all very delicious. We had a mañbec that was also very delicious. The prices may be a little high for being tapas but very good service and atmosphere.

2nd visit here, just as good as the first time. The food was great, especially the mushroom croquettes, prawn pil pil and goats cheese. Good beer and wine plus excellent service rounds off a fab time.

Highly enjoyable visit on a Thursday lunchtime. The sun was shining and for all the world we could have been in Andalusia. The food was consistently high in quality and measures up favourably against the best Tapas bars in Spain. I have noted previous comments regarding the price of the dishes which if you are comparing against pre-COVID prices may be a little higher but as you may have noticed quite a bit has changed over the last 4 years. The restaurant is well resourced with an engaging front of house team. Delighted to be able to support this excellent local small business - we will be definitely coming back for more plates including the tempura monkfish which was one of our favourites.

My partner and I hosted a drinks and pintxos evening at the La Bobina delhi and wine bar on the evening before our wedding. We were completely blown away by how fantastic the food, service and atmosphere all were. Rhiannon and her team could not have delivered a more exceptional spread of food and the service was second to none. Everyone was incredibly lovely and nothing was too much trouble. It was the perfect start to our wedding celebrations. We cannot recommend the place highly enough.

I have visited Madrid many times and my partner lived there for a while, so we booked with a little trepidation that we would be underwhelmed. We needn’t have worried, the food was very good and the service was excellent; staff always seemed to arrive at the right moment. Would recommend the scallops, the manchego, the jamon and the anchovies…but all was very good. We have not been to Spain for a while so not sure how authentic the food is, but don’t worry about that…we had fantastic food, amazing service and the best night out of our holiday to the Cirencester area.

Fabulous little hideaway, tucked down such a pretty alley. Katie is an absolute superstar and a credit to the bar. Great personality for hospitality and Thea is following close behind. Very enjoyable tapas, my husband and I shared around 6/8 tapas dishes all of which were very good. The truffle croquettes were a particular favourite. Good atmosphere throughout and it got very busy whilst we were dining. Husband had cheesecake for dessert which he really enjoyed. All very reasonable priced. Looking forward to returning to try even more delicious tapas.

Understaffed or careless employees. Arrived on a Friday at 6 o’clock, restaurant was completely empty just 2 customers on the terrace having drinks . After waiting to be seated for a few minutes and we were ignored went at the bar and asked the waitress if we can sit anywhere, she answered no , she needs to check because the restaurant is extremely busy . We were very surprised to hear that because no tables had the reservation sign on them and there were 2 people seated beside us in a restaurant with 2 floors and at least 80 covers capacity. After waiting for her to finish whatever was keeping her busy she struggled to find an empty table and we were seated. Had to go to the bar and look for the waitress in the entire restaurant every time we needed anything like to order drinks , order starters , order mains , ask for menus, ask for bill , ask to pay , so around 5-6 times just going and searching for the busy waitress . Every single time had to go look for her and wait for her to finish either her important conversation with her colleague or for her to finish her more important jobs . Food was fantastic, setup end atmosphere fantastic, authentic Spanish.

Went here for a friend's surprise birthday meal with quite a big group, and we all really enjoyed it! Food was lovely and plentiful, and reasonably priced. There were plenty of options, we didn't have any dietary requirements but they did offer alternatives in case we did.

Astronomical wine prices - check carefully before you order.

Nice outside space. The food is very good. The aubergine fritters are excellent.

Warm place, very good service and fresh products. The very small point is the price, otherwise it was good but rather expensive for what is offered.

Overpriced. Like foreplay without the climax: food presentation is nice however the food was very disappointing. I am Spanish and my husband is British so this review covers both points of view. The aubergine fritos with honey dish was essentially oily battered fried aubergine swimming in honey… the honey was literally dripping down this tower of aubergine. All you could taste was honey. The pork belly chicharrones were fried to a point they were dry and actually hard to swallow. The padrón peppers were either burnt or raw. The chicken shawarma was tasteless and burnt on the edges. The squid was far too salty. I had to squeeze loads of lemon to be able to eat it. The jamón serrano plate and the jamón serrano croquetas were the only tapas that we enjoyed. It felt like the food was rushed and not cooked with actual care but more to just get it out as soon as possible. However the service wasn’t even fast. Yes, it was busy but that is no excuse to rush food or cook poorly. In hindsight we should have stopped with the first tapas and left, but we kept hoping the next dish would make up for the previous one. It really wasn’t worth it.

