Well what a shambles…don’t really know where to start to be honest Dropped in for some lunch at The Lodge after a recommendation..well what a bad idea. Ordered our food and drinks totally £37.60 4 lots of Toasties and coffees Well after being served and told should be ready in about 8 minutes. Waiting patiently for over 40 mins with drinks finished it soon became obvious that our order had been forgotten or given to someone else as there seemed to be no sort of system in place so my wife and daughter asked had we become forgotten only to be shouted rudely from the back of the kitchen we had only been waiting 8 mins.. Then when we explained we hadn’t the guy on the till realised and did apologise he was pleasant enough to be fair. But by this time we were then told they had ran out of toasties @1330 So we then ask for a refund along with several other customers who had the same experience that day.. Well That seemed so difficult to process for the manager we left in hope rather than certain this had been done correctly. Returned 3 days later as still no refund Then again on the Friday before we left Still no refund so after leaving our details as returning home that day we where told they would sort it.. Had a partial refund of £11 on the evening of our return which seemed odd We Emailed them but no response. 3 phone calls in total, finally we got a response and a call back and promised a full refund of £37.60 would be credited back for the inconvenience 2 weeks on there was still no more joy. Phoned again spoke to Michelle once more who I imagine is One of the Managers. To be told refund had gone back onto my credit card on Aug 16th.. Guess what …I don’t own a credit card ..so my refund of £37.60 was obviously sent to someone else ! Honestly what a total shambles So she took our details once more and assured us it would be done correctly, And now today another £13 refunded, not the full refund we were promised, Yes that covers the toasties eventually but what a terrible experience in all. Great location Appalling experience Will not be returning!

Firstly, I want to say, we come here a lot and it’s usually fab! The actual Lodge that serves coffee cakes etc - cannot fault them - ever. But the new Rox Box is a different experience altogether! We went up to order and was greeted with a very tired grumpy man who took our order and mumbled very quietly a thanks, no smile at all. We had to ask for a ticket to be called when our food was ready. When we got our food (ordered a margerita pizza OG and a small burger and big burger can’t remember the names) the buns were like chewy ciabatta buns - not the kind of buns you would have for a burger at all. And the small burger was the driest thing ever. They couldn’t even handle a second bite so took it back. The man that served us earlier called the chef, Paul, out who basically argued with my husband over the buns. He went back to the kitchen and sent a young boy back with some brioche buns to have instead. He stood there and got the buns out and realised they were frozen, husband asked for the chef and a refund, chef very begrudgingly took him over to the lodge for a refund. We also saw that the pizza bases are also frozen. Very disappointed, considering over the road you can get a freshly made pizza that tastes amazing and is cheaper! Will not be eating here again.

He has no customer service skills, really obnoxious and has disgusting attitude. We booked a table of 8 on Easter Sunday at The Bistro restaurant behind the Lodge at Lake 12. The service was excellent and the Sunday Roast which I believe was cooked by Paul the head chef and his assistant Sam was exceptional! MThey have a great menu choice, which is very reasonably priced. We were all served generous serving of vegetables and Yorkshire puddings followed by an array of delicious desserts. The setting by the Lake is wonderful with ample parking and a great place for dog walkers. What we haven’t experienced but made our enquiries from a very pleasant lady, is the sailing, kayaking, rope climbing and archery, which I believe is all available for hire with very experienced staff on hand to teach you. After having a stroll along the lake we returned to The Lodge and was served fabulous coffee, which finished off what was truly a brilliant day with our family and extended family. Look forward to returning when we visit the area again. For those unsure where to eat, drink or visit in the area then please visit Lake 12, an absolute gem!!

Appalling visit second time round. Cured beef ? More like artery fat. Inedible fatty boiled meat, chewy. The chef unconvincingly offered a free coffee, if I felt that cut up about it. Strange how last weeks order was so different to what we were served today. What a waste of hard earnt cash. And here I am, always cooking at home. I thought sunday was my treat, our first visit was good. Dogs jumping up to the counter, really hygienic. No control from the owners. Snooty customers not thanking people for holding doors. Walkers dusting masses of mud on the floorboards for other people's shoes to pick up. You then find them washing their shoes in the lake before they get in the car. How considerate for the beautiful venue. Honestly, sorry for the rant but the chefs indifference drove me to this review. For the record, I didn't take your free offer. No comparison.

Also, we noticed another family, including a wheelchair user (there’s a ramp and level access, which is great). Full English breakfast was excellent, as were the eggs royale. Coffee great too. Plus all reasonably priced certainly no more expensive than other coffee shops in the area (the café on the next lake is totally overpriced and has grumpy staff!) what is wrong with people? Complaining about the use of disposable cups (look at the location) or how busy The Lodge is. It’s busy because it good! If you love a good cafe come here, if you want it quiet and to choose your own cup , stay home 🤷🏻♀️😊

Breaks my heart to give this place a poor review, since the location, styling, menu is all great. The food was great too. But WHY on earth are you using so much non recyclable junk to serve it in? Shame on you, I don't know how you can sleep at night creating all that waste that will end up floating in the sea. I never order coffee unless I know it is served in proper crockery cups that are going to washed up and obviously re-used, and I was very relieved to see you had proper cups on the counter. But was then astounded when I was told by your staff that they couldn't use these because it was a "quite a busy time" i.e. they couldn't be bothered to wash them up. Eventually after pleading with them, they reluctantly agreed to use them. But then the food packaging was FAR, FAR worse. Your website has a load of tosh saying that you care about the environment, but yet our table was piled high at the end with non-recyclable junk. Why on earth do you feel the need to put plastic lids on everything??? And don't fall for the rubbish about it being "compostable" - I've tried this at home, and I can tell you these products are scamming us and even after 5 years there is no evidence of them being compostable. Do the right thing please, use proper cutlery, crockery and wash it up. Then you will have an absolute treasure of a cafe that will be worthy of 5 stars.

Have visited several times for coffee and cake which has always been pretty good. However visited recently and tried the street food. It was very disappointing. Had the korean chicken burger which looked nice but the chicken breast was full of cartilage and had a crunch. Left most of it. Also tried the beef noodles. Perfectly edible but not tasty, more of a watery broth with mushrooms and the odd bit of beef. Good to see them offering a bigger menu and diversifying but won't be going back for food. Stick to what you know, good coffee.

After moving to Cirencester, I drove past the sign advertising coffee a number of time before I finally went in, but I’m so glad I did. I’ve now been a regular customer for about 18 months and try and go at least once a week. Always such a warm welcome for both myself and my dog. And it’s one of her favourite places too. A good range of drinks, good cakes and the Paninis I had to have always been excellent. And add to that I find the place, beautifully tranquil, specially when sitting outside overlooking the lake. And it’s my escape to place on high days, and holidays when I want to stay out of all the frenziedness

Having been through Moreton countless times we popped in for the first time at the weekend. We had a breakfast and it was cracking good quality food and not kept hanging around with the service. Tables were cleared and cleaned quickly after customers left. Glad we popped in and will certainly return.

Beautiful & cozy coffee shop embracing all the Cotswolds cozy lifestyle. It was very welcoming & felt like a place where time itself slows down. Delicious oat milk latte & scones! Very laid back & wonderful vibes.

This used to be a really cosy cafe where you’d get decent quality coffee, cakes and toasties etc. visited today for the first time since before Covid and I’m guessing it must have changed hands. Espresso was undrinkable ( more like filter coffee) and we only ate one mouthful of the cheese ham toastie - anaemic, plastic ham and cheese. Dont like leaving negative reviews but this is more like a transport caf now which is such a shame. Won’t be back.