A little bit of spain in the UK. Pricy but delicious food.

We stumbled across this restaurant on tik tok not being from the area, it was recommended on quite a few videos so we thought let’s try it! The food was incredible and the menu is well thought out. The guy that served us was also very knowledgeable and offered suggestions of what to order. The only negative is the restaurant lacked some atmosphere there was no background music but that could have been the time we visited! It wouldn’t put us off visiting again however!

Beautiful lunch at La Bobina in the courtyard - the sun came out for us! All food was beautiful especially the scallops, just wow. Service very warm and efficient too, we will be back!

After waiting for 20mins for churros the staff recognised how long we had waited and came over and apologised, yet another 5 mins went by and it still hadn’t arrived. We therefore went up to the till and asked for this to be cancelled and to pay the bill so we could leave. Within an hour of leaving the restaurant I had severe food poisoning. I have made the restaurant aware of this and also notified the environmental agency. I have had no offer of compensation from the restaurant who instead requested a very personal form be filled in with my details, which I’m sure most people would be uncomfortable with sharing with a random restaurant and as such they won’t be investigating! Avoid!

Visited La Bobina on a sunny (yes, they exist in England) afternoon. Wow, first visit to the restaurant and certainly not our last. Sat on the back terrace and enjoyed a glass of the brut Cava and a Malaga draft beer (Victoria?). Ordered 6 tapas for the two of us. All dishes were great but the monk fish tempura and the chicken shawarma were fantastic. Highly recommended.

La Bobina Cirencester is a little gem. Tucked away with a courtyard garden, wine bar and restaurant. Welcoming and efficient service. Great selection of tapas and high-quality food.

This restaurant is superb. My friend and I just found this wonderful restaurant on a beautiful sunny afternoon and sat in their pretty ,atmospheric garden area. The owner was an absolute delight.Our lunch was fabulous .We both loved it. It was a real find for sure.

We found this place by accident at lunchtime. Very friendly male waiter who was lovely to chat to. We just had 2 dishes, the monkfish tempura and mushroom croquettes both delicious accompanied by some Spanish wine and sherry. Great quick service and I believe resonably price for the quality of food.

Very friendly welcome from staff who really know the menu well - lots of excellent dishes but the padron peppers, the air-dried tuna and the sublime pork belly stand out as particularly memorable.

Splendid night with friends and the most delicious supper. The only critique was the scallops which were overcooked, but they were taken off the bill and it wouldn’t hinder a return visit from any of us. Great selection of gorgeous wines which we all enjoyed! Can’t wait to revisit! A must if in the area!!

A recommended restaurant. Whenever I visit a Spanish restaurant outside of Spain, I try to look at it from two perspectives: as a Spanish person living abroad and as a local of the country that loves our gastronomy. This perspective helps me understand the menu better. And I must say, this restaurant has a great menu that I'm sure will be appreciated by both Spaniards and English people who love Spanish cuisine. The place is beautiful, located in an old building that retains all its essence. Good prices and a very friendly team of waiters who help you decide on the menu. Good product quality. Possibly the best aiolis I've ever had. The monkfish was excellent... amazing! The ham croquettes were also very good!!! Congratulations! We'll definitely be back!

What a delightful tapas bar, we were welcomed warmly and shown to our seats. We ordered too much food because we just couldn't select fewer. Every dish we ordered tasted and looked beautiful, I wish we had bigger stomachs! We ordered the tempura monkfish, patatas bravas, padron peppers, crispy squid (best I've ever had), the mushroom truffle croquettes(absolutely insane!), pork belly (slight crunch, heavenly flavour), fillet steak (I could tear through it with a spoon) and finished with some baked cheesecake and churros. We had a newborn baby in tow and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

I'll be honest and we tried to visit here a year or more back. We asked if there was a table available and were told there wasn't when the place looked empty. We left disappointed and I said I wouldn't go back. I checked it out last week and the website advised booking, which we did for mid afternoon. I'm glad we gave it another go as the place is really good and the food excellent. The staff were also very attentive and didn't rush you at all. Some "play at tapas" this doesn't! We had a variety of dishes and none disappointed which says something. The whole time was a pleasure and we'll be back - but book to avoid being turned away 😉

Went for my husbands birthday he was throughly impressed and said best meal out for a long time, we normally go to the tapas in old town Swindon. Lovely setting, great atmosphere and well looked after, the wine tasters for me to decide was a lovely touch. Food was outstanding, definitely be back soon.

What a wonderful evening! The atmosphere was excellent, chilled and cosy with immaculate service from Katie and Fin who were both so approachable and welcoming I felt like I was an old friend coming back as a regular guest. The food was phenomenal, tasty, excellent quality and full of flavour. I honestly can't recommend La Bombina enough and can't wait to come back out for our next evening out!

Delicious and authentic tapas place in a quaint tucked-away location down the cobbles of Black Jack street. We really enjoyed our dinner date here and there’s a brilliant selection of dishes to choose from, so we would absolutely go back again to try some more! The ribeye steak with a spicy & smokey sauce and the chicken croquetas were our first-visit favourites 😋

A great Tuesday lunchtime visit. Plenty of space to sit down inside and out, plus it is dog friendly! The drinks menu was good but we were driving so we just looked, it was certainly an inviting list. The menu was as you might expect, a lot of classic dishes there. Something for everyone and prepared in the kitchen which is visible from a large portion of the dining room. We picked five dishes between the two of us, and none disappointed. Our server was able to make recommendations and I'm definitely going back to try more from the menu. There is a daily specials board and if the pork loin or the fillet steak is on offer again I will certainly try them as the price point for these items (£16 and £18 respectively) was very tempting in itself. Overall a very good spot to visit on Cirencester and while central, it is hidden delightfully in a little courtyard, so even when it is busy, it doesn't feel like it. Our server was friendly and attentive, our total bill just topped £50 for the two of us including soft drinks. With wine, expect to add another £15pp perhaps? Well worth it for the experience.

I first went to La Bobina when they first opened. The food was just ok. This time it was very different. Apparently they have a new chef and I could tell. So yummy. But fresher and tastier food. Attentive, warm staff too. We'll be back

We had a lovely first visit , a warm welcome on arrival and a table in the vibrant, but not noisy, main restaurant. We had five dishes between the 2 of us- 3 off the main menu and 2 off the specials board- it was flavoursome and well presented. The food was served in a timely manner and by friendly staff. We both said we will revisit.

Very filling tapas, 2/3 dishes is more than enough. Good drink selection (the sangria is 🤌🏼). I would recommend the paprika chicken it is stunning and the steak was perfectly cooked. Nice little tucked away restaurant with cute interiors.

We visited the Cirencester restaurant on Tuesday night, for a mini celebration meal - restaurant seemed fairly busy which we thought was a good sign. When first arriving the waitress was distracted even though she greeted us, and after 5 minutes of standing around we were finally offered the table we had booked - no major issue, but not the best start. When handed the menu’s we weren’t told of any items that weren’t available, so in proceeding to order Oysters a little later on, we were then told they didn’t have them in - with any restaurant I’ve been to in the past, I’ve been told of any dishes unavailable as soon as the menu was provided - so i’m unsure why this wasn’t mentioned. Ordered food, service was good and friendly overall, no major issues. Moving on to the food, we were thoroughly disappointed from start to finish. We ordered quite a bit (definitely over ordered, but we were offered to take some home after) as there were plenty of things that took our fancy. However when receiving the dishes we were completely underwhelmed. Bread, was ok but it was just an average soft French baguette (6 horizontal slices) served with a side of garlic aioli which appeared to be from a jar. £4.50 for this felt a bit much. Chicken - completely under seasoned and 0 flavour, really really dry, honestly Nando’s or any chain restaurant I’ve been to has had more flavour - and cheaper too. Anchovies - 3 anchovies on a plate with some peppers (peppers also seemed to have just been out of a jar) absolutely 0 reason why these 2 things should have gone together, and there was 0 mention of peppers on the menu. Anchovies also to be honest tasted a bit ‘off’ And £6.90 for 3 anchovies is an absolute disgrace, putting it bluntly. Aubergine fritter - Wish I’d taken a photo of this because it was just absolutely dripping in oil, and the oil was the only thing we could taste. Aubergine was sliced long ways instead of horizontally which meant that the aubergine became incredibly soggy with oil. Any aubergine fritter I’ve had in the past has been slices thinly and horizontal, so I’m not sure why this was done differently. Pork belly - Nice and crispy, but served with some sort of chilli mayo which did not go with the pork belly at all, didn't quite understand the pairing Fresh tomatoes - The tomatoes weren’t great, lacking flavour and dish lacking any imagination, i believe the tomatoes were in a sherry vinegar, but overall it was just bland - wish we hadn’t ordered this, around £5.00 for 8 tomato slices.. Goats cheese - Lovely with honey and nuts but you can’t really go wrong with honey and goats cheese. Crispy squid - Squid was nice, but nothing special, serviced with a lemon aioli but seemed to be out of a jar. Octopus special - Served with butter beans which hadn't soaked up 0 flavour, and just felt like an unnecessary add on, completely bland dish, and beans just felt like an after thought. Octopus didn't seem fresh at all either. At the time, I was trying to see the positives in this meal, but after a few days I’ve come to a conclusion that spending £100 on a meal, with 2 glasses of wine and added service charge I’d have expected better, it’s and it was just not good enough. Reviews on here are great, and maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes, but I was not impressed with the majority of the dishes served, won’t be recommending or returning.

The food was actually good, service perfectly, and the atmosphere was noise but acceptable.

Gorgeous food in beautiful surroundings. All food is very authentic and the Sangria we had was delicious. Very difficult to find such a high, authentic standard of tapas and La Bobina do it so well. Made for a lovely anniversary dinner for me and my husband and we will be back!

We went on a Wednesday night, which probably explains the lack of atmosphere. Food was delicious and everything we had on the menu was excellent. Service was a but slow ans getting through staff's attention was a but of a mission.

Being a regular at La Bobinas sister tapas bar in Marlborough it was great to find that the Cirencester bar is just as good .Same brilliant tapas and atmosphere .Service was good but as a small negative I had to fumble around in the dark to find a light switch for the upstairs toilet .I did ask a member of staff how to find the switch but still struggled in the dark .Would have appreciated help but not offered .

Really great as a last minute casual meal with a friend. Food was delightful and as we were a last minute booking we sat in the bar which was nice and relaxed. Only issue was the bar stools were higher than the table so a bit of leaning over the table to avoid making a mess but otherwise delightful and would definitely return

Tip top for a stop in Cirenceter in the colors of Andalusia. Great service, super good with a price a little higher than average but still very affordable and worth it.

Had a recent visit to the new wine bar/deli part of La Bobina in Cirencester and we were thoroughly impressed! Rob the manager was very welcoming and knowledgeable on the cheeses, charcuterie and deli items. If you’re looking for a lovely glass of wine and perfect nibbles, look no further. We also bought lots of goodies to take home to recreate it. Thanks again Rob!

Service was great, staff very attentive. Food was good, bread could have been toasted/warmed up, the deep fried dishes were a little oily but tasted very nice. Lots of vegetarian options. Would come again.

Beautiful building with a buzzing atmosphere. We really felt like we were abroad. The waiter was very attentive and the service through out was spot on. Try the chorizo and dip aioli and bread into the chorizo oil, amazing! Would 100% recommend and go back if we were down that part of the world again. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Really friendly and attentive staff with delicious food! I believe we were served by Fyn who was super accommodating and even helped us clean up after I ruined our dishes, the table and the floor with water! 😅. We had patatas bravas, smoked tuna and the steak with a pitcher of sangria. Absolutely delicious!! The steak with the chimicurri sauce was our favourite. This place is on the pricey side but definitely worth it, especially if you're celebrating something special!

Would recommend a visit to La Bobina if you're in Cirencester looking for authentic tapas. The Shawarma was our favourite, the tempura aubergine is a must have, very similar to a banana fritter! Overall a great meal but it is a little on the pricey side. Staff were super friendly and helpful

Had a great tapas on a Saturday afternoon

Most of the food was good, the service was a little ropey. Ordered olives and a few other nibbles to start off, when the olives arrived there was 1 green olive only and the rest were black, which we are not as keen on. I spoke to the waiter and he said there wasn’t any left as his boss sold used them all up on lunch service, although there were jars strewn around the restaurant and a huge bowl full at the chefs pass, which they were serving up for the other guests! After spending over £200 for 3 of us, i felt their attention to the customer was lacking on a problem that was super easy to resolve.

We popped in for lunch on a Tuesday on the off chance that there would be a free table. There was! We used to go there when it was Jessie's Bistro some years ago, but hadn't been to it's reincarnation as a tapas restaurant. We had a good selection of tapas and a very enjoyable meal. The tempura monkfish, chicken croquettes, pork cheek and the chorizo were stand outs, the aubergine chips less so because they were too big with too much batter on for my taste. There was a good selection of wine by the glass which was sensibly priced. Service was excellent and the people there made us welcome and looked after us very well. All in all, an enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings with good service and good food.
